I have attended the shecodes Basic Workshop for three weeks. I had been trying to learn coding on my own for the last two years while working full-time, but I was having trouble keeping up. With shecodes it was easy for me to motivate myself. You can exchange ideas and discuss difficulties with other participants in the chat and there are also deadlines to meet. Matt has structured the lessons in a very logic way and easy to digest. The workshop is very active with lots of tiny tasks which I particularly enjoyed and which helped me in my learning progress. I am considering signing up for the advanced workshop very soon!
The video tutorials were so well done, step-by-step explanations for everything! Even as a total coding newbie I never felt like I was in over my head. I can highly recommend it!

I am really happy that I decided to take this workshop. It's really easy to understand Matt when he is coding and thanks to flexible video lessons you can manage your time how you want.

I liked it a lot although it was really tough to do while working full-time. Sometimes the timing was a bit difficult, I had to wait for a response on Slack since it's no live teaching and thus my time schedule got disrupted a bit. But overall it was a wonderful experience to test out if coding might be something I want to do more frequently. Thank you, SheCodes!

I enjoyed the course a lot. It is really cool to see how many new things you can learn within 3 weeks. Regarding the structure of the course, Matt's didactics of the units and the support on slack i would definitely recommend it. It was really fun to create an own project at the end.
Love this course. It can be really frustrating to deal with JS sometimes π, but it's always worth the effort and I really learned a lot by doing the little challenges. Looking forward to the next Workshop!
The 3 week course gave a better understanding of how html + css are structured and how to create an html page from scratch! I really enjoyed the 2nd week with javascript and all the possibilities that it opens.

This was a fun journey. Very easy to understand and to follow due to Matt being a great teacher and teaching step by step. The team on slack were also a great assistance if I got stuck. Had a great time creating and being challenged. I learned a lot in such a short time and I highly recommend!
SheCodes provides a great opportunity to develop a feeling for the world of coding - compresensive descriptions, personal feedback and support, lessons on demand. It is really fun to test one's own recently learned skills in small challenges and to be able to detect mistakes. SheCodes provides an insight into the WorldWideWeb from the other side of the computer.
I had a lot of fun learning about the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I hope that more people get the chance to experience how much fun it is to code. I will definetly come back for more. Until then: Happy Coding!π
What an amazing experience! SheCodes was simple, fun and brilliantly set up. Matt and the SheCodes team really know how to teach their students the basic principles of coding in a concise and interesting way. You can do the course in your own pace and even if you're stuck: Don't panic, the SheCodes community is always very helpful! I was hesitant to take the course because it was during my vacation and I was worried that the assignments would feel too much like "work". This was definitely not the case and working on the challenges quickly became addictive and fun. This course is really great for beginners and I hope I can take more in the future.

The experience with SheCodes was great! At first, I was a bit irritated to have a male instructor when the service is called "SheCodes" - fortunately, there are female tutors in the back who are happy to help on Slack. ;) What I appreciate the most is the possibility to have a final project that is published with SheCodes and so have the ability to actually show my skills to people. I did the basic course, which I would recommend to anyone with no knowledge.

It was a truly fun experience to get some basic understanding of how coding actually works! Matt's way of explaining the rules and "grammar" is simple, and thus easy to follow for all the newbies out there. I really enjoyed the small challenges inbetween as well as the weekly homeworks. The SheCodes Basics workshop was perfect to start coding. I was specifically looking for a platform that sets deadlines in order for me to stay motivated. The lessons are easy to understand and not too hard nor too easy. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get a glimpse into coding.

Going from the Basics Workshop landing page including a single button to a whole weather app including API integration, search function and weather forecast feature has been such an amazing journey. SheCodes Basic is well structured, easy to follow and the SheCodes basic has covered basic elements you'll need to start a website. I have learned a lot from the lessons as well as from the challenges that are set out by Matt. I am hooked and I can't wait to complete the whole SheCodes Pro course already!

I really liked learning the basics of coding as I had no prior knowledge at all. The classes are taught in great detail and everything is explained very well to make sure you can follow along. However for me that meant that sometimes things got a bit repetitive.
I've always wanted to learn some basics of css, html and javascript and didn't know where to start. This workshop was great to get started and was a lot of fun! I really loved that I could go at my own pace.
I will make it short: best online course I've taken! Very engaging, fun, easy to follow :) Highly recommended to anyone coming from any background and who wants to learn to code. I can't wait to finish all the courses! :)
I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed doing something for myself during parental leave. Thanks to the possibility of flexible scheduling, it was doable, but also sometimes challenging in terms of time. But I also liked to get stuck in at night and keep practising and coding :)
My decision about coding was very spontanious. I just woke up and decided I want to do something creative π. I guess I'm gonna continue with a course, becouse I like it a lot. Great course! Everything is explained in a very simple way. At the end of each lesson, the feeling is amazing thanks to Matt and the way he explain things. The structure of the course is really well done, with some practical exercises at the end of each lesson. That engrave the concept in your brain forever. A plus, it is definitely the support and the community in Slack!

SheCodes Basics is the perfect coding workshop for beginners. I started from scratch and found the structure and content super motivating! I love how much I am able to do for the final project just after a few hours of learning. The course is in such small units that you have a sense of achievment several times an hour. This helps a lot to stay onboard!

I joined the SheCodes Basics workshop while on maternity leave as I wanted to learn something new besides thinking just about the baby's arrival :) The workshop was a lot of fun. Everything was well-explained and I feel like I have a better grasp of what coding is about.
Wow! I would never have expected to come so far! I am still worried that I will come to the point where I don't understand things anymore. But up to now I mastered every challenge somehow. Sometimes I needed some time to really understand the code. But I always came to the point where it made "click" π Thanks to Matt and the whole team β€βπ

I highly recommend this workshop for absolute beginners! is really fun to learn how to code. I also find SheCodes Radio pretty good and helpful to concentrate while coding. The way the videos are self paced make the course pretty flexible, but the deadlines for the homeworks give you the needed presure. Every lesson has a challenge to be completed on your own. In that way you get to put your knowledge on practice!
