I took SheCodes basics to refresh my knowledge on HTML and CSS but also to learn Javascript! The workshop is fun, easy to keep up with, and digestible. It makes me want to code more often and try new things!
Yes, learning to code can be hard at times. You are learning a NEW LANGUAGE :) Thankfully Matt shows you step by step what to do and what NOT to do. Between the Slack student help channel and being able to rewatch videos as much as needed you can and WILL eventually figure it out and it will make sense. Take a break but do NOT give up! :)
I learned a lot of important information in a short time. It was great training. I will definitely continue with the next levels.

I've been curious about learning how to code for a long time and finally decided to take the plunge with SheCodes. I've gone from really not understanding anything about basic coding to being able to implement effective tools when building websites / maintaining my own. I've really appreciated how straight forward the SheCodes instruction is, making learning a brand new skill totally possible and enjoyable, opposed to a chore. I'm looking forward to tackling the SheCodes Plus course!
I've tried other coding workshops and classes, and SheCodes has been the only one where I've felt like I've learned the concepts and have been able to apply them in real time. I'm so proud of the progress I've made in such a short amount of time!
I really like the SheCodes training program. The material is presented in an accessible way, very complex topics are explained in the video tutorials. I will recommend SheCodes to anyone who wants to learn the basics of front end development from the ground up.
I started my coding journey just 2 months ago and I can't believe I made it through all 4 courses. Finishing has a lot do to with the system SheCodes provides, like the fast and helpful responses from the team, the challenges, the homework with deadlines, the projects and a very enthusiastic Matt. Most of the time it felt like bob sliding, high speed through the curves, gravity pulling you from left to right and back again. Reaching the finish line and looking back, I just realize how much I learned during the past two month. It felt so good to be challenged and grow. I feel motivated to build my own apps now and very grateful to SheCodes.
I`ve just finished Basic Coding class, and I want to say: it`s amazing! I was afraid that it could be too difficult for me, I don`t understand anything or even it would be boring. But Matt is very talented teacher, the whole information was given to us in very interesting way, it was like a game for me, not boring classes! And the most inportant thing for me is that I really want to continue, develop and learn more and more, to dive deaply into this coding world. Thank you so much, Matt and SheCodes team!

Great learning experience. Videos were easy to follow as always. I like the variety of challenges. It was nice to be able to build two different projects - one that was familiar from a different workshop, and a completely new one that allowed me to solve different challenges and learn new things.
It was a good introductory course, breaking the content down into the important elements of programming. However, there can be a lot of elements in HTML, CSS and Javascript. It still requires a fair amount of self-study in order to explore the different elements available, capabilities, rules, limitations, and dependencies. Although, this can be fairly reflective of programming itself. There is so much to know that you cannot teach all of it and you'll learn it as you do it.
Was a great starting step to coding. Videos and slack help were very helpful and informative. Looking forward to learning more.

This was such a great course! It was easy to understand but challenging enough that I was able to learn through trial and error with the challenges and homeworks.
It was way harder than the previous course, but I enjoyed the challenge of making every piece of the app work! I'm not so much into the design, but more the functionalities of it and I enjoyed learning about API integration - thank you, SheCodes team!
My experience with coding was limited to messing with MySpace almost 20 years ago but after going to the free coding class I felt confident that I would achieve more through SheCodes. The pace of the lessons is perfect for me and I love how more resources are linked if we wanted to dig even deeper. I'm excited to keep learning with Matt and the SheCodes team!
I had a lot of fun working through the different practice problems and seeing everything come together in the homework assignments at the end of each week. Every lesson builds upon the last in a neat, stepwise progression that makes learning feel like a bit of a challenge but not difficult. I appreciate how the answers aren't provided but that students are given the information they need to "Google it" and come to workable solutions on their own. Bonus? My daughters think I'm cool now :) That said: I encountered an issue when submitting my first week's homework assignment that has left me troubled. I replicated the provided example but, after review, I was notified that my homework was incomplete; when I checked to see what the problem could be, the link I had previously followed to the example opened a differently-formatted page. I went to Slack to ask if I would be required to reformat my homework despite my submission being a faithful representation of the original example and was answered with a request to post my question in another channel of slack because it was a "technical" problem; because the turnaround time for answers was slow (an as-advertised ~48hr) and I didn't want to wait (and I want to learn), I went ahead and reformatted the assignment. Still, I have two problems with this: 1. Assignments that require students to copy (nearly exactly) an example document should not be graded in comparison to example documents that did not exist at the time the assignment was completed. 2. A support team should provide support, not direct questions to different channels and then definitions of what "technical" means, even if it does mean something different (and so vague as to be meaningless) to them. I asked a question of the support team that pertained to a philosophical question, not a technical question: Considering that I submitted an assignment based upon an incompletely formatted example (that was available to me), would I be required (by the SheCodes team) to continue formatting my assignment to match an example that did not exist (to my eyes) until after I had submitted my assignment? When I indicated that my question was not technical in nature (I had no difficulties creating a document, coding a document to match the example available to me, or submitting a document), I was told that, essentially, all questions are technical questions and if I want an answer I should submit my questions to the proper channel. This is not a free course and it is alarming to me to be paying for support and receiving resistance, instead. Just an FYI. I am learning a lot, but I am someone who enjoys the Googling and searching and fiddling. If I were taking this course with the idea of getting (and receiving) much support from the support team, I'm not sure how that would be going.

