Meet Jennah 🇺🇸! Originally from the United States and currently living in Illinois, Jennah enjoys spending her free time cuddling with her cats, propagating plants, and attending her local symphony and ballet performances. 🎻
Before starting her coding journey, Jennah worked as an Elementary Music Educator before transitioning into a role as a Marketing and Communications Manager for a nonprofit organization. In that position, she was responsible for updating the organization’s Squarespace website, creating and managing content for social media and email marketing, and producing a variety of materials like press releases, digital ads, and print media.
Jennah discovered her interest in coding while working on the nonprofit's website. While she enjoyed updating the site, she found herself wanting more - more creativity, more control, and the skills to fully customize the website herself. That desire to go further is what inspired her to start learning how to code.
She discovered SheCodes while searching for ways to grow her skills and instantly felt it was the right fit. The idea of a platform built specifically to empower women to learn coding made her feel welcomed and excited. Jennah was ready to take her creativity to the next level and have fun while doing it! 🚀

🙋 How SheCodes has Helped to Change Her Life
With SheCodes, Jennah found the skills and confidence she needed to change careers and follow a new path in tech. She recently accepted a role as a Digital Growth Specialist at Myers Marketing Management, a marketing agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 💻
In her new position, she works on web design and development, while also helping with networking and advocacy for the company. It’s a role that blends her creative background with her newly developed technical skills and she couldn’t be more excited!
“I believe what got me my new position was the fact that I have such a solid portfolio. I know they were also impressed that someone with a degree in music education had hand-coded everything, as opposed to using a builder platform.”
She’s proud to say that her SheCodes portfolio played a big part in helping her land the job. 👩💼 Advice to Future SheCodes Student
Jennah’s advice for future SheCodes students is simple: trust the process. As a former educator, she was especially impressed by how well the workshops are organized and easy to follow. Her only regret? Not finding SheCodes sooner! 💡
Beyond helping her land a new job, SheCodes brought something even more meaningful into her life — a sense of excitement and purpose. Learning to code gave her a new spark, and the confidence and pride she’s gained from this journey are truly priceless. ✨
