This workshop so far it is fun, even though it took me forever to finish the first part. It is definitely worth it. It has good educators, and the short videos were a great help and came in handy.
This workshop was a great addition to learn more about how to create visual appealing and unique websites. I was able to immediately implement what I had learned and code my project alongside the videos.
This SheCodes workshop has been amazing. The videos provide in-depth explanations, and the exercises help participants stay on track with their work. It is easy to keep track of my progress and I can tell that my skills have advanced compared to when I commenced the workshops.
SheCodes definitely has to be the best Foundation ever! From someone who had no clue about coding, let alone that I wasn't even interested until I came SheCodes on TikTok and I watched a video from Matt. How amazing is Matt and the entire team???!!! I love how everything (videos from Matt) gets broken down nicely and the team is always ready and available to help. With SheCodes Plus, I had a lot going on in my private life that I didn't get to commit to the deadlines. But I am grateful for the extensions that I was granted. Today I have completed my SheCodes Plus!! Can't wait for the next phase and learn more cool stuff. Even though sometimes I forget that I am learning. Thank you for making coding fun for someone who was not even interested.
The Shecodes Plus course was very challenging and at the same time very exciting to learn. The course was very well structured, and the videos was very easy to understand. I can easily apply the new skills that I learned to the real world. Shecodes is a excellent coding bootcamp and I would recommend the course to anyone.

I've just completed SheCodes Python Basics - and I am so glad I decided to learn with SheCodes. Matt is great, he explains everything clearly, introduces concepts well without using too much tech speak. The course is easy to follow - you can do it as quickly or as slow as you like - but having a structure, the email reminders and the slack groups make you feel more accountable than your average lessons on Coursera or Udemy. I really liked that the lesson videos are short - anywhere between 5 - 15 mins and then you practice the learn after. This really helped me learn quickly and build my confidence so I could play around to see what else I could do. I'm looking forward to completing Python Advanced next!
I really loved the Python course. Matt explains it simply and concisely. The projects were fun and kept me engaged. I was able to understand some things I'd never understood before by watching videos, which made me very happy. Now I feel confident using Python, and I’m excited to keep growing my skills 🤗🤗🤗!
The course is really engaging, and since the videos are not too long, you never feel bored. I especially appreciate the exercises after each video, as they help you apply what you've just learned right away.
I found the videos clear and easy to follow. I felt the design of the lessons was great for teaching you each piece, but also starting over to really solidify how all the pieces fit together. If you get stuck or are just looking to clarify anything, asking a question in Slack is easy and the responses are timely. The Weather App project was fun and depending on your comfort level, you are given the choice to simply show the current weather or make it more complex by also showing the forecast.
I am thrilled to have completed SheCodes Basic! It has not only enhanced my understanding of the coding/website design but also equipped me with practical skills I can apply in real-life situations. I really enjoyed watching the videos and coding with Matt, he made it very easy for me. I also appreciate all the people who helped me. I feel way more confident in my skills now and can't wait to put what I learned into action. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to deepen their knowledge and skills!
SheCodes has been very helpful in improving my knowledge in HTML and CSS. I am proud to say that this program has really improved my coding skills and it was exciting to do, to top it all off. I will say i did not go through all the lessons because I could understand what I had to do in just watching a few videos. I highly recommend SheCodes to young girls who want to pursue IT but do not have the funds to go to University or College. SheCodes has our back Girls!
Even though I could somewhat interpret basic code before, this course gave me a much deeper understanding of the ins and outs of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Inspecting an HTML page feels now much more approachable and clearer because I understand how everything works together. I really enjoyed playing around with the code, especially in the final project, where I had the freedom to create a page from scratch—it was both fun and rewarding! The engaging videos, interactive challenges, and detailed solutions made learning a breeze. I’m excited to keep building my skills and take the next step in my coding journey!
She Codes Responsive was very useful and interesting. There is always help available and the videos are easy to follow/understand.
It was good for beginners but there are things that are shown during the lesson videos, that are not explained where they come from. If they are discussed on advanced topics, they should not be shown because they create a little confusion. Also, I would recomend another type/form of help, either than slack. Threads can get a little bit chaotic.
The SheCodes plus addon course was really fun and it was easy to follow along with Matt in the videos. End product was quite impressing. 😀 Looking forward to next workshop.
I learned about the opportunity to study web development through a special aid program offered by the SheCodes foundation via the KuñaTech Instagram account, a Paraguayan organization where my compatriots aim to provide development opportunities for women in the tech field. I eagerly shared this great opportunity with other women, friends, and university classmates whom I deeply care for. Through scholarships, I am fortunate enough to have knowledge of English, which encouraged me to apply. Despite the demanding nature of my university studies, I managed to complete this first course with valuable knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which also helped me in a university subject, Software Engineering II. SheCodes classes are excellent; the videos are not too long, and the instructor explains very well. He explains concepts that can be complex in a very simple way, making them easier to understand. Additionally, his English is very clear, making it easy to follow his explanations. The deadline extensions were also a big help, as some weeks are busier than others, which sometimes made it difficult for me to focus on the course. On the other hand, I absolutely loved how everything is personalized for women, and the gender focus provided for the course has been a great source of motivation for me. Everything looks pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Another aspect I really enjoyed was learning by creating parts of a project and finishing the course by building my own project. The community is wonderful, and the tools SheCodes provides to its students are incredibly useful. I am very, very, very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited for the upcoming workshops ❤️😊
Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.
I'm still amazed that I've come so far in coding. It might not be much to some people but to me it's a big deal. I can say "I'm a Coder" now 😊. Something that seemed so scary initially, but now it's so exciting and fun to do. Please don't get me wrong there definitely were challenges along the way but the more you understand the easier it gets. I kept going back to certain lessons/videos to understand better, it was worth it in the end. I'm really excited to learn more and looking forward to the next workshops which are the SheCodes Plus and SheCodes Plus Add-On.
I loved the new SheCodes Python course! I liked the pacing, the explanatory videos and also the challenges. Furthermore, the Slack community with all the great ladies is really supportive. I am looking forward to the Advanced Python course!

