Taking part in SheCodes has been a great experience for me. When I first saw SheCodes I was immediately curious. The fact that it is focused in women was of particular importance to me. I tried the Basics workshop and managed to do it all in 1 week, even working full-time during the week. In this short period, I feel I learned the basics of building a webpage and was super invested in the final project. Now I am super looking forward to the next phase.
I am very happy for the opportunity to study with Matt. Matt is a great teacher! I gained a lot of knowledge that I didn't know before. It was not hard to code after listening his lessons.

I started this basics course because I wanted to do a course in UI design and I thought it would be smart to know the basics of coding before learning how to design. Little did I know I would enjoy coding this much and have now decided to do the full course and put UI on hold for now.

I've already learned a bit of code on free platforms, but Matt gave me additional tips and tricks during the basic workshop that are very useful and make coding much easier. I didn't expect to actually enjoy myself while learning to code, but I did! The SheCodes Basics workshop is laid out in a very digestible, easy-to-follow way. The bite-sized video lessons followed by challenges really helped me stay interested and absorb the material. Matt is a great teacher to guide you into the world of coding. The course needs more in depth explanations of why the instructor is making certain choices instead of the phrase "trust me" which is used many times. For the price, I feel the course should offer a lot more information on how React actually works, currently it seems that it is a very "copy what I do" style of teaching which in the long run is not helpful for aspiring devs.
It's a great intro to coding - well-structured, engaging and so much fun!

I really liked the SheCodes workshop. Matt kept the lessons easy to understand. He was a great instructor. I also liked that you had always a homework to submit because that keeps you practicing. I once needed help with something and I asked for help on Slack within an hour or so I got an response it was really helpful. The Slack community is great. I think SheCodes is really great for absolute beginners and I would highly recommend it. Before SheCodes I knew completly nothing about coding and now I understand how it works and I want to learn more.
Great class with a wide variety of topics taught in an engaging manner. It was a lot of fun gaining insights into the basics of coding. I'm excited to expand my knowledge in the future!

I highly suggest shecodes to ones who are in the first step of learning, the primary benefit is that the schedule is flexible and also it allows student to work in the environment with less needing materials or get a subscription from other software.
