I have to say, this one was a little more challenging than what we previously covered. But, it was an incredibly rewarding experience. This course pushed my boundaries and expanded my skills in ways I hadn't imagined. Firstly, Matt was phenomenal as always. He is truly an expert in this field and has a knack for explaining complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner. His passion for coding is infectious, and it continues to keep me motivated throughout the course. What I loved most about this class was the challenging part of it, which was to apply everything we learned from the lessons on a project. I really enjoyed seeing everything coming together with each and every style, action and function that got applied. Despite the challenges, the class fostered a supportive learning environment. The incredible team from slack was forever on standby to assist wherever they could. This was my first experience with back-end coding, and now I'm hooked. Matt's videos walk you through the process, so you can see and understand why things work the way they do. More importantly, he demonstrates that even experienced coders sometimes need help, and how to find it when I needed it, helping build confidence that I could accomplish these tasks on my own.

Today marks the end of eight weeks journey with SheCodes Foundation. Those eight weeks have been so amazing. I can code with advanced html/CSS, JavaScript data types and function, how to work with UI development and can use API. My name is Whitney Reed. I'm from Mississippi, but now living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Back, in 2019 and in 2021, I had got in trouble. I lost custody of my daughter to my aunt and uncle in Mississippi. In 2022, I was into a relationship not too long after that and I wasn't happy with my life and the choices i made in it. in 2023, I, then, decided to moved to New Orleans. My goal was to do DoorDash with my car and saving up money, but i ran my car down and sold it. After using up my money and resources, I called a friend up for advice on the next move. She suggests a shelter, so I look one up. The second listing on Google was the New Orleans Mission. It's a faith-based homeless shelter that has an amazing 1 year discipleship that gets people learned about God and help you get back to him. After that, they help people get back in society, and help people get back with their families. I'm a graduate of the program and now into the transition stage, where I'm working full-time and working on a car and housing and hopefully, reuniting with my daughter. It's wonderful. While I was there, I was thinking about get back to school, especially in computer and technology. I already went to four colleges, but i dropped out of all four (mainly because of the discussions). One day, when I finally did my research, I came into SheCodes and signed up in Novemeber 2023 on the Black Friday sale. So far, I love the setup. I like how Matt explains each lesson so well. I definitely like Athena AI in answering my questions so well and also the people over at Slack as well. I wanna thank the people responsible at SheCodes for giving women the chance to learn how to code. I appreciate it!

I definitely recommend shecodes, I tried a few workshops before finding shecodes and it never lasted, but the teaching method that Matt created here makes it much easier for anyone who has never seen programming or knows the basics.

I've been thinking about switching careers, and I came across SheCodes by chance. While it was tough at times and I had to search for extra help online during the course, I managed to create my first project: a small webpage that I'm really proud of! I really enjoyed the workshop, Matt's explanations were very clear and he made things easy to understand. The homework and challenges were a great way to put new knowledge into practice.
Again it was a workshop where I learned valuable skills. I also could practice the techniques I learned in previous courses. It is rewarding to see the AI poem generator coming to life and providing the user with funny content ;) The hardest part for me was to describe the context in a way that would make AI deliver expected results. This was sometimes a bit annoying, because I already felt that the content provided was extremely detailed, plus I followed the guidance of Matt. So definetely a lot of patience may be necessary to test out ideas. Maybe it comes with more experience. All in all I liked the workshop and I am looking forward to the next courses.

A good build-up from the basic course. You learn a bit more in-depth from what was learned in the basic course, and a bit more about grid and the spacings within. I learned something new about fractional units which I didn't know about before. Matt, as usual, explained very well with examples so it's easier to figure out.
I must say, SheCodes have changed my life. Never thought I would be able to code a full website. I am very excited to keep going and learn more and more. I would recommend to anyone. I had joined the She Codes workshop earlier this year and it has been a total eye-opener. The experience has been inspiring in the sense that i was able to learn and challenge myself and what i thought were my limitations. Despite my initial apprehensions, what started of as curiosity and an attempt to get out my comfort zone ,is proving to be a journey of personal growth and purpose. There were times i felt intimidated and way over my head ,but because of the way the lessons were structured i was able to understand , whilst having zero prior experience or knowledge in coding. Matt and his team's supportive approach and the warm atmosphere they created made it easier for me to engage and participate. Because the workshop is self-paced, i felt less pressured by time, the Slack app was a great platform to engage with other students so i didn't feel alone , even the She Codes Athena AI was a great tool for me and other introverts alike. It is truly all-inclusive. For that i would like to show my gratitude to Matt Delac and the She Codes family for allowing me the opportunity learn and grow ,She Codes has become my start, the foundation in my journey and its' a great way to start truly, I recommend She Codes ,more especially if you are like me, unsure of most things in life, self-doubting but curious and driven. You get more than just learning how to code, you get a feel of support .
I would highly recommend this course as it offers a lot of additional information on top of the Bascis Workshop! Matt is such a great teacher. His explanations are clear and simple and he makes the learning journey fun and interesting.
Really enjoyed learning Python! Very different to the other languages Matt teaches, so great to learn something different.
Another fun and challenging project! Matt explains React well, and gives you enough practice using it so you feel like the learning really stuck. It was fun as well to combine two different API's in one project
