Woman, Life, Freedom

My city's heroic women are fighting for freedom

How did the 2022 REVOLUTION begin?

Iran has experienced widespread demonstration following the death of Mahsa Amini. This protest, which started in opposition to the compulsory hijab law, eventually grew into a nationwide uprising against the oppression and tyranny of the Islamic Republic Regime, with distinct characteristics, including the broad slogan " Woman, Life, Freedom" and the unique solidarity among people without a centralized leader against the suppression policies of the regime. The iranian authorities unlawful use of force including live ammunition and metal pellets against protesters and bystanders. This has resulted in over 500 killed by security forces, and thousands more injured.Despite severe security repression and a high number of deaths and arrests in several Iranian cities. It is coming closer to victory by the day.

mahsa amini

Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini, arrested by the Islamic religious police, was taken to hospital two hours later after losing consciousness. She passed away on Friday afternoon at Kasra Hospital in northern Tehran. Originally from Saqqez in Kurdistan province, Amini was arrested in her brother’s car on a visit to the capital to see their relatives. When she was arrested by the morality police she told them that she is a stranger in this city and does not know anyone. Now the world knows her and everone says her name.

Nika Shakarami

The story of Nika Shakarami's murder is the most painful story I have ever heard. She, who was only 17 years old, went to protest on the streets for her basic human rights. The last time her family talked to her she was running away from the police and then her phone was switched off. Nika's body was found at a detention center morgue 10 days later, Her family was only allowed to see her face, for a few seconds, during identification. Nika was to be buried one day after her 17th birthday, but polic stole her body and buried it in a village 20 km away.
