The SheCodes Basics Workshop exceeded all of my expectations. It was straightforward and easy to follow which made it a lot more enjoyable when learning. Though I read other testimonials, I was still a bit intimidated by the idea of coding. I decided to go all in and have enjoyed learning thus far! Matt explains everything well and takes his time. If at any time a certain coding element slipped my mind I simply looked at my past challenges, homework, or at the lesson itself. I'm looking forward to how much more I will learn.
I was very excited to start this course and it did not disappoint! The lessons are easy to follow and less than ten minutes each so you do not feel overwhelmed with information and most lessons have a challenge to try out what you have just learned. The homework and projects were a fun way to bring together all the coding skills picked up in the lessons. I would recommend this course to anyone starting out in web-development!
You are very cool. The only thing I didn't like a little was that the first week's homework required using the element for three squares when hovering. We were not taught how to do this, and I tried to do it in known ways for a very long time. I tried to combine the elements in a clever way. And here is just a function that we did not learn.

SheCodes Responsive was so much fun. I had fun doing every lesson, challenge and homework. It was particularly exciting opening a website on my phone and see that I made it responsive. Will definitely be using the knowledge acquired here on every other website I code.
It was a great experience to start learning coding with this course! If you're new in this field, like me, be sure that you have a step-by-step guide through basic HTML, CSS, and JS in an amazing community of instructors, mentors and students. Also, you are going to do lots of fun challenges, homework, and projects, which makes it very practical.
SheCodes basics was a freshening reminder of the little coding knowledge I had. The way Matt explains things so directly and understandably, with technical but also, very understandable and non-technical explanations, just eased this right in for me. I had a bit of a harder time because of the little time I had to work on this, but as the course progressed, my passion for each challenge and homework increased, until I decided to be creative and have fun with my project as well. It was a challenge, trying to figure out how to exactly turn my idea to life, and I was able to! :) The help of all the tutors, the guide of Matt, and the realization that this is something I want to do from now on led me here, and I wouldn't change it for a thing. After talking with some other individuals in tech, and how they learned coding basics, I was SO HAPPY with choosing SheCodes. The small lessons and weekly homework keep me engaged and I love that we repeat concepts over and over in different ways so it really sticks.
I came to SheCodes to learn the basics of coding, I am curious to understand more about software development and so far I've found it very interesting the way SheCodes is built by creating a community, setting homework with set deadlines and simplified lessons.

I can't believe it but I actually coded an entire webpage! Every now and then I need to build a landing page for my job and while we use templates and software to help with the heavy lifting, understanding the basics of HTML and CSS has made my life so much easier... Especially when I want to make a simple tweak like adjusting an image size. The course is broken down into comprehensive bite-sized chunks. Solutions and examples really helped me along in practicing and completing homework assignments. I really like that Matt has created practical tools, and encourages us to be self-sufficient in solving problems by pointing us to helpful resources. Highly recommended for anyone in digital marketing, or has a website!

I really enjoyed this course as a simple introduction to coding and I loved getting stuck into working on the homework, and my final project! I found I was able to lean in to my creative side, while learning a new technical skill.

Awesome introduction to React! It was great fun rebuilding the weather Application with React this time and learned so much about the React framework in the process. It's wonderful to see how same results can be achieved through different ways. I would recommend these work shops because of the Simplified explanations, the homework and challenges.
I started this studding because of the war in Ukraine. It is an easy to do a lot of homework every day when your internet connection not so good and you don’t have enough electricity in your city, but it is very helpful. Now I know how coding is working and that is not so easy, but really possible for everyone and not only for boys)
This workshop took me almost 3 months . I had times that my head was exploding because of lots of new things that Matt had been teaching. Some weeks I extended my deadlines, because I wanted to really learn everything and do my best for homeworks. I'll be honest with you, it wasn't an easy course for me, but I enjoyed every minutes of it.I learned a lot, and I can't believe I've come this far .Thanks to dear Matt and all the hardworking members of SheCodes' team.

I really liked the course! The only two things I'd personally like to see are: 1 - consistency in what's taught in the video vs what's in the assignment. A lot of the things we're supposed to do for homework wasn't taught in the video, or was taught another way, and the answer we're given is to just "google it." I know, but if we're spending $$$ on this course, this info should also be given to us on a foundational level so we know what to google in the first place, and 2 - I'd love to see more "practice projects" that we can do that aren't necessarily graded, but we can maybe submit in a different slack channel for our peers to weigh in.
I've learned so much and had so much fun doing the homework and project. I can't wait to start on the other lessons.
This program went above and beyond my expectations. The lessons are both challenging and achievable and create a real sense of progression. Having a homework every week creates a commitment to the program and the final project is a good opportunity to explore and create. I just want to learn more now!
Way better than I expected! I already knew a few basics of HTML but this definitely helped me understand so much more. The homework got harder each time so it was really nice and challenging. I'll be considering the other courses!
This work shop has been a challenging one. Starting with how to start using React and deploying it, and then to changing a bit of the ways you code. I had to keep reminding myself of when we are using React and when to use JSX. Luckily the videos and the SheCodes staff through Slack has been a life saver! I recommend the work shops because of the helpful explanations on why the codes work this way and not that way, and the homework and challenges will keep you on track.

