I had always loved tech but never really thought about doing a course due to my law background. Attending the free workshop made me more interested, hence, I decided to take part in the SheCodes basics course. This has definitely been an interesting journey, Matt (the instructor) makes it easy because he explains everything step by step. This has made me confident about working with html, css and javascript. I look forward to the next stage in this course.
SheCodes Basics was a really fun and rewarding introduction to front end coding! I enjoyed the opportunity to regularly submit homework, and I am looking forward to developing my skills further.

Where do I start?!β¦ The reason for joining this workshop was to learn a new skill that could help me change careers. At first, quite a few things weren't clicking because, I do admit, I am a slow learner; which is nothing to be embarrassed about, but it takes people like me a little longer to grasp information. The way Matt has structured the workshop has made it understandable to follow. I would for sure recommend!! I have loved learning the coding basics, the way the teaching works suits me and my ADHD because it is broken down into small steps which are easy to follow and short. I can do a little bit at a time, save it and return to it. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge over all and would love to carry on.
It has been really great to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript through a real-world project that I can actually use! I am really proud to have built something I can share with people and add to a portfolio. I am looking forward to consolidating this knowledge further and experimenting with differently structured weather apps going forward!

Thank you for this course, i'm a mother of two babies and finding the time to actually sit down and do this was difficult but once I did my god the lessons were very full of information, some confusing (as this was my first time ever coding), but really well planned out so it wasn't too much information to take in at once. This really was a challenge but I LOVED IT! I would definitely recommend this course 150%! Will be taking on another course soon.
I am so happy with everything I have learned during my studying at SheCodes. These past few weeks have been so much fun and I would very much love to do it all over again. I will be taking these skills I have learned and put them into practice. I am hoping to become a front end developer in the near future!

I find it difficult to learn technical things just by learning the theory, but SheCodes was the perfect balance of theory and hands-on practice, which made me feel like I actually learned and understood the basics. I can now use that knowledge next time I work with others in the tech industry to better understand their work or if I decide to take it further and enroll in more advanced courses to do coding myself. I highly recommend!

Before starting the course Javascript seemed really daunting... However the tutorials and projects are really beginner-friendly and having scratched the surface I'm excited to learn more!
Great Course. I started off with no previous knowledge or experience and very nervous to study again after such a long time. however I have learnt so much in only 3 weeks. Matt delivers the lessons in a way even I understood. I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed learning. Really excited to build on what I have learnt.

The course is great for beginners. Thank you very much to the team of SheCodes and to the teacher Matt for the knowledge which was received. I enjoyed learning and doing my homework. Sometimes it was difficult (especially the last big project lol) but it doesn't mean that it wasn't enjoyable. The team via email and on Slack was very nice and helpful.
I found the 3 week beginner course with SheCodes really interesting. It was challenging at times, but broken down enough for a beginner to get my head round it. I really enjoyed the homework tasks as it was really cool to see how far I had come with learning. I would highly recommend! Can't wait to move onto the next course :)

I've achieved more in the last couple of weeks on SheCodes than I have in the last few years when I've tried to learn through other teaching platforms. SheCodes breaks down the essentials into short and informative videos, and the demonstration challenges really help to build up the learning further.
I was unsure about taking the plunge with this course but so glad that I did! While it has been hard work, I have really enjoyed learning the basics of coding. Matt makes it fun and breaks it down in a way that is easy to understand for a beginner. I think this is the most valuable thing about the course - I'm sure that learning alone you would hit a wall quickly and lose motivation to continue, whereas I can't wait to carry on learning. I've found this course very enjoyable to work on, I've loved seeing practical demonstrations of my knowledge expanding and the course material has been really easy to follow along with. I really loved working on my dice rolling project and can't wait to continue learning more JavaScript, CSS, HTML and strengthening my knowledge. Initially my concern was not being able to keep up with the pace of the class and the deadlines due to my lack of knowledge, however each lesson is incredibly user friendly and I was able to revert back to the recordings when necessary which was a huge help.

In my opinion, SheCodes Basics is an amazing start for your coding journey. I really enjoyed the process, it was pretty easy but interesting and challenging at the same time! One of the things I liked the most is the UI/UX of SheCodes, as it shows a real example of good design and motivates you to continue coding.
SheCodes has given me a great introduction to coding and has helped me build my confidence with trying new things. I feel like I've learned a lot in just 3 weeks, the lessons are concise and engaging and I loved doing the challenges. They were varied and held me accountable!
It was a good introductory course, breaking the content down into the important elements of programming. However, there can be a lot of elements in HTML, CSS and Javascript. It still requires a fair amount of self-study in order to explore the different elements available, capabilities, rules, limitations, and dependencies. Although, this can be fairly reflective of programming itself. There is so much to know that you cannot teach all of it and you'll learn it as you do it.
Was a great starting step to coding. Videos and slack help were very helpful and informative. Looking forward to learning more.

What a journey! I came back to conclude my weather page after a year off to start a new role in finance after lockdown, work takes up a lot of my time,But everything was where i left it on the shecodes.io site and i picked up classes and coding like I had never left! Fantastic experience and I can't wait to start looking for front-end development roles in the new year once I complete the responsive and react courses. Thank you for the awesome flexibility.
I've been meaning to start this course for a long time after first seeing it advertised on Instagram. I finally took the plunge and I'm really glad I did! I was interested in coding when I was a teenager and I was self taught and loved doing it back then but other priorities took over and I stopped practicing. A few lessons in and everything came back to me, like riding a bike! I can't wait to progress to the next workshop to expand my knowledge even further.
