The SheCodes React course has been an incredible six weeks. Matt has a rare ability to take complex concepts and make them feel approachable, always guiding you through the journey step by step, no matter the challenge. What excited me most was discovering a completely new way of thinking about code. Learning to build with components, manage state, map through live data, and structure a full component tree unlocked a new level of thinking about how web products are built. The moment things started clicking — functions inside functions, components talking to each other — was really satisfying. React made me want to keep building. Learning React proved to be the most challenging aspect of my journey so far. I appreciate the support, patience, and knowledge-sharing from the SheCodes team, which significantly helped my understanding of this framework.
This was admittedly a challenging workshop, but extremely worth it! I'm really pleased with my final project. As with all the previous workshops, the guidance and support from the team was excellent. Matt does a really great job of breaking things down in order to explain the "plumbing" of how a react app works and describing what the code is doing at certain stages, (such as in the case of how the props are passing through to the other components and how the useStates help to set and define the data for further functions to operate). It made it really accessible and digestible to someone who still feels relatively new to coding!

I was devastated I couldn't study IT this year due to financial issues. However, when I was introduced to SheCodes by a relative, I was ecstatic! There was another method I could learn how to code. This has quite possibly been the most rewarding of all the SheCodes workshops so far! Matt does a really fabulous job of guiding you step by step through the process of building your own fully responsive and professional looking portfolio page. I also really appreciate how honest the video tutorials are in that Matt doesn't edit out any of the "oops, something's not working in my page/ my code has crashed" moments, not hiding the reality of how common place it is for all Developers of all experience levels to inevitably encounter problems that require a little problem solving. This Responsive Add-on course was a wonderful continuation of the Responsive workshop. It helped me deepen my understanding of how to refine layouts and create more polished responsive pages using CSS Grid and media queries. I particularly enjoyed focusing on the small design details that make a page feel structured and user-friendly across different screen sizes. The final project was especially meaningful for me because it allowed me to create a responsive landing page honouring the ‘Mothers of Technology’ and celebrating the women who helped shape the foundations of our digital world. I also enjoyed integrating elements such as embeds and responsive media into the page while adapting and refining the layout throughout the project. I had very little coding experience; the last time I touched HTML was editing my blog as a teenager. Curious and eager to learn, I joined the SheCodes course. The lessons are easy to follow, and each challenge really helped me understand things better. Learning at my own pace let me go back and re-study anything I didn’t get the first time. I loved every hands-on project, and by the end, I couldn’t believe I had built a fully functional landing page for my favourite Formula 1 team. It was such a confidence boost and made me excited to keep coding!

Loved this! I honestly can't rate the support features provided by the SheCodes team highly enough! I used the Athena AI for the first time when I ran into some difficulty importing a package to my HTML for Javascript and it helped me resolve the issue within about 10 minutes. These courses really are so well paced. Suitably challenging but feels accessible at the same time. The endless resources provided also help enormously!

Great course, simple to follow along with. There are some very challenging parts in this week's project but the She Codes team are really responsive and available to help. This is my final project and can't recommend the Bootcamp course enough. I went from almost zero knowledge to a full portfolio and the readiness to change career. Completing the SheCodes Plus Add‑on has been a really rewarding experience that helped me deepen my understanding of front‑end development in a practical, hands‑on way. Over the two weeks, I learned how to work with more advanced JavaScript concepts and apply them to build a fully functional World Clock application. In Week 1, I explored new HTML input types and select elements, which helped me understand how to create more interactive and user‑friendly forms. I also learned how to use JavaScript timing events, work with different date formats, and handle global time zones — all skills that felt technical at first but became much clearer through the structured lessons and challenges. Week 2 brought everything together through the World Clock project. I built the layout using HTML and CSS, then added JavaScript to display the time for single and multiple locations, update the clock in real time, and show the user’s local time. Seeing the project come to life step by step really boosted my confidence and showed me how these individual skills combine to create something polished and functional. The Plus Add‑on has strengthened my understanding of advanced JavaScript and improved my ability to build interactive features from scratch. Designing a dark theme was a fun and motivating experience. It allowed me to think ahead about future improvements and encouraged me to learn more about different styling approaches and how they are implemented in code. I also enjoyed experimenting with animations alongside the dark theme, which helped me explore how small interactive details can improve the user experience. Although working with JavaScript can be challenging to understand when writing it, it motivates me to keep practising and improving my understanding of how functions work, as it has the potential to do so much. I was always curious about coding, and I wanted to learn more, so I decided to attend this class and it did not disappoint. Having no prior knowledge to any of this stuff, sometimes it was hard, but seeing it all come together in a project at the end, I can say it was worth it. I’ve just finished my next SheCodes course and I can genuinely say it’s one of the most confidence-boosting things I’ve done in a long time. I went from “I vaguely know what HTML is” to building and deploying a fully working web app with JavaScript, APIs, and proper UX logic — and somehow enjoying the debugging along the way (stockholm syndrome, maybe?). What I loved about SheCodes is that it doesn’t just tell you what to type — it explains why. So when something broke (and it did, repeatedly!), I wasn’t panicking… I was actually able to reason my way through it. By the end, I’d built a Tattoo Concept Generator that takes user input, handles loading states and errors, and is live on the internet — which still feels a bit surreal. The lessons are clear, practical, and friendly without being patronising. You’re encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, and improve things step by step, which made everything click in a way tutorials never had for me before. If you’re curious about coding but slightly terrified of it, SheCodes is a brilliant place to start. React add on course was quite challenging for me. It required me to think critically. There were times i even got headaches because i was failling to figure out were i was getting it all wrong. Fortunately, SheCodes has a platform called Slacks where you can ask all challenging questions and get help from the Shecodes team and team mates. Would like to thank Matt for this opportunity. Although I hold a degree in Computer Engineering, I never had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in frontend development over time, that gap affected my confidence and made returning to the IT industry feel challenging. It was a very challenging workshop especially for someone like me who is relatively new to coding. The step-by-step lesson videos, the SheCodes site resources, and the support staff team on Slack helped guide me to successfully complete my final project. It feels very rewarding to complete this phase of my journey of learning to code.
I didn't think it was possible to create an AI using html, js and css. It's been a revolutionary journye. I am really glad i studied even with me asking for so many extensions. A valuable workshop with yet more complexity and new challenges. I really enjoyed learning how to embed maps, videos and social media to a web page and making it responsive. I created a page with multiple sections and used grids to organise the content. It was satisfying to produce a professional standard site and use industry tools. Excellent instruction, guidance and team support when needed. I am building the confidence in fixing bugs when they occur.
I really enjoyed building the dictionary application as challenging as it was. I look forward to learning more React concepts in the future. Thank you to the SheCodes Team for the continuous guidance.

This course has elevated my coding skills to an advanced level! I have learned how to code websites using HTML, JavaScript and CSS in a matter of months, considering that my previous experience with them was minimal. The lessons are organised very well, so that you always understand what is going on and the material you have studied really sticks in your head. From my experience, the SheCodes team is very responsive and helpful, as well as Athena AI, making the learning process so much easier.