This was the perfect boost to my coding skills! I built a single-page responsive website from scratch, learning how to make my designs look great on any device. I also discovered how to use embeds, which added interactive elements like videos and maps to my project seamlessly. Loving it! Python was an eye opener, what a wonderful program. Lessons were clear, sometimes it went really fast....but the advantage of online learning with videos following a teacher explaining the live coding really helps. You can pause and watch them again.

I like how it lets me focus on problem-solving with the tools we've been shown (and some we've been taught to find on our own) instead of rote memorization. I enjoy the videos, but I'm always most excited to get my hands on the challenges and homework.
SheCodes Plus was wonderful. It builds a lot on the basic knowledge that I have gained in Basics and Basics Plus workshops. This Workshop was challenging but also very rewarding and I appreciate how the workshop teaches you to troubleshoot your issues with the build, as well as being creative in finding the solutions through the research online ( both vital when this knowledge will be applied in real life projects). Everything finally comes together in the Plus workshop - how is it that pages are created and how is it that they are hosted and updated. Coming from the UX world this opens my understanding about development so much. Don't hesitate to watch the videos that you find challenging at 0.75 speed, for me I had to do so for JS elements and i am glad that this feature is enabled for the videos! I am excited about Plus Add-on that is coming up next!

I have been trying to learn programming for the past year. I tried watching YouTube videos and signed up for bootcamps, but I found it very difficult to grasp the content, especially understanding the basics of coding. It was overwhelming at first, until I joined SheCodes. Matt has been a lifesaver! SheCodes unpacked HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in such a clear way that I fell in love with coding. I’m incredibly grateful to Matt for giving me this opportunity and for being an outstanding teacher. Now, I’m excited to start my SheCodes Basics Add-On workshop! 🥰.
Ever since I got into SheCodes coding has been easy to understand and the videos are short and simple very beginner friendly. I look forward to seeing what's to come.
While I did learn a tonne in this course, the teaching style didn't totally resonate for me. I found a lot of the videos too brief and the explanations and visuals slightly erratic and redundant so I always had to use alternative sources to get explanations for the why behind things in order to understand what I was doing. I understand the thought process behind having us search for answers for some things beyond what was taught but I found there was quite a bit of 'do this as I do', but without the sufficient reasoning behind it, which personally my brain has a hard time with! But I did benefit a lot from all of the information provided and from the course structure with all the challenges and homework. The deadlines especially kept me on track! If I was just trying to learn coding on my own from online resources I would not have accomplished this much this fast!
Another fantastic course, definitely got very challenging towards the end but following the step by step videos really helped. Excited to keep on learning!

