Celebrating Our 2024 SheCodes Graduates: The Queens of Code 👸

We’re thrilled to introduce a new initiative by some of our SheCodes Foundation Graduates! 🎓 On August 3rd, 2024, a group of SheCodes alumni in Johannesburg, South Africa, hosted their very own SheCodes graduation ceremony. Organized by SheCodes Foundation student Gugulethu Lethimpilo Mtshali and supported by our dedicated team, these incredible students celebrated the completion of their SheCodes Workshops.

They came together to celebrate this incredible milestone, building both personal and professional skills to help them access better job opportunities. 🚀

With the support of our customer success, marketing, and design teams, these students were able to design, print, and proudly wear their own SheCodes graduation sashes.

Even though our coding workshops are entirely online, we believe that community is the foundation of success, which is why we always encourage our students to connect and support each other. This graduation event is just an example of the power the community can have, even in a digital learning environment. As the world becomes more digital, we’re thrilled to see our students step away from their screens to connect in person, and nothing makes us happier than seeing them receive their physical graduation certificates 🌟.

We know building a community online is not always easy, and not being able to meet and interact with your peers when doing an online course is definitely a struggle. The SheCodes Foundation empowers women in developing countries with coding education at no cost, helping them access more career opportunities. Just like these students from South Africa who recently celebrated their graduation, more than 50,000 women from developing countries have been supported by the SheCodes Foundation.
