I appreciated how the workshop was structured to teach the basics of responsive design plus advanced tips, while also allowing for creative freedom and individualized project development. By the end of the workshop, I had gained a solid understanding of responsive HTML and CSS development and had created a functional and visually appealing website for my hometown: Bogota.

Loved working on this weather app. Everytime I learn something new I first think "how will I remember all this?!" but then a few days later it comes natural and I think the same thing about another new thing. It's a learning process haha.
The *basic* course was a great opportunity to refresh my knowledge from 20 years ago π. I also really like the community where you can ask questions and help others. π It is a lot of fun! If you come from a graphics background, I think you have an advantage: even though this is about coding, design (always) counts.βοΈπ€©

Short course but fun to do.
With SheCodes Basic, I was able to develop my first web development skills. The course helped me with my initial difficulties. Matt is friendly, the team is helpful, and the classes are well-structured.
SheCodes helped me to learnt a lot in a matter of weeks, I'm happy and im very grateful that i took this online class. Matt is a great teacher and he explains everything in a simple way and understandable and also if you get stuck or have some questions, the SheCodes team is also really quick to answer my questions and also with other students! I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn coding.
There are issues with SheCodes BASICS: If you watch the provided videos, study the attached materials/links and possibly make some notes to ensure you've truly understood the concepts before tackling the challenges, you need half an hour per lesson. There are twenty lessons in the first week alone; therefore the estimated study time is WAY off. Also, towards the end of Week 1, the lessons become notably lazy and a lot of relevant information is simply dumped below the videos. The challenge in Week 2, lesson 3 is extremely poorly explained (it gets better again after that). On the bright side: The course does introduce you to Slack and VS Code (real developer tools). Conclusion: If you're completely unfamiliar with HTML & CSS, want to get your feet wet but don't know where to start, you might as well spend 100 bucks on SheCodes BASICS. However, as of February 27, 2023, the SheCodes Terms of Use state: "It is not possible to get a refund for a course even if you contact us before the course has started." How very empowering. Mind you, we're talking about a more or less fully automated setup. Based on such a refund policy alone, I cannot recommend that you spend your money on the other (significantly more expensive) workshops. Go check out Dr. Angela Yu or Colt Steele instead.
I recently completed SheCodes basic Coding Workshop and I am so glad I did! The instructor was Knowledgeable and patient, and the course material was comprehensive and easy to understand. I learned a lot of valuable skills that I can use in my career. Thanks for the great experience!

Since I am punctilious and have some design skills, I was always told that I could enter the coding field. But I was always afraid to start until I accidentally met Shecode and started learning. Now I'm not saying that learning coding is easy, but if we learn with the right resources, it can become the most delightful thing that someone can do as a profession. Thanks to Shecode, I hope to continue this path and become a successful developer.

Things are getting more complicated but learning with SheCodes really helps me to wrap my head around all those JavaScript functions, logic etc.! I love figuring out how to fix bugs and get everything to work how I want it to.

I recently finished the workshop where I learned how to develop a Dictionary app using React and 2 different APIs. While I found React to be challenging at first, with practice and persistence, I was able to create a functional app. We learned how to integrate 2 APIs (one for word definitions and another for photographs) into the app and how to display the results in a user-friendly way. One thing I appreciated about the workshop was that the instructor provided us with all the code we needed to follow along, but also encouraged us to customize the app and make it our own. Overall, the workshop was informative, and challenging, providing valuable hands-on experience.
I am so happy that I could participate in this course. With the learnings of this course, I am able to get a better view of what is happening on websites and use these learnings to develop my work. I realized how much I am interested in programming and creating and I am sure that I will continue this profession and knowledge.

This class was really fun! It was also really helpful to do the project step by step. It was easier to understand what to do. It was a good class!
The course is okay and the lessons are divided into good small and understandable portions. However, I find the price for the continuing courses too high for me to continue. There are equivalent courses at Udemy for much less money. I also find the design of the pages not particularly professional or modern, which is why I can unfortunately only give 3 stars. However, the time pressure helps a lot to finish the course within the given time.
The Plus level is already quite demanding and allows us to make a "smarter" app. The explanations were good and the assistance through Slack really helped troubleshoot some doubts regarding the SheCodes Weather API.
I extended my knowledge of HTML/CSS and Bootstrap. Following that I learned how to call APIs and update my webpage automatically using JavaScript. It was convenient to be able to track my changes using GitHub and deploy my project using Netlify.

It was great fun building this world clock and I would recommend this workshop to all that would like to start coding with html and javascript.
You are very cool. The only thing I didn't like a little was that the first week's homework required using the element for three squares when hovering. We were not taught how to do this, and I tried to do it in known ways for a very long time. I tried to combine the elements in a clever way. And here is just a function that we did not learn.

I came to SheCodes to learn the basics of coding, I am curious to understand more about software development and so far I've found it very interesting the way SheCodes is built by creating a community, setting homework with set deadlines and simplified lessons.
This progam helped me learn a lot of basics of coding. Each video was really helpful and I think that this project was really exciting. Every detail was explained in the videos which is very helpful for a beginner like me!

It's been a long time since I first started SheCodes. I did Basic, Plus, Responsive and had plans to start React. But unfortunately life doesn't go always as planned and motherhood and settling down in a new country ended up drifting me away from the course. But I always felt eager and anxious to get back to it. After one year away from all I decided to get back on track and get myself the Basic Addon course to slowly getting myself familiar again with all the content. And it really worked great! Was a great way to get myself going again and It felt natural and easy to follow. I am very happy to be back, and also am very happy to realize how much I really love coding. Can't wait to have more :)
It was a great three weeks course that taught HTML, CSS and Javascript and guided me to build my website from scratch. It changed my idea of coding and showed me how it could be creative and engaging!
