I really enjoyed the course! The combination of challenges and homework was great for reinforcing what I had learned, and the freedom to create something unique during the final project made the experience even better. The content was well-paced and easy to follow without feeling overwhelmed. I also appreciated the encouragement to go beyond the lessons and explore additional effects through self-directed research, which made the learning process more engaging.
This course is easy to follow and my favorite part will always be the challenges and homework assignments. Even though it is titled a basic course, I've learned more than I've expected over the course of these few weeks.
This was the hardest one yet but I really enjoyed all the homework more especially the project. It was one of those "Omg did I really do that", Matt as usual explains everything so clearly you just have to focus and go back to a lesson video if you're confused but more often than not your answer lies in rewatching the lessons.
I was very disappointed with Shecodes Advanced Python. The teaching style and the course content need a lot of improvement. There is not enough teaching material for 1 week. Moreover the homeworks are very easy and do not require any additional reading or trouble shooting.
Its been fun and engaging even though its an online course, setting mini challenges and weekly homework keeps you going through the course.
SheCodes has taught me the invaluable lesson of discipline. The instructional videos simplify complex concepts, making them easy to grasp. This is my third course with SheCode and as always I learn so much through practical exercises. The course is engaging and the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when you finish a project or even homework is amazing.
I love the short but intense lessons. The Homework deadlines helped motivate to finish everything on time. Knowing that there is help, or an extension available made the homework assignments less stressful.
The homework and tasks you get after the instructions are challenging, but Matt goes through every step with care which makes it extra exciting when you make it work.

The workshops are thought out well. Matt is a good instructor and his videos are thorough with good examples. I have tried many video based courses to assist with becoming a web developer but I find myself losing interest. I like the fact there are due dates with the homework assignments and projects. That keeps me more focused and willing to stay motivated.
It was GREAT! I learned a lot even if I couldn't make much time for it as it let me request extensions whenever I needed them (such as in my exams week). Matt explains everything clearly and I got an email after sending in my homework before 48h passed. It was a wonderful experience, safe to say, I enjoyed it a lot.
The SheCodes Plus Add-on workshop has been a fantastic experience. Building a world clock gave me the chance to learn how to use libraries like Moment.js to add functionalities to my projects more organically (and we all know working with date and time can get tricky). Working on the CSS for this project was also quite fun since I decided to add a custom-made background to it. In addition to that, the challenges and weekly homework assignments really helped provide a hands-on experience.
I learned so much! I love SheCodes, the methodology really motivates me and prevents me from giving up. Having deadlines definitely works for me, I usually just give up, but having to send homework everyweek kept me going. Absolutely happy 💜

I found it hard in the first week before completing my first homework but after that it became fun and easier. Even just with the Basics you learn a lot because it is explained in a very simple and in an easy to grasp way.
I'm surprised at how much I learned in just 8 weeks and how quickly it came to an end. I was initially worried about completing challenges and homework on time in addition to my current commitments but the coursework was well organized and very manageable.
This course was a bit more advanced with a primary focus on Javascript which was certainly challenging and quite difficult at first. However, it made the final project and the final homework a lot easier to complete!
This is a really well-structured course. It has been broken down perfectly, so you are constantly completing lessons and homework, which is vital with the learning process. Have thoroughly enjoyed completing the foundation course and can’t wait to build on it!

I have always loved the SheCodes courses and I will never provide less than a 3 because this might be the only site that provides a lesson and homework and that works best for my learning style but I wasn't super impressed with this course. The final project was fully provided. I looked at multiple students solutions available through slack and besides a few extra comments, it was exactly like the answer provided in the video. While I might have understood the content more after watching each video, there wasn't room for figuring it out on our own. There are also mistakes throughout the course and notes that aren't relevant to that particular content. I feel like this was thrown together because people had been asking for a python course but you can tell from previous courses and certain references to material in this course that Matt is super knowledgeable in Java and also lacks in his python skills.
I really enjoyed the self-directed class format, and the information was explained in a way that made it easy to understand. The homework challenges stretch your skills since you have to find some of the information on your own, but that also helps with knowledge retention. I am so happy I took these classes, so I can understand basic coding enough to help me in my digital marketing work.
Having started the course with absolutely zero knowledge of coding, I feel a massive sense of achievement. The course is designed to enable participants to access lessons for manageable periods of time. The lessons were clear and well structured, as were the challenges and homework, making everything really accessible. There were great resources to access too. I struggled with keeping within the suggested timeframes but that did not deter me. Matt is a great teacher who provides positive reinforcement and recognises when some content is challenging. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and am hoping to register for the next one. I can't recommend this course enough!
This course was perfect for me, it was digestible and at a pace I was comfortable with. The feedback to the coursework/homework is clear and concise and with a quick turnaround. I've learn so much and built foundations across the three languages that I wish I had sooner. Back to SheCodes after a long break and I must say their workshops never disappoint! I was worried that I will struggle going into Responsive after such a long break, but I realised after the first few lessons that my worries were unfounded. The Responsive workshop was divided into short but impactful lessons, which made learning quite a breeze for me. I also appreciated the ease of extending deadlines when I was unable to hand in a homework on time due to a work travel commitment. Excited to start on my React workshop soon! As someone who is currently studying Applied Mathematics at University, within 3 weeks I got to learn and quickly grasp as well as thoroughly understand the basics concepts of HTML, CSS and JavaScript through SheCodes which is something that not even my university lectures could do. Matt indeed is an excellent instructor, he explains everything consisely and each lesson; though brief; is very insightful given that this page is made for busy women. I enjoyed every bit of learning and had a lot of fun doing the homework, the final project was the cherry on top. It also helps being open and broad, seeking information from external resources just as Matt instructed. I felt like a professional coder even though I knew that this is only just the beginning. The entire team collectively is very quick to attend to technical problems and quite inviting and respectful. This has been such a wonderful and exhilarating journey.