What a rollercoaster!! I swear there were days when I thought I wouldn't make it through the 8 weeks but I just kept pushing. Videos are interactive and challenges are amazing with helping putting the knowledge to work. It's a long way but the results at the end are so worth it. I can't wait to learn more!🥳💃🏽
When I started, I had little knowledge about coding, however, it is something I found interesting regarding the fact that I aspire to one day become a UX designer. Matt truly made the course easy to understand, now I am able to understand when I am watching videos on You tube. I also enjoyed the fact that we were given small challenges to do after every topic, which made the course work fun to learn. The entire team of She Codes is exceptional in what they do, and I would highly recommend this coding academy to any female who wants to learn about coding.

I liked React because it's structured and well-organized. It's inspired me for my own projects, and opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Also, Matt's humor in the videos to motivate us not to give up made me laugh. I recommend this workshop even if it was complex.
Instruction videos are great to follow. Good analogies used, to help understand concepts, eg. variables being a box that you can assign to put different stuff in.

Having done some Python previously, the workshop was a decent way to expand on my knowledge in a bit more of a structured way. I DIYed the final project before watching the videos and found it a fun challenge.
My journey with SheCode has been amazing, learning to code has been a transformative experience. At first i was hesitant i dont want to lie but as time goes i started to enjoy coding special if you have an instructor like Matt, his videos explain everything in details and the lesson challeges really boosted my confidence.I really appreciated that if i got stuck with my code i was able to ask Athenna or the Slack communities. Joining SheCode has really helped me with the career path i want to take next.
When I started the foundation, I knew nothing about coding and became demotivated. I had given up for a couple of months and decided to try again, this time taking proper notes and having an open mind to learn. With this approach, this has been the best time to learn and understand the material. I am in a better space to testify to my knowledge and I am able to apply it without constantly going back to the learning videos and revising

The plus program was such a great follow up to the SheCodes basics. I feel like I learned so much and the videos explained everything really well. This was a 10/10 experience and I can't wait to continue learning and growing as a future software developer!
I've just completed the Python Basics course, which I liked but didn’t love. The instructional videos with Matt were definitely educational, and I learned a lot of theory. However, I felt the course lacked practical exercises, which I believe is the most important aspect of coding. Some videos included homework that took only a few minutes, while others had no practice at all. As an absolute beginner, I managed to get through the course by copying Matt (and leaning on AI), but I don’t feel confident applying these skills in the real world.
I used to think AI is over one's head ,but when i watched videos and followed instructions i then realized that its not how i thought , with the help of Matt
This is such a great course, which has taught me so much over the past 3 weeks. I would recommend this course to everyone! Matt is a great tutor and having the videos means you can refer back to them when necessary. Also, Slack is such a super resource and you can find the answer to most questions on there.

It was extremely exciting learning how to work with API. I have to thank Matt for making the videos easy to follow and the information so digestible. Even though there were challenging moments, the feeling of satisfaction at fixing the errors in my code and having my project run smoothly far outweighs the moments of frustration.

It's been an amazing journey learning with Shecodes despite taking a long break in between due to busy work schedules, the learning videos are very helpful for revision and catch ups. Also, Matt is doing a great job with the tutoring, for someone like me coming from an accounting background and with zero coding experience, I can now boast that I have a great insight into the world of coding.

This was a great course. It was easy to follow along with the videos and I really felt I was learning a lot throughout. I definitely need to keep working on my skills but this was a nice foundation to have. I would definitely recommend this course to others who are interested in becoming Software Engineers or are just interested in learning about the topic.
