I am very glad that I completed the SheCodes workshop. I have gone from knowing absolutely nothing about coding to wanting to know more!

As someone who has touched on the world of basic coding prior to joining, I thought it was an excellent refresher and it further improved my understanding of the fundamentals of code. I was honestly quite terrible at Javascript before this and I have really started to get the hang of it now! I'm sure by continuing the course with @MattDelac, I will be a better coder every step of the way. It truly was a well prepared introductory course and I would recommend anyone to give it a try βΊοΈ
SheCodes Basics, in just 3 shorts weeks has given me a taste and opened my mind to the possibilities of what I could create as a Front End Developer, now I'm hungry and want to know more and more!!! The lessons are great; Matt talks you through what you need to know but allows for you to still find a few little things out for yourself; which you do - because he gives you the skills to know what you need to look for. His team at SheCodes are fabulous also; if you have a query they are there for you and get back to you asap. It is definitely something I would recommend you sign up for - I LOVE IT. Can't wait for my my SheCodes Plus course to start on Monday!! Exxxxciting!!
Great foundations course!
I found this course interesting, challenging and rewarding. I learnt a lot from each lesson of the course. Homeworkβs were corrected quickly. Enjoyed working on project and implemented all the learnt techniques.

I loved how Matt made clear from the beginning that anyone can get into coding, no matter the background. The three weeks course it's a very pleasurable intro to the world of coding. You learn a lot of things in a very short time without feeling overwhelmed or scared, which is very important for absolute beginners.
I went from no idea of what coding front end/full stack design meant at all to being able to make my own code and find the resources to help myself when stuck.
The course was great. I like the format of having short lessons and then having time to practice.

I dabbled in code when I was a teenager (mainly so that I could design my own outfits for my Sims!) but never pursued it. I've been using website templates for a long time but have been getting increasingly frustrated with the limitations so I signed up to SheCodes as it looked like a friendly place to learn coding as a complete beginner. It doesn't disappoint! I'm considering signing up for the extended course :-)
This was an excellent course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't mind spending all my free time studying. Matt's instruction is very good. Personally, I put a lot more than 5 hours worth a week of study in to achieve the deadlines but I guess everyone learns at different speeds. I'm grateful to have this material to refer back to for a lifetime and have no hesitation in recommending this course.
I've tried other courses in the past, but they just taught the language and not how to put it into use. The SheCodes gave practical challenges and lets you problem solve so you really understand the fuction of the code
The basics workshop was a really good introduction to coding. The classes are well explained and every lesson's challenge make you understand better. I started my interest for coding when I worked with programmers in a big project and I really wanted to learn these languages myself , I'm exciting to expand my knowledge in the next coming workshops.

SheCodes was a good beginner step into coding, I have done previous online free courses but I found this course to be well taught and give you an overall basic beginning into using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
SheCodes have clear and interesting videos and provides a lot of support. It allows you to express your creativity and learn along the way.
I really enjoyed the workshop and the format in which it's taught. The content and length of the videos made working through the course really manageable to fit in to the rest of your day. This format made studying with a baby at home far less scary than it sounds! I found myself always happy to watch the next video and complete the next challenge, even when tired after a long day. Videos were engaging and challenges were fun. Cannot wait to continue on with SheCodes.
Every SheCodes workshop is short but detailed enough to make the content easy to understand and remember. After every workshop there is a little challenge to apply the information you just learned - for me it was perfect because I learn through repetition. I had so much fun in these first three weeks and I loved how much I have already learned. It has already opened so many doors for me - albeit mentally - and I can't wait to dive further into the coding world.
SheCodes was EXACTLY what I've been looking for! Matt guides you through every step of the way and there are lots of exercises for you to put new skills into practice. The Slack community is great to interact with other women across the world in the same boat as you, as well as training you to pick up errors in code written by other people. I've had such a confidence boost since starting the Basics workshop, and I can't wait to see what I'll be learning in the next one! Thanks Matt and the SheCodes team π

As an absolute beginner I was very intimidated by the idea of learning how to code. This workshop was the perfect introductory course - it contained so much information yet wasn't overwhelming. It has given me the confidence to continue pursuing my dream of being a front-end developer in the near future!
Easily the best workshop I've done in a long time! I became addicted to finishing the short lessons and found it so satisfying to complete a few challenges in one sitting. I'm so thankful for the safe and supportive environment created for myself and other women to learn something that can be quite daunting. It felt like a real community! Looking forward to starting the next course and hopefully a future career in coding.