SheCodes basics was a good way to revise the few things I had learned here and there with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It solidified my basics and I learned new things too. Very clearly explained, easy to follow for people that do not have any knowledge on coding and if necessary help is available, which is great. Also love the challenges after each new topic to pratice them directly, and in the end the homework to summarize all the info.

This workshop is really fun and challenging. I gained a lot of knowledge and was able to learn how to code at my own pace. I love how I was able to get extensions when on the homework when I felt I wasn't getting the material. These extensions help me with not feeling pressured or rushed to know how to code and I was able to produce an accurately working application.
A great way to get started with the basics of coding and play around with basic webpage design! Having to submit homework regularly keeps you engaged.
Best beginners workshop ever! I truly enjoyed every minute of this journey, and even though I did come across some challenges, the manner in which this workshop is structured made overcoming those challenges very easy. Matt is a really great instructor, & the support from the SheCodes team was also very helpful. The entire experience was wonderful. I was able to apply what I had learned to the challenges, and when I ran into problems, I would refer back to the videos. If I still couldn't figure out the problem, the question had probably already been asked on Slack, which was very useful. I also appreciated how quickly they provided feedback on the homework and pointed out your errors. The feedback, as well as having other students inquire what I was struggling with, made the experience less frightening and increased my interest.
Matt's lessons are very well presented and easy to understand. This course allows you to learn while watching, with hands on challenges and homework. It is also nice to have help when needed on Slack.

I have always been so scared of coding, it looks so intense. SheCodes made coding not only fun but easy to understand. I found myself so excited to get to the next lesson and learn more. Matt does an amazing job explaining and breaking down all of the areas you need to code successfully. I do not think I have ever taken a course where the homework didn't feel like homework! With SheCodes the weekly homework assignments just added to the experience. The final project was so much fun to piece together. There were definitely moments I got stuck but Matt is an excellent teacher and prepares you with all of the tools you will need to hand in a successful project! I truly enjoyed the course in its entirety.

I really liked the SheCodes workshop. Matt kept the lessons easy to understand. He was a great instructor. I also liked that you had always a homework to submit because that keeps you practicing. I once needed help with something and I asked for help on Slack within an hour or so I got an response it was really helpful. The Slack community is great. I think SheCodes is really great for absolute beginners and I would highly recommend it. Before SheCodes I knew completly nothing about coding and now I understand how it works and I want to learn more.

SheCodes workshop was my first contact with coding and I strongly recommend it! They use a simple language to teach, you have support 24/7 and with the Homeworks you are also able to apply what you have learned by your own. I will definitely enroll to a second workshop soon.
Great workshop! I finished the three week class in less than a week because I was having fun solving the puzzles and learning something new. It was a bit addictive to be honest. 😊 The pace of the class was perfect. Matt gave us enough information without going too slowly and the homework was challenging without being overwhelming.

I really enjoyed taking the SheCodes basic workshop. I had a lot of fun coding the little challenges and the end of the week homework. I was really busy during the time period of the workshop and had to do most of the challenges and homework last minute, but the explanation was so detailed that I did not struggle as much as I taught I would. I really appreciate that Matt himself is teaching the classes and helping his students through the basics of coding. This is a website I would recommend to any women that are interested in coding.

It's always fun logging in to learn new things, especially with how easy the lessons are made. I really liked the way the homework is reviewed at the end and would recommend it to anyone who would like to take a comfortable first step in tech.
I have tested out a few other coding courses online but always ended up leaving and searching for a new one. Matt explained everything perfectly and even taught me how to do additional research to make my websites even better than what the homework requires me to do. The support from the SheCodes team was also a wonderful experience for me, I felt comfortable knowing that my questions are always welcome. I have been logging on every day for 2-3 weeks straight and I actually enjoy learning here, I will be completing the advanced workshops.

Quick way to get a basic knowledge in html, css and javascript; The workload is absolutely fine while working full-time, however you need to block some time for the challenges and homework. Sometimes it took me a bit longer than expected but it's absolutely manageable. Matt's videos are great, easy to follow and actually quite entertaining, I also really liked that the videos aren't too long so you can stay focused and take some breaks in between.
Absolutely loved the Responsive course. I already did SheCodes Basic and Plus, and Responsive is my favorite one so far! Learning all the Bootsrap tricks, deploying the website to Github, transforming a Figma design into code, and improving overall coding skills really make this programming journey rewarding. I learned a lot and really enjoyed creating the Portfolio webpage, so much that I even created two: my personal portfolio page, and an artist page. The course is very well constructed – the instruction videos by Matt are concrete and easy to follow, and are a really clear explanation for the corresponding homework assignments. When getting stuck, it was really easy to reach out to tutors and get all the help I needed on Slack, a special thanks for that!
I started this course with zero knowledge of coding, but after completing the course I have developed a great interest in it! The lessons were interesting without being too long, and the homework element of the course meant I was constantly engaged with the material.
