“It feels good to introduce yourself as "a woman in tech!" (After learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript basics, that is me!). I am a passionate young woman in Kenya who is passionate about technology! Going to university, I picked a tech program (Bachelor of Technology specializing in Surveying Technology), and my dream was to be tech-intensive. Let's say my dreams got stuck in dreamland. I am not saying I did not enjoy it, but the tech part is debatable. Being selected for the SheCodes scholarship has been my happiest moment because we all know coding courses cost a fortune to an unemployed adult! Anyway, on the real deal, the SheCodes Basics course has made and surpassed my expectations. My passion for coding and my dreams of becoming a Geospatial Data Scientist (WebGIS deals with developing GIS websites) have doubled. Unlike before, I can confidently say I know how to interact with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Of course, I mean simple codes. I am far from making complex interactions, but I am getting there one step at a time. I just wanted to let you know that I will get there someday. Matt is an extraordinary tutor; his way of explaining complex things in simpler terms to a total beginner is just magical. He has made my lessons exciting and easy to comprehend complicated stuff.
