I absolutely had no clue what I was doing the first day. I was always intrigued by coding, just never thought I would give it a go. Now here I am trying to absorb as much as possible excited to continue learning. Everyone at SheCodes makes you feel welcomed. It’s wonderful to have accessibility to help, examples, and different tools to make sure you succeed. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get started.
The workshop was pretty easy to follow overall, which is great for beginners or those with no coding experience such as myself. I feel the activities at the end of each lesson definitely helped with my understanding of the topic at hand. It was also quite flexible - especially with the option of extensions made available - as my schedule was unexpectedly busy during the workshop duration. All in all, I would definitely recommend this workshop as a great starting point to one's coding journey :)
Great format based on a mix of explanatory videos, challenges to apply everything instantly and homework to really get practical with an awesome community for support - could not recommend more and excited to continue the journey.

When I started my personal blog, a few years ago, that's when I had my first contact with HTML. I found it absolutely amazing to be able to manipulate the elements as I wished. Even though I learned (proactively) very little at the time, it proved to be useful in my day-to-day work. So, I've always felt the desire to learn more coding. This workshop exceeded all my expectations! Matt is absolutely amazing and has a gift for captivating and reassuring anyone who is most fearful. I highly recommend this workshop and hope to have the opportunity to continue to learn and apply what I've learnt in my day-to-day!

I also recommend it to those who have gotten a basic foundation in coding through free online resources or courses, but for some reason it hasn’t quite ‘clicked’ yet. This course put HTML, CSS and JavaScript into perspective for me and gave way to that ‘ah-ha!’ moment where it all made sense. SheCodes has a great structure. It breaks down everything step-by-step, so that when you learn something more advanced, it builds on your prior knowledge and you intuitively know how to apply it to the homework. SheCodes is also an incredibly flexible program, which was very helpful for someone like me- pursuing SheCodes on top of part-time schooling and a full-time workload. I never thought that development or anything remotely IT-related would be for me, but when I saw the free course advertised I thought I have nothing to lose by looking into it. After the free introduction I was inspired to see what it was all about, for nothing more than to prove to myself I was able to! I have really enjoyed every part of the course and learning something new. I'm thinking of upgrading to one of the more advanced courses in the near future, as Matt's teaching style suits me down to the ground. I like that he shows why things don't work, and sets challenges which make you think. You are given the tools to fix errors and find good online guidance on your own, and that is invaluable. I would definitely recommend this course.

Initially I was quite sceptical about this but I gave it a shot as I had nothing to loose and no I strongly recommend this workshop to all the ladies that were afraid that they are "too stupid" to code. NO girl, YOU CAN DO THIS! You set up your own pace and Matt explains everything down to the dot. The weekly assignments are simple but yet challenging. I came to this thinking that I can't code because it's too technical, too this, too that. Before I even finish my first week I had bought the React pack! My final project was an ode to unicorns and fully dedicated to my niece, so you learn to code AND get to be the best & favourite aunt 😉

Great course and my goodness so much to learn. Online courses can be a bit frustrating simply because you cannot just raise your hand and get immediate help. The waiting process to get help at times is several hours but I would still recommend this course.

SheCodes Basics was a fantastic way for me, as a Product Manager, to gain a better understanding of the technical side of my job and improve my knowledge of what developers do. The first week was quite intense but manageable, and the team are always on hand if you are struggling with any of the lessons. I'd highly recommend this course.
Before SheCodes, I knew less than nothing about coding. Now I got at least a basic knowledge about how coding works. Women tend to work in jobs outside of tech, with lesser payment. I want to improve my knowledge further and give my daughter, when she is older, the opportunity to learn coding, so she can decide if tech is something she wants to do in the future. I highly recommend the course!

The React workshop was definitely challenging, but who doesn't love a good challenge? I know I do.
