I took this starter class as part of my professional development as a brand manager. I have dabbled very lightly in HTML and a little bit of CSS in the past but nothing too in-depth. I, like many other students, found the course structure very helpful! With as complex a topic as this, Matt does an excellent job of breaking down the different skills in very digestible chunks. The lesson videos are never more than 10 minutes or so, and he provides so many resources to find help, connect with other students, or learn the basic tools that are industry standards. The way he walked through each video was also very encouraging and I never felt dumb. I honestly found the course not too challenging (not to say I didn't get slightly held up at points) which I think is a testament to how well taught it is. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team!

This weekβs workshop/project around building a World Clock was by far the most challenging for me. The learning curve felt steep, and I quickly realized that Matt wasnβt exaggerating when he said that working with dates, and understanding them, is impressive because of how complex it can be! Iβm really glad I pushed through it all within the week, though. It forced me to fully immerse myself in the code and experiment with different approaches, which helped deepen my understanding.

I joined SheCodes feeling quite intimidated by code, but this workshop changed that completely. The lessons are short, clear, and very well structured, and I really like how each concept is followed immediately by a small exercise or project. Building real projects with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (like the landing page with dark/light mode and animations) helped me understand why I was writing each line of code, not just copying it. Mattβs explanations are friendly and motivating, and the platform makes it easy to follow along at my own pace. This was a wonderful course project. Matt's explanations is so clear. We built the project one step at the time. It's great that it's recorded, so when the recording screen doesn't match what I see on my computer, I can back the recording and analyze where it went wrong. Often it's a typo. In his book Atomic Habits, author James Clear mentions the research work of psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi on "flow states." The idea is that humans do best when a task is about 4-5% greater than their current abilities, enough to be engaged and prevent boredom but not so challenging that the person gets frustrated and gives up. Matt has a very good intuition for this. Each lesson or challenge contains just enough of an increase in difficulty to build confidence and encourage the student to keep learning.

The past few weeks on this have been an incredible learning experience! From revising HTML/CSS/JS to diving into APIs and using them to integrate data into the app, the design of this workshop was very helpful. Having the chance to work on the project alongside Matt, who was working on his own, made a huge difference. It helped avoid bugs and provided the benefit of having a (kind of) coding partner. The explanations were thorough and easy to follow. I am amazed at how this learning process has given me the confidence to code an entire website. The last time I did it, I used WordPress, and everything seemed so confusing β doable, but confusing, because I didnβt understand the background of what I was doing. But now, I can build it from scratch and personalize everything I need and want. This is the first step in the creation of my portfolio website and, as an Architect, a step that gives me full freedom to display my Projects in the way I see fit for them. This project was so hard to build, it had a lot of complex functionalities that needed to be added. I spent a lot of hours doing trial and error, but it was worth it in the end and my project is up and running now ! Thanks to SheCodes and Matt for this learning opportunity.
I have learnt a lot whilst juggling so much. But the most important thing, is to keep going no matter what you're feeling because you'll never know what awaits you on the other side. Code your way to the top, and ignore the noise.
This was a tough one! My first project using React application. Very challenging but a lot of fun! Matt, allowed us to figure things out ourselves at the same time guiding us through the entire project. He is an excellent teacher. Very excited to continue with more coding adventures! ^_^
As with all the SheCodes courses I've done so far, this was another brilliant one! Matt's easy to follow breakdowns within each video helped me to gain a fantastic understanding of how to build a response website. It was amazing that I was able to build a portfolio project to bring together all my work ready for future opportunities.

In this workshop, i learnt about how to make my own AI generator where i find it very interesting and fulfilling . I learnt a lot and it can get a bit challenging at times but Matt's step by step guide and explanation is really helpful. I am looking forward for the next workshop!
SheCodes Plus was very detailed and I learned a lot. The way Matt breaks down the lessons step-by-step and helps you to really understand how each component works is excellent. I have tried to learn Javascript before and my eyes glazed over and my brain exploded, but the way Matt explains it makes it enjoyable and easy to digest. I also really enjoyed learning how real coders deploy their code and the terminology and tools they use. I really enjoyed this course and I highly recommend it.

