I really enjoyed the SheCodes Basic workshop. 🤗 Before starting, I had almost no coding experience apart from occasionally working with developers and hearing technical terms at work. My goal wasn’t to become a developer, but to better understand how developers think and communicate, improve collaboration, and gain a stronger foundation when discussing features or reporting issues. While I still have a lot to learn, the workshop was a motivating first step that helped me understand the basics and made coding feel much less intimidating. 👍 I’m not a particularly fast learner, and I often went back to rewatch videos or review previous lessons. However, the course was structured in a way that allowed me to keep up and gradually build up knowledge. Kudos to Matt - he's a great teacher who explains concepts clearly and in an easy-to-understand manner. The short video lessons and well-structured weekly modules never felt overwhelming.✨ One of my favorite aspects of the workshop were the mini-assignments after most lessons. They encouraged me to actively actively use what I had just learned instead of only watching videos. While I still need to look up many things, I now have a much better understanding of the fundamentals and feel motivated to continue my SheCodes journey. 🙌

This was so much fun to do and figure out. I really enjoy how Matt makes learning easy and fun.

I learned so much through this project and would highly recommend this beginner Python course. I had always assumed Python would be very complicated, but the course made it approachable and easy to follow. Matt’s calm and clear teaching style helped me feel comfortable with the basics much faster than I expected. Athena, the AI support tool, was also incredibly helpful. Whenever I was struggling to understand something, I could get immediate guidance instead of waiting. Athena helped me see where I had gone wrong and explained why another approach worked better. Matt is an excellent teacher who isn’t afraid to show when mistakes happen—something that makes the learning experience feel real and encouraging. Most importantly, he shows how to solve problems and learn from them. Overall, this is an A+ program.

The basic workshop is so easy to catch up on. The way Matt teaches step by step really helps me a lot in getting my way around the course without getting tangled up in big confusion. I truly recommend this course for people who are truly beginners in coding!

Programming was a pending milestone in my life, and I'm so happy to have achieved it thanks to the scholarship that the SheCodes Foundation and Kuña Tech kindly provided to me. AI is leverage. But leverage on what? If you don't know anything, AI doesn't save you. It just helps you ship something broken, faster. That's the trap with vibe coding. Where I was coming from I'm not a beginner. I work alongside developers. I'm doing a Computer Science master's — non-consecutive, so I'm one-eyed. Not blind. Not sharp-sighted either. I can see the shape of things, not the detail. Why SheCodes worked It doesn't drop you in a rabbit hole. You're guided, step by step, to something finished. You use AI the whole way through. But Matt explains why each part of a website matters and how it fits together. And when you want to go deeper, he points you to the right resource — he has a huge library outside the course, all of it free. That's the part most courses get wrong.

I started learning at SheCodes with the intention of becoming a developer. At first, I fell in love with front-end development, but when I joined the Python course, I realized how vast it can be. Definitely a learning curve taking on React but it has been such a rewarding challenge being able to understand more and more as we go along. It helps being able to follow along with Matt and I look forward to discovering more about React and all of it's capabilites.

Wow... what an incredible course! A lot of daunting moments, pieces to connect, and puzzling broken code along the way, but I'm very proud of the state of my weather app, with Matt's help and instruction.

I completed this course at one of the lowest points in my life — only to prove to myself that no matter how deep the hopelessness gets, as long as we are alive, hope still exists, and its roots never truly die. And one more thing I’ve learned: never become too attached to anything or anyone in life. Even the best things. Because attachment can slowly weaken a person without them realizing it. At a very young age, life forced me to learn lessons far beyond my years. And although I feel exhausted from everything life and learning have put me through, deep down, I’m still somewhat grateful for all of it.

Matt showed a fun way of working with AI within Python. It was very easy to follow and understand how to code.

As a non-programmer in a family of programmers, I feel I have a great start to learning more and a basic understanding. This course has given me that foundation. Plus Add-on workshop was really fun! I got to dive into the world of time zones and date formatting, which I honestly found fascinating. There is something satisfying about seeing a clock tick in real time on a page you built yourself. I loved working with moment.js and building my World Clock app. It felt like a real project that I could actually use and show off in friends and family.

I really enjoyed the SheCodes program. It exposed me to coding for the first time, which sparked my curiosity and shaped my perspective as a developer. While I discovered that I love and enjoy backend development more, I’m truly grateful to Matt and the SheCodes team for teaching me frontend fundamentals. Their guidance gave me the foundation I needed to explore deeper technical challenges and grow into the developer I am today.