SheCodes plus has been a great experience for me. From being a novice in coding to frontend development. I learnt a lot and although sometimes it felt overwhelming and confusing, the shecodes team was readily available to provide answers and explanations. Plus done and dusted, on to the next.
I felt this program provided a solid foundation for learning HTML, CSS, and JS and taking it further than the SheCodes Basics course. I'm pleased with what I was able to build and test with the final weather app project. Looking forward to continuing my coding journey with SheCodes!

A challenging course, but absolutely exciting. Glad to have taken my first steps in React with the support of SheCodes. A lot of practice is the key factor of this course, it gives you the opportunity not only to learn the difficult things, but to believe in yourself.
This course was a great introduction to coding, I enjoyed it more than I ever imagined I would and am now hoping to pursue a career in development! The instructor was great and made learning even the most difficult parts fun. Couldn't recommend this course enough!

I had so much fun learning the basics of coding with the SheCodes basics workshop. I have no previous experience in coding at all. This course made it so easy to follow and understand. I love that the lesson videos are broken into shorter digestible snippets and have challenges to check your understanding. I took this course to test the waters and see if it is the direction I would like to go career-wise. So far I am loving it! I can say that I will definitely be taking the next workshop to further expand my knowdelge of coding.
Definitely challenging being a beginner again but I am glad I made the investment in myself to learn these new skills that will be valuable in my future career opportunities.
In January of this year I graduated Springboard with a certification in UI/UX Design and landed my first job as a User Experience Designer. I was exposed to the basics of HTML and CSS at Springboard but didn't have a deep understanding of them. Working with developers on several projects revealed this skill gap for me so I began looking for a course that would make learning code fun and found SheCodes! I have learned so much in these 3 weeks and I am so excited to use the skills I have gained to make me a better designer and teammate. Thank you!
I am so grateful that I signed up to this amazing course. The instructor really knows how to teach from basics so that a novice coder can understand, as opposed to other learning platforms which may seem a bit intimidating. I was really excited to start this workshop, I didn't wait till the next Monday, I enrolled on Friday and got through pretty quick. It was really important for me to stay motivated and get things done (as I'm working full-time) - the weekly deadlines definetely helped me with it. I had some experience with HTML, but definetely not enough. I feel like I learned enough to know that I want to continue learning more - coding can be fun :)
Thanks to SheCodes Plus I learned a lot about programming. It's amazing to be able to create apps that can already be published and used by people all over the world. It may seem that programming and this course may be too difficult. However, step-by-step instructions, clear explanations and separate lessons for each topic help you to understand and practise everything, so you're not going to fail. The result is gorgeous!
It was one the best courses of HTML, CSS that I've ever seen!! I loved the idea of submitting challenges after any new lesson, that made me practice and learn correctly. I would highly recommend this course ๐

Definitely found the Plus course trickier but have managed to finish the project and have learned a lot along the way. The forum is very useful and the SheCodes Team are very helpful.

After having completed all four workshops, I feel grateful to SheCodes because, from the day I started, coding has done nothing but enrich my life.
I very much enjoyed learning with Matt on this course through the tutorials...his explanations are clear and easy to follow. The course is also nicely set up to learn all the basics needed to put theory into practice via the final project and help is always at hand if needed.

Building your own website from scratch was such a rewarding experience! I love that this workshop gives such a strong backbone for how to create a clean, SEO friendly, responsive, functional website, yet still gives student the flexibility to let their imaginations run wild and design something totally unique. I also love that the SheCodes team always remind us that there isn't just 'one right answer' for a solution - this gives the students flexibility and a natural learning ability.
The videos and instructions were very easy-going, these were MADE for beginners and I am so glad there is an entire organization out there dedicated to this and teaching women all around the world. I am so happy I took this workshop! :) I enjoyed it overall and learned so much in the process.

This workshop was a lot more confusing to me than the other three ones but it definitely allowed me to learn and grow more from this workshop. I found React difficult but it's nice watching and then learning the different lessons Matt provided us. So sad I'm officially done with SheCodes

I enjoyed the SheCodes Basics workshop. It allowed me to refresh my rusty knowledge of HTML & CSS, and I got to learn some basic javascript. It was paced well, with the curriculum broken up into small, digestible pieces. I am a full-time employee and very busy mom, so it was important for me to be able to complete a few lessons each night and still have the flexibility to extend assignment deadlines, if needed. SheCodes Responsive workshop is definitely one of my challenging, yet favorite one. I took a lot of time to finish this project, but at the same time, it was very interesting! Matthieu Delac's teaching skills, the tons of information to learn and practice he provides, to the guidance of the supporting team (shout out to Joรฃo, Vlada, and Paul) have been incredible! It's a pleasure to see the final result and to know what I accomplished in the 5 weeks(creating my portfolio website with multiple pages that are responsive !) I've already enrolled in the React Course and am excited about the workshop! The SheCodes journey has elevated my desire to learn more, and practice my skills in real-life projects. Definitely would recommend this course!

Have always been interested in web development and coding in general. This has absolutely made me enjoy learning the beginning basics of it. Matt does a great job of walking you through and explaining the "whys" and "whats" but gives you the wiggle room to think for yourself too. Excited to continue learning here.
