Welcome to Klaipėda

A city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast

WHY KLAIPEDA?

Your adventures in Klaipėda

Klaipėda is arguably the most historically rich Lithuanian city that still exudes the instantly recognisable German spirit, and differs from the capital Vilnius and the second-largest city Kaunas by its architectural style, buildings, and winding cobbled streets. While life may be a bit slower here, the city’s palpable urban character is best represented by the sound of waves crashing against the pier, and the gorgeous promenades that come to life at night.

PLACES TO VISIT

My favourite places in Klaipeda

Melnrage beach

Melnragė is worth to visit if you want to enjoy the sea and the sun. It is one of the most popular seaside attractions in Klaipėda city. It is beautiful, comfortable beach with great bathing area: not too deep or too shallow, no pits under the water – just perfect!

Black Ghost of Klaipėda

The bronze sculpture, known as “Juodasis Vaiduoklis” has been terrifying children since 2010. Apart from the ghost’s hands, the hooded robe is empty inside, creating a strangely expressive spectral appearance despite the lack of any facial features.

Katpėdėlė

In one of the old warehouses of the Danė River, traditional Lithuanian dishes are prepared by Katpėdėlė’s chefs. Nourishing and simple, prepared with love and attention, so the traditional dishes of Lithuanian nobility cuisine never lose their popularity.
