This was by far the most challenging workshop of them all, however the step by step guidance helped a lot. There's still a lot of learning to be unlocked on React. I'm happy I pulled through.
Certainly, this has been the biggest challenge on this bootcamp. Coding with React has shown me that it is possible to do everything that I had already learned in a more practical way, wich doesn't mean that it was easier to grasp the language's logic. Nonetheless, I truly enjoyed this process and I am also so happy to be getting nearer to the end point of this bootcamp. Once again, thank you, Matt!

It has been a tough road balancing school with React. I definitely didn't think it would be this hard, but I made it.

This project was a game changer, it required me to go back to previous workshops and actually understand the concept of React. And I liked the fact that our instructor was using a different API than ours. So this was not just following our instructor it was actually testing, deleting, coding and deleting again and recapping before it all made sense. The little struggle was worth it and I am confident in my skills now.

This was a tough one! My first project using React application. Very challenging but a lot of fun! Matt, allowed us to figure things out ourselves at the same time guiding us through the entire project. He is an excellent teacher. Very excited to continue with more coding adventures! ^_^

Building this dictionary app was a fantastic deep dive into core React concepts. I went from understanding the theory to applying it in a real, functional project. The foundation was built on breaking the UI into reusable components and managing the flow of information between them using props. A huge part of this project was managing state with the useState hook. I used it for everything from tracking the user's search term to handling loading and error states. I got a lot of practice with rendering dynamic data by mapping over arrays from the API to display lists of definitions, synonyms, and photos. I also implemented more advanced features, like conditional rendering to show results only after a search and handling user events to create an interactive, clickable photo gallery.
I learned alot in this workshop. I tried to learn react in other platforms. But I am admitting that this workshop was the most intuitive and it had easy to understand flow. Thanks sheCodes team and Matt for teaching us in this way. It is very easy to grasp things. React itself is very difficult but I think I grasped most of the concepts by heart.

This add on really brought everything together, it was great getting an extra practice round with react and combining everything I learned
It's not what I expected. Finishing this course teaches me nothing practical about building a real-world website, like connecting with a database, authentication, etc. The courses (including add-ons) repeat the same stuff without offering anything new. Maybe the vanilla HTML, CSS, and JS are valid, but I would need to get different providers to build anything functional in real life to start my own business. Note that the world has moved on to TailwindCSS and Next.js, and SheCodes has not updated the content. Very expensive for learning super basic vanilla HTML, CSS and JS and an absolute beginner in React.

Challenging! The walk-through videos were definitely needed in order for me to complete this course and I had help from Slack too! I would need to practice React coding more to feel confident in it but it is a really great introduction and shows you the capabilities of this form of coding.

I like that Matt keeps it simple but mentions how to continue if one is interested - e.g. he mentioned state management for the unit switch and this helped me investigate and make the switch work with a few more clicks. :)

I feel the pace of this course went too quickly. The advanced level of React requires multiple tries after continuous failings and retries. I don't have anything positive to say right now after being completely frustrated during the entirety of this course. Perhaps this is just not for me.
SheCodes React Add-on brought me back to the classic SheCodes rhythm Iβve loved over the last six months. After the first React courseβs fast pace, this add-on felt focused and hands-onβclear lessons followed by building. We integrated new APIs and built something different from my earlier projects, and by the end React really clicked for me. Iβm happy to finish one of my final courses on a high note and excited to keep shipping React apps.
The React workshop was not my favorite part of the workshop. I found it quite confusing, especially when it came to setting up the environment and understanding how everything fits together. Iβm still in the process of grasping its concepts, and honestly, I havenβt enjoyed it much so far. That said, I am willing to give it time and grace, and I believe that with continued practice and patience, I will eventually make progress and become more comfortable with React.
It was a good learning curve adjusting the code of my vanilla JS weather app to React. I built it with Vite since the suggested create-react-app has been deprecated, and the tutorial videos of this workshop haven't been updated in a few years it seems, so I wanted to try to learn up-to-date methods, which meant using React, Vite and Netlify documentation and YouTube videos to learn what I needed to complete this project in React.
The SheCodes React course was challenging and moved quickly. While the early weeks felt a little disorganized and not always aligned with the homework, the last two weeks returned to the strong SheCodes style Iβve seen in other classes, walking us through an app step by step. Well folks! I recently completed my responsive design class with a personal project close to my heartβa landing page celebrating my hometown of Plattsburgh, NY. From local hangouts like The Koffee Kat to the natural beauty of Lake Champlain and the Saranac River Trail, I built a mobile-friendly site that captures the charm and spirit of the community I grew up in. Now moving on to the react course to deepen my skills and bring even more flexibility and polish to future builds.

However, I was able to supplement my learning with parallel self-study, which was really helpful. Overall, it's a great and highly recommended course.
