This was the most fun I've had in a while! After learning so many new things in the previous courses, this project reminded me of the power of pure HTML and CSS. Being able to build a website without JavaScript was really satisfying! Diving into CSS Grids, HTML tables, and figuring out how to make it all responsive was incredibly fun and rewarding!

I struggled initially with HTML structure, specifically fixing div closures and getting card layouts with embedded maps to display consistently. The Responsive course final project was challenging yet totally fun! The knowledge I gained in Bootstrap directly applies to making any website responsive, and it showed me how many options you have to design a website based on your preferred style. The section on wireframes was incredibly useful and has me thinking constantly about how I can improve the design for users visiting my site. Another great learning experience!
Hands down one of my favourite workshops. The workshops have been arranged so that you can get to this point. If you were to start here without any background in coding you would feel like you were on a different plane. Everything that we were taught from the beginning with HTML, CSS, Javascript embedded code from Google Fonts and Font Awesome set us up to be able to understand how to use Bootstrap, Responsive as well as other platforms. I am so very proud of myself and all that I have accomplished so far. A huge thank you to Matt and the team. I am nearing the end of my SheCodes journey as a student and will soon hopefully start a chapter as a Junior Developer. I feel confident, hopeful and excited to enter it and it's all because of these fantastic workshops. To other students out there, I donβt know where you may be on your learning journey whether you are a student or thinking about becoming one. An exciting workshop with plenty of challenges. I learned how to make a multipage website complete with navigation bar and footer incorporating social media links. I used Bootstrap, Wireframes and other tools. It was satisfying to see it become fully responsive for both mobile and desktop. It put my troubleshooting to the test too. I was proud that I managed to solve an issue that came up by myself by really examining all the code ,researching until I finally asked myself the right question. I was pleased with the final result .

I came to SheCodes Basics with a frustrating problem: I could copy and paste code snippets and make things work, but I had no real understanding of why they worked or how to fix them when they broke. I was essentially a code copier, not a programmer. This surface-level approach left me constantly hitting walls. When something didn't work as expected, I'd spend hours trying random solutions from Stack Overflow without understanding the underlying logic. I could build functional pages by piecing together tutorials, but debugging felt like pure guesswork. SheCodes Basics changed that completely. Matt's teaching approach focuses on the "why" behind every concept, not just the "how." Instead of just showing us syntax, he explained the reasoning behind HTML structure, the cascade in CSS, and the logic flow in JavaScript. This foundational understanding was exactly what I'd been missing.Now when I encounter issues, I can methodically identify where things are going wrong instead of randomly trying solutions. I understand the connection between HTML structure and CSS selectors, why JavaScript functions behave certain ways, and how different parts of a webpage interact with each other. Building the tribute website for my Akita Inu, Sakura, became an exercise in applying these debugging skills in real time.
