How SheCodes helped Fildi Hellen transition from Student to Front-end Intern!

Meet Fildi Hellen 🇸🇸! Originally from South Sudan and currently living in Rabat-Sale-Kenitra, Morocco, Fildi Hellen is passionate about technology and enjoys listening to gospel music and animations like MSA in her free time. 🎶💻
Before starting her coding journey, Fildi Hellen was a student, already studying software engineering at a vocational school. But she knew she wanted to go further and specialize in frontend or web development, which had always fascinated her.
Her interest in technology began with a dream—to one day create an educational website to help students in South Sudan and make learning easier for them. She wanted to use technology to make a real difference.
As a refugee living in Morocco, finding accessible learning opportunities was a challenge for her and other women... That’s when a friend told her about the Delac Foundation, and she saw it as the perfect chance to grow her skills. She joined with “one heart” and a strong desire to learn. 💪

What stood out to her was how clear and easy to follow the SheCodes workshops were. She loved how each lesson helped her build real skills, and she felt proud to be part of a community that supports women in tech. Thanks to the SheCodes React workshop, she landed two internships—one remote and one hybrid. 👩💻 Her SheCodes Experience
Fildi Hellen’s experience with SheCodes was exciting and full of learning. One of the highlights for her was learning React, a skill she had always wanted to explore. 💻✨
She especially enjoyed working on the React project, which gave her the chance to put her new knowledge into practice and build something from scratch. It was both fun and challenging, and it made her feel proud of how far she had come.

🙋 How SheCodes has Helped to Change Her Life
With the help of SheCodes, Fildi Hellen was able to take a big step toward her dream career in tech. She is now working as a Front-end Intern at two companies — CodeAlpha in India 🇮🇳 and Geomatics in Morocco 🇲🇦. 🎉
In her internship, she’s building a social media clone using React, applying everything she learned during the SheCodes workshops. The skills she gained, especially in React, gave her the confidence to take on real projects and contribute to her team.
She feels proud of what she’s accomplishing and excited about what lies ahead. Learning to code didn’t just give her a new skill — it gave her a path forward and a chance to bring her ideas to life. 🚀
👩💼 Advice to Future SheCodes Student
Fildi Hellen has a simple but powerful message for future SheCodes students: keep learning, no matter what situation you are in. 💪 Whether things are easy or challenging, staying curious and motivated will help you move forward.
Thanks to SheCodes, she was able to improve her JavaScript and React skills, which opened new doors and gave her the confidence to work on real projects.
