There are traces of an old Kyivan Rus' settlement, including the remains of an ancient cemetery. The railway Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko and Yiddish writer Sholom Aleichem. The fictional dacha settlement of Boyberik, where events of Aleichem's tales of Tevye the Milkman take place, is based on Boiarka.
Until 18 July 2020, Boiarka belonged to Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion. The raion was abolished that day as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kyiv Oblast to seven. The area of Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Raion was split between Bucha, Fastiv, and Obukhiv Raions, with Boiarka being transferred to Fastiv Raion.

Boiarka Local History Museum

The Boiarka Local History Museum is the center of the cultural life of the city and district, it hosts educational work, various exhibitions, presentations, and creative meetings.

St. Michael's Church

St. Michael's Church

It is an architectural monument. It is also the oest and most modern spiritual center of the city. It stands on the site of an ancient Old East Slavic settlement - a hillfort, which got its name from the Prytvarka River, which flows nearby.
