Tentsmuir Nature Reserve is located
between Dundee and St. Andrews in Scotland. Here you will find stunning
beaches and sand dunes, as well as beautiful forests. The many trails
and sites of interest make it an ideal location for
exercise such as running, cycling and dog
walking. For wildlife enthusiasts, there
is the opportunity to enjoy observing many bird species and seals.
The area is also rich in history.
Archeological excavations have revealed evidence of pre-historic
settlements, and the beach provided an important role in the British sea
defences in the Second World War. Polish soldiers, evacuated from
France, were stationed in Tentsmuir, and established an impressive
system of concrete defenses, which are still visible on the beach today.