I have always wanted to learn how to code but lacked the push to really dive into learning. Most platforms I came across for self-learning had many complex lessons and no guidance for beginners. However, that changed when I came across SheCodes. SheCodes made learning code easier through its self-paced and curated curriculum that suited my schedule. The videos were easy to follow and Matt's teaching made everything click and stick. It is not only fun, but I'm finally learning how to code!

Great extension to the basics course, shows how to integrate an AI API into your code. Matt is a great teacher, the course structure is also really good as most lessons are followed by challenges, making you put what you have learned into practice.

Before I joined shecodes..I had an idea of coding however I would not be able to finish a page without googling or checking through some sites however, I now fully understand most elements and can code off head that to in just minutes unlike before where I would take hours trying to perfect a page. The AddOn Workshop really helped to solidify what I've been learning. I was surprised how much longer it took me than I initially thought it would take. I really wanted to grasp and practice all of the concepts, which is why I didn't rush through it. Matt does a remarkable job explaining each point, which I really appreciate!

The SheCodes React Dictionary project has been such a satisfying project to build. Everything from the React course came together in one place: components, state, API integration, responsive design, and real UX thinking. I loved going beyond the brief: I designed the empty state from scratch with a custom animated SVG illustration, and added small details like synonym chips. React keeps inspiring me to build more. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team for yet another course that pushes me further than I thought I could go. 💜

It has been a challenging journey for me but the short structured lessons were of great help. I appreciate the self -paced lessons and the youtube videos attatched. They were of much help especially when it came to use of Git hub. I was supposed to have submitted my week 8 project in Jan 12 2026. Am happy I didn't quit and I have completed it in April. I say thank you to the she codes team and more importantly to Matt.

I can’t recommend SheCodes Python enough! The lessons are clear, the platform is beautiful, and the technical support is top-notch. I never thought I’d actually enjoy learning about loops and dictionaries, but the way SheCodes gamifies the learning process makes it addictive. I walked away with a solid foundation in Python and a project I’m genuinely proud of. Best investment I’ve made in myself this year! The only downside was working with Replit; it felt completely different from Matt’s explanations and often contradicted the Replit documentation, which was a bit frustrating at times.

After 5 years, I’m back with SheCodes, and it feels really good to be doing this again. Life can take you in different directions, and you don’t even realize when you drift away from things you enjoy. Sometimes you just need a little push to come back. I really enjoyed playing around with grids, image effects, and switching between light and dark mode. Matt makes everything super easy to follow, clear, relaxed, and never overwhelming. Happy to be back.

The SheCodes React course has been an incredible six weeks. Matt has a rare ability to take complex concepts and make them feel approachable, always guiding you through the journey step by step, no matter the challenge. What excited me most was discovering a completely new way of thinking about code. Learning to build with components, manage state, map through live data, and structure a full component tree unlocked a new level of thinking about how web products are built. The moment things started clicking — functions inside functions, components talking to each other — was really satisfying. React made me want to keep building. That says everything about how much this course inspired me. A huge thank you to Matt and the SheCodes team for yet another rewarding and eye-opening learning experience. I cannot wait to keep exploring how far React can take me.

Greetings everybody, initially when I joined the SheCodes workshop I was struggling with almost everything, during the workshop classes I've managed to learn to build landing pages, with skills gained during the classes, place me on cloud nine. I used to look at websites and wonder how everything worked ,the colors, the layouts, and how everything came together. I had no background in coding or computers, and it all felt like a mystery to me. But SheCodes changed that. Now I understand how it all works, and I’ve learned the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Instead of asking “who made this?”, I now confidently say, “I can create this too.” Being able to style my own pages and bring ideas to life has been such an empowering experience, especially in a world that is rapidly becoming more digital and technology-driven. This was admittedly a challenging workshop, but extremely worth it! I'm really pleased with my final project. As with all the previous workshops, the guidance and support from the team was excellent. Matt does a really great job of breaking things down in order to explain the "plumbing" of how a react app works and describing what the code is doing at certain stages, (such as in the case of how the props are passing through to the other components and how the useStates help to set and define the data for further functions to operate). It made it really accessible and digestible to someone who still feels relatively new to coding!

Loved learning about Python, I find myself thinking about the coding and challenges during the day, being 54 I thought I couldn't grasp SheCodes courses, Matt Delac, has made the lessons really good to follow, looking forward to moving onto the other courses. Thank you SHECODES team

The pace is great, you can adapt to it according to your availability and even if you already know the basics, the lessons are not boring at all, you only will finish faster than expected and then move on to the next one! I am loving it so far and yet have so much to learn, thank you!

This was a really cool exercise. Easy to follow along but also having the freedom to try different things because Matt shared the resources needed during the lessons.
