SheCodes makes learning really fun with a great balance of theory, practicals and code-a-long videos. I've found that the structure of the lessons has helped me to pick up concepts quickly and you do feel you have achieved something each week with the homework tasks. I've also picked up lots of tools and tips that aren't necessarily taught in other self-learning platforms I've tried.
My husband is a web developer and has always encouraged me to learn how to code. I wasn't sure if I would like it so was looking for an introductory course that I could fit around working and being a mom of two young kids. I liked how I could do the lessons from home at times that suited me. The home work deadlines kept me accountable and encouraged me to stick to my learning schedule. Matt is a great instructor and my favourite part of the course was the challenges.
This course is the brilliant for absolute beginners, the pace of the course is dependent on you so it's suitable for anyone.
Doing this course has really helped me feel like I'm finally getting somewhere with coding. I liked how the course was designed and all of the necessary support was available.

I've taken a few online courses over the years, but it is safe to say that SheCodes tops them all by far. Matt is highly skilled at breaking down complex information into manageable and understandable chunks in a logical order that allows you to gradually build a solid foundation of knowledge, which is further reinforced by the demonstrations and examples provided in the lessons, and your own practice via the lesson challenges, homework and projects. As a visual and practical learner, these methods have helped me so so much, and I've learned and retained so much more than I was ever expecting. Matt has also managed what I previously believed was impossible - to make programming less scary (and fun)! Thanks again for this wonderful experience.

I had zero experience before I started but I have always been very curious to try. The course lived up to my expectations and more: I didn't expect to learn so many things in three weeks. I really liked the practical approach (even though sometimes I had a feeling I was learning only the tip of the iceberg but that's my perfectionism that wants to know all the details and terms etc... right away. :) I love how my love for design, creativity and problem-solving all came together in this course! Found this course quite easy, having a little understanding beforehand helped but I'm a complete novice when it comes to Javascript. This course was a real eye opener and I've learned so much already! Can't wait to jump into the next workshop and expand my knowledge and skills.
I currently work as an admin officer in the UK, but was looking for a career change. This workshop has been the first step in my journey towards becoming a web developer and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I would highly recommend SheCodes. Not only is Matt a great teacher, but the fact that money from the workshops goes to fund the Delac Foundation to support women around the world is a bonus. Until now I have struggled with coding, it never seemed to 'click' with me. After being laid off from work the week before Christmas I decided to do something to boost my hireability. After completing this workshop I actually feel that I can code. It has been a major confidence boost and I look forward to continuing with more advanced SheCodes workshops.
This is was probably one of the easiest courses to follow. I am surprised with how much information i was able to grasp. The challenges are a great addition to the course as it allows you to practice your skills. This is my first time experience of coding and i can't wait to complete all the workshops.
I decided to join SheCodes Plus after completing SheCodes Basics and I feel like I have learnt so much over the last 8 weeks. For someone with 0 coding background, SheCodes Basics taught me how to build a website from scratch using HTML, CSS and Javascript! The videos are easy to follow as well, Matt explained very well a lot of fundamental theories and why certain steps need to be followed. I can understand the instructions 99% of the time. I look forward to continuing further with coding, especially web development.

SheCodes has helped me so much, i was really struggling with anxiety and depression when i first started this course. But i have found that doing this course has really helped me focus on something other than how i was feeling and being a part of a lovely team of women from all over the world who are learning at the same time as me has been brilliant! And knowing that anytime i needed any help, there was always someone there, no matter how easy or difficult the question was i was never made to feel stupid for not knowing the answer! i would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone! For someone who didn't know anything about coding I absolutely loved it. I liked that I can complete my lessons whenever during the week but also having a deadline. Also the challenges were super fun and allowed me to test my ability.

I knew i was into tech but didnt really have much of a foot to stand on, i knew alot of general knowledge but the actual pratical work i never really had the chance of doing or just didnt know where to start. An amazing and intense 3 week course! I've absolutely loved how easy and structured SheCodes have made it. Matt is amazing at explaining everything in simple ways, and the community and help you receive is more than I imagined. Really pleased to have the Basics which will really help me in my job roles, and even as a side hobby. My appreciation for developers really began when I became a Product Manager working in health tech. It was then I realised how much goes into developing a product. As a Product Manager I had to ensure I told the "story" about how users need to be engaging with the product, but had little to no understanding of how the developers actually thought. This basics course with SheCodes has really given me an amazing insight into the developer/coding world. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it certainly has broken a lot of misconceptions that coders are introverts and quiet - The SheCodes community is amazing and I've met extroverts, ambiverts and all kind of personalities whilst learning. The course was well-structured and the instructor was extremely knowledgeable and patient. I came into the course with very little programming experience, but by the end I felt confident in my ability to write code and solve problems. Learning coding makes you think more logical, and brings you into a different way of communicating, receiving and putting out information and commands, in order to achieve the end goal. I find the course challenging but satisfying, making me egger to move on to the next task. You have slack, where you can meet other women from all over the world, that are experiencing the same as you. Really enjoying the course. This is the first internet course that has ever court, my attention, and i am happy I joined up.
This course has truly been an immersive experience! The sessions have been very interactive and engaging with tasks to consolidate learning. Meanwhile the SheCodes team have been swift in reviewing completed tasks and providing much support.

I have just completed this workshop which I found to be very helpful and also challenging. Its certainly a step up from shecodes basics but you learn so much more especially in the context of javascript and API's. I now feel confident in making other similar projects using all the technologies that I have learnt.