While I did learn a tonne in this course, the teaching style didn't totally resonate for me. I found a lot of the videos too brief and the explanations and visuals slightly erratic and redundant so I always had to use alternative sources to get explanations for the why behind things in order to understand what I was doing. I understand the thought process behind having us search for answers for some things beyond what was taught but I found there was quite a bit of 'do this as I do', but without the sufficient reasoning behind it, which personally my brain has a hard time with! But I did benefit a lot from all of the information provided and from the course structure with all the challenges and homework. The deadlines especially kept me on track! If I was just trying to learn coding on my own from online resources I would not have accomplished this much this fast!
I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and most importantly I had fun with it. It is taught in a structured manner that teaches you step by step and then you get to test the skills you have learnt with challenges, homework and a project. Seeing your project come together bit by bit is so fulfilling. Even when it gets a tad challenging, you still have fun. Matt is a great instructor🙌🙌.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been awarded this scholarship and to be part of a platform dedicated to empowering women in tech. The journey has been both challenging and rewarding. We had a series of learning sessions, challenges, and homework that helped me build a strong foundation in web development before I got to the final project. For my final task, I was asked to develop a simple webpage about something I’m passionate about, and I chose to create one focused on beetroot and its health benefits. This project allowed me to apply everything I’ve learned, from structuring the content with HTML, styling it with CSS, and adding interactivity using JavaScript. The support and guidance from the community have been invaluable. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and excited to continue learning and building more complex projects in the future. She codes plus was kind of hard, especially the homework challenges. Countless, sleepless hours of stressing over why the code isn't running. However, with the help of google, Youtube and of course the SheCodes team I was able to overcome those obstacles. Finding solutions for my error codes and debugging were so much fun, and watching my code finally run how it was supposed to, was even more delightful. It was an emotional rollercoaster but overall great experience, 10/10 would recommend

I've had issues with the platform they use for homework.
I've just completed the Python Basics course, which I liked but didn’t love. The instructional videos with Matt were definitely educational, and I learned a lot of theory. However, I felt the course lacked practical exercises, which I believe is the most important aspect of coding. Some videos included homework that took only a few minutes, while others had no practice at all. As an absolute beginner, I managed to get through the course by copying Matt (and leaning on AI), but I don’t feel confident applying these skills in the real world.
I liked that every lesson had homework for you to practice. It was easy to follow and wasn't too heavy for someone with a small concentration span. I also liked that the instructor encouraged us to do outside-class research and suggested which tools to use.

I have enjoyed every challenge and homework that was given to us. Every lesson was so easy to grasp, which made coding all the more enjoyable. I looked forward to learning new coding elements each day! I honestly never thought I'd enjoy coding like this, its like my newly found obsession.
This was a excellent course to really solidify some of the more challenging coding skills I learnt. Although some of the areas were difficult, the lessons and homework were great at helping you along and the Shecodes team were also super responsive to any issues or questions I had.
These three weeks with SheCodes have been absolutely phenomenal. It is easy to understand and follow along. The allocated time is perfect for beginners. Each week's homework on HTML, CSS and JavaScript is exciting but the best part is building a project from scratch and incorporating everything to see the bigger picture. Matt's explanations and examples are great. I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and can't wait to continue. Thank you Delac Foundation and Matt Delac.
The SheCodes content is engaging and easy to follow, the learning format with challenges and homework is great to make sure you are understanding the content. It was very rewarding to see how I went from a complete beginner with no experience to someone who could do a simple page in just three weeks with the final project. And the SheCodes team is incredible.
I was just curious, if this is something for me, but now I know, I will continue. I am not the youngest anymore, however everthing was very easy to understand. I really like that I can choose my own speed, but I also like, that I had to complete the homework in a specific time range. For someone like me working in IT but not having a formal education, this is super helpful and I absolutely enjoyed it.