In the summary of the workshop Matt said, βIf you feel frustrated, take a break and come back.β and I took many breaks, βIf you run out of inspiration, take a walk and come back.β and I took many runs, and I came back. This project was very challenging, design is not my strongest suit, and positioning is my nemesis. Facing both demons at once tested my patience and grit. Iβm not sure how I feel about my final design yet, but I am proud that I finished it. Maybe with more practice and experience, Iβll create something with more polish, but for now, completing it feels like sweet victory.
Persistent is the key to better learning. You are free to make mistakes but never give up. Thank you all the teams especially my teacher Matt Delac who always send me email that make me to sit up when i feel like relaxing and extending my homework submission dates. π π π
I just completed the SheCodes Basic Coding Course and honestly, I loved it!ππΌ The course was designed for absolute beginners and ran over three weeks. It gave me a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while introducing me to VS Code in a hands-on way. The platform was super user-friendly, and Matt Delac is an exceptional teacher. I learned alot in this workshop. I tried to learn react in other platforms. But I am admitting that this workshop was the most intuitive and it had easy to understand flow. Thanks sheCodes team and Matt for teaching us in this way. It is very easy to grasp things. React itself is very difficult but I think I grasped most of the concepts by heart.

After working as chef/recipe developer for 15 + years, I felt it was time for a career change. I had never considered a move into the tech world, but after Matt's free 1 hour workshop, it peeked my interest. With next to no IT knowledge going in, I found the course and lessons engaging, clear and easy to follow. I liked that you where encouraged to find solutions for yourself and to bring your own creativity within the requirements of the final project. Overall a good experience and I'm eager to continue my coding journey.

I learned about SheCodes when someone in one of my WhatsApp groups shared a post about a coding workshop for women in development. Although I faced challenges such as limited study time, I requested deadline extensions for homework and, later, for the workshop itself. Despite these obstacles, I completed the Basic Workshop. The video lessons were easy to learn and engaging, making me glad I registered for the workshop. This experience provides a good foundation for me as I intend to explore the use of computer programming in teaching, learning, and research. Thank you, Matt, and the team at Delac Foundation.
Building this project was quite interesting, especially when I had to integrate the API, it was a bit intense and tricky still. Adding some user experience was also a bit of a challenge, but what matters is that I did it and completed a big project using AI!

Python was a lot tougher compared to JavaScript, and I still had a blast learning this new language. I definitely will continue to practice more, as I see the value. Matt was a great teacher, and I appreciated his transparency when he would Google things. Google is a great tool, and something I relied on heavily this go round
It was a course where we put into practice not only the knowledge gained in this course, but also throughout the bootcamp. It was very interesting to learn new techniques and logic that Matt mentioned throughout the videos.
I've enjoyed my SheCodes Bootcamp journey so far. Matt's tutorials were succinct and informative. What's great is that what I've learned in three weeks has enabled me to start working on a personal web project that I've wanted to do for a long time. Well, I needed an inspiration for my SheCodes Basics final project so it's a good time to start on it even if it's only the landing page. LOL!

I can't express how much I enjoyed the SheCodes Bootcamp journey. It was not like some other training bootcamps that I have completed, where they throw everything (but the kitchen sink) at you in a short period of time. This approach doesn't really work for me as there is no time to really put into practice what you have learned. SheCodes was different, as it allowed me to pace myself and move onto the next workshop when I was ready. Matt's tutorials were clear, targeted and informative and it was a pleasure listening to him. SheCodes Responsive was a rather challenging module. Here, I got to learn and expound on my previous coding knowledge, and learn about Responsive Websites. At first, it was difficult . However, with loads of practice, I was able to perfect the coding techniques. I am grateful to Matt Delac for bein g open and honest during this module :)
I had been running away from programming for over 10 years! Every time I saw code β whether in Java, C#, or Python β my mind would automatically shut down. It always looked so complicated and exhausting! Little did I know that all I was missing was a bit of understanding. Mattβs teaching style deserves 100%! This week was full of challenges and growth for me. Understanding and getting used to adding a grid and different themes took a long time, but Iβm really glad I got there eventually. Learning with this Python module has been such an interesting challenge. After this process, I can now clearly see how to optimize day-to-day processes in my office, better organize files, and understand patterns. I joined SheCodes recently and have been thoroughly impressed by Matt's ability to break down complex concepts into smaller, easy-to-understand blocks. Each lesson video is short and to the point, and I also appreciate that there are separate sections for the 'Challenge' and the 'Solution'. Overall, it has been a great experience. I'm thrilled to have undertaken this course and to implement my learnings in a landing page; it is something I am incredibly proud of π I am excited to continue this learning journey and grow more confident in my coding skills!