Video content was easy to follow, videos were done at a good pace - not to fast, not too slow. Good amount of content each week to be able to juggle work and family life and still complete on time!
SheCodes has been an awesome introduction into coding - i've loved the step by step approach to learning and the fact that you can go at your own pace. The community is incredibly supportive, helping each other work through problems with our code really quickly. A perfect way to dip your toe in the water - whether it's to pursue a future career as an engineer, or just for fun!

It was a great experience working through all of the SheCodes Workshop. The newest Responsive workshop was very interesting and taught me many new skills that have been vital to my development as a Front-End Engineer. The flexibility of the course has made the journey enjoyable as commitments may change but you always feel supported in your learning.
This course is a fantastic intro to HTML, CSS and Javascript and Matt is a brilliant teacher! The lessons were enjoyable and challenging enough to keep things interesting without being stressful. I started the course without any knowledge of HTML and I'm amazed that I now feel comfortable understanding and creating basic HTML websites after just 3 weeks π

Great for beginners - good structure and easy to follow
It was a really good introductory overview - it taught me the basic language and the structure of how it works. I particularly enjoyed the final project where I was free to play around and create something I liked!
I'm basically with accounting background and eventually moved into testing line. So, I was very keen to join this workshop but at the same time was concerned to know if I can follow the coding language or not! Surprisingly, this workshop gave me a new confidence! I was so motivated to work on each challenges everyday on my own time. The support given during the workshop is great! I started to feel connected with apex app development work now. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is interested know/learn on how the coding works! If I can do it having little kid and full-time job anyone can do it.Cheers π
Matt is very good at explaining complex things into simple steps. It helps me quickly understand the connections between HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I built the website with Wix and WordPress before, but after this workshop, I am excited to build one with Javascript.
I have always wanted to learn how to code, and I am so glad I tried through SheCodes. It has been so easy to pick up and jump right in. Looking forward to continuing to learn and keep coding!
This is the perfect course for beginner coders. Learning the basics takes time and patience and I felt really supported by Matt's tutorials, the Slack group and trusty ol' Google. I could fit it around my working schedule and it gave me a small sense of achievement each time I passed a lesson. It has gotten me excited to see what else I can learn in coding and what the possibilities are.

As a beginner I didn't expect to get this far in 3 weeks, given I had no previous knowledge in design, programming or anything to do with IT. The structure of the course is perfect; clear and you can easily manage your time since the lessons are short and concise. I can't wait to start the next course at SheCodes! SheCodes Plus has been an exciting and easy to follow pathway for creating my first folio project. Step-by-step tutorials help heaps to understand the mechanism of the backside of a website I have never known. It's exciting and so much fun to learn. SheCodes Plus was a great extension to what I learnt in the Workshop course. I enjoyed the challenges and problem solving I did while working on my final project, and I'm very pleased with the result.
SheCodes provided a great structured way to learn coding. Over the past 3weeks I found that I was able to understand lots of different concepts which helped me to complete the tasks assigned. Slack provides great support with opportunities to learn from others, as well as self directed searches.
Would highly recommend SheCodes as a way to get started with coding. It takes you through it step by step and is practical and highly engaging!

The three week SheCodes course gave me a good start to coding. Everything was thoroughly explained, broken up in to small segments that were easy to understand.
I have found that SheCodes has been a great introduction into coding - one where you can go at your own pace, with online assistance available if needed. Would highly recommend to anyone who values a straightforward and insightful teaching style with room for individual creative expression!

I thoroughly enjoyed the SheCodes Workshops and I am glad I've signed up to them! I am a beginner when it comes to coding but I found the delivery was great and easy to understand. They were sectioned into bitesize tutorials with the right amount of learning, practice and challenges so that you do not feel completely overwhelmed or demotivated.
