A great course to gain confidence on how to code without the use of Bootstrap etc. As always, Matt encourages you to build a project that you are passionate about to keep you going when you face challenges and start to get stuck on a problem.
The classes are presented in bite-size pieces where you don't feel overwhelmed with the load. Instead of being intimidated by the work, I began to look forward to it - knowing I will understand what's happening.

I recently completed the SheCodes basic coding course and I am already eager to learn more! After this course, I've learnt the essential skills to build highly responsive websites and applications that look great on all sizes of screens and devices, including desktops, tablets and mobile phones. I had a really great time creating The Godfather website for the responsive workshop. I showcased a lot of past HTML and CSS skills that I have learned from the beginning of the course. This project was a challenge because we weren't allowed to use any frameworks like Bootstrap. everything had to be created with pure HTML and CSS.
I really enjoyed this course as a simple introduction to coding and I loved getting stuck into working on the homework, and my final project! I found I was able to lean in to my creative side, while learning a new technical skill.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in figuring out whether or not they want to pursue coding. The video tutorials were easy to follow, and I learned a lot in a short amount of time while also having fun.

The SheCodes curriculum structure is great for a beginner like me, learning each new skill and element in a practical way that made sense and could be applied to real-world situations. A great balance between having step-by-step instruction and independent problem-solving. The website has some amazing free resources too which are fun to explore, already have some ideas for future mini projects. Looking forward to starting SheCodes Plus and learning more!
I cannot describe how happy I am feeling at this moment. From zero knowledge, Matt took me by the hand and up to now (building my own page) my transition has been amazingly smooth. In less than 1 month, I went from 0 to finishing my first ever functional application - a website that allows users to search the current weather and forecast for any location including over 200,000 cities in the world using real data with several APIs.
Amazing course with amazing content and an amazing teacher. I enjoyed every minute of it. Like Matt, I particularly enjoyed working with the SheCodes.io colour palettes - learning about JavaScript alerts was the second-best thing about the workshop. Bravo team!

Easy instructions and interesting
I have finally completed the Basics SheCodes Workshop and it's safe to say that I love it! My favourite part was learning about CSS because I love making the websites pretty and unique. JavaScript was really difficult for me but Matt explained everything nice and clearly. I can't wait to start my next workshop and develop my skillsπ

Having just finished my Fine Art degree I was looking for a way to make myself more employable and learn a new skill. Having worked with Blender and other design softwares, I wanted to push my knowledge beyond aesthetics and start creating on the web. This course is exactly what I needed to start this journey. I plan on progressing to become a front-end developer.
