I don't want to be a career waitress and eventually want to work from home, so I thought learning to code sounded like a good idea! After just the basics course, I feel I have an understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript. It was presented in an easy-to-understand way, with very flexible deadlines. I was nervous about self-paced education, but this was really helpful to me! I like that Matt gives examples in the videos but instructs to create our own design, so we can learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from our own experimentation.

Taking this bootcamp has been the best leap I’ve taken for my career. I was self-teaching coding before this but wanted something to really push me and keep me accountable, and this program definitely did that. I can't say enough good things about my journey with SheCodes learning React. Matt's teaching style made everything click for me; his explanations were clear and easy to follow. It was quite challenging, had to stop and start multiple times because I would have to debug often(My fault because I forget to put semi-colons on my JavaScript). The support from the SheCodes Slack team helped a lot and referring to Matt's lessons to refresh my memory. Overall, it was an amazing experience, it was thorough, challenging and insightful. Initially, I found myself a bit scared because I had no idea about coding and this has nothing to do with my field, but at the same time it was also a new challenge for me. However, under Matt's guidance, my nerves were quickly replaced with enthusiasm. although this ad-on was only for two weeks, there was a lot of information given. I would have liked to link it further (i.e. how we did previously with the list to chose any given city, not just the ones we code), but I understand given the timeframe that is not possible. I found my SheCodes introduction to the basics journey very exceptional because you get to ask questions when you need help and Matt is very calm and makes sure that when he explains things you fully understand what is said through the videos. At first, I was very intimidated learning how to code. at the moment, I am 39 years old with a 11 month old baby, and pregnant! It has been slightly difficult to find the time to keep up with the workshops. But thankfully with SheCodes, I am able to extend my deadlines so I can keep up with the class. I honestly considered just giving up, due to only having uninterrupted time in the late hours. I'm glad I reconsidered and completed my first two workshops. I was astonished by how much information I memorized, even after taking an unexpected break due to health issues. Matt Delac is a great teacher and pays attention to detail, which helps me learn and memorize with clarity. I like that I am able to go back and relearn a specific lesson instead of being left struggling to figure it out.
I've tried to learn Javascript many times over the years and I never had that easy of a time. Matt has made it where I can learn Javascript and where it makes sense!

Joining was honestly the most amazing thing that could have happened for me, I learned new skills and my knowledge on coding has expanded Matt's teaching style was very short, to the point and very understandable , I barely had to rewind! The videos are in bite sizes for you to absorb it more and I honestly prefer it this way! If you prefer a mostly self-paced but also guided learning experience I Reccomend SheCodes!
I had a lot of fun building this Dictionary App in the React Add-On Workshop. I like how Matt goes through the basics of the app building process, while giving clues to add further functionality if the student so desires. Honestly, the She Codes Plus workshop does get tricky, but if you give yourself enough time to practice over and over, You eventually master it, Matt's clips are so digestible and allow you to watch them on a lower speed. It's also important that when you seek a solution, google it first before you ask on Slack. I have learned so much.
To be here now and I can create a project of my own is so fulfilling, I have loved every step o the way and I am excited or the next lessons. Thank you SheCodes and Matt for this opportunity.

This was an excellent starter course for people with no prior coding experience. The training videos are easy enough to follow along and comprehensive. I personally really enjoyed the repetitious coding challenges put in to place to make sure I understood what I had learned and to help retain information. Matt did an excellent job instructing in this workshop, keeping me engaged with lessons being short and to the point.

SheCodes was a game-changer for me! I've done HTML, CSS, and javascript in high School and during my first year of uni but Matt was by the best instructor and made everything so simple to understand. I definitely enjoyed this course. The information is well put together in a way that is really easy to understand and being able to schedule when you want to start your lessons and delay them really made things so efficient for me as a student so I can work on my own pace and not feel overwhelmed.

I have always wanted to learn how to code. Fortunately for me, I Came across SheCodes on Tiktok. The sign-up process was relatively easy and they took about a week to respond. I enjoyed the Basics workshop so much. Matt made everything so easy to understand and apply. Also you can work at your own pace , so if you are a busy person like me, you don't have to worry .I am looking forward to the other workshops.

I would recommend this course to anyone because even though it's not "necessary", it gives you a chance to work on important things to help you land a job, like your website or resume. Matt also gives some good advice on how to contact employers, this course taught me some things I wished they taught me in college. Whether, if I get a job in tech or not I'm still grateful to SheCodes because it gave me a new skill. But still here's hoping on landing a new job.🤞
