I was looking to transition from biological sciences having just completed a degree to computer sciences and SheCodes Basics was the perfect introduction to coding.
Living in an increasingly digitalised world, it's important to continuously improve your digital skills. This course gave me a really good insight into the coding world and enabled me to complete a coding project independently. Despite it being a basic coding course, it has given me more than just the possibility to create a website; it piqued my interest in IT, contributed towards my problem-solving skills and broadened my digital understanding.
SheCodes Basics really helped to solidify my understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript. Matt's tutorials were so easy to understand, and I loved that I could complete the weekly lessons at my own pace.

what a great workshop! A few weeks ago I started as an absolute beginner and today I built a webpage with HTML,CSS and JavaScript.
I found SheCodes structured enough for it to hold you accountable, but also fun and engaging. I am hoping to get onto the more advanced courses so I can learn more. I already had a bit of JS knowledge so the basics was not overly challenging, but I still enjoyed coding the project A LOT, it is my first real-looking webpage and I am quite happy with how it turned out!

SheCodes Basic was a lovely intro to HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I loved the classes and the challenges. Getting to do some hands-on coding right away, really made me feel like I was learning quickly and effectively. It has definitely inspired me to want to learn more coding! This just gives you a little glimpse at the great possibilities knowing how to code can create.
The content was really helpfully explained and broken down into understandable chunks. I learnt a lot and feel like I have a good understanding even though I only did the basics course!

I've been wanting to start coding for a while but have never been able to afford the courses. Then I came across SheCodes and it is honestly one of the best things I've ever done! The lessons are really easy to follow and when you complete the homework you get a real sense of achievement. I can't wait to upgrade to the next course.

I really enjoyed doing this workshop. Matt explained how to code in a way that was easy to understand and follow. As someone who has always had an interest in coding and tech but never knew how to get in (and having left school!) I really thought I would never be able to learn a skill such as this. After being recommended the course through a friend I couldn't be happier with the results so far! Great teaching tools and support through the Slack community and fun challenges with the appropriate amount of 'hand holding' vs encouragement to find the answers yourself! Been interested in learning to code for awhile as I work in a software development company, this course has been brilliant to learn the basics and feel super proud of how much I have learnt already!
Great program to begin learning responsive coding.
I would 100% recommend SheCodes to friends and colleagues who want to learn how to code. The lessons are broken down into manageable chunks and very well explained. Plus if you are stuck or not sure there is a fantastic community on hand to help. I found SheCodes Plus engaging and challenging, and I am so pleased I persisted as the end result is incredibly rewarding. Having a project to show at the end is great for development and a potential career in Coding.
I would highly recommend SheCodes! It was really fun and everything was taught in a simple, clear and effective way. As someone who was worried they would struggle with this, I didn't really struggle much at all.

The course seems to be covering all the basics, perhaps a bit hard to understand at points as some points are not well explained and to non-native English speakers this could pose a challenge but once you get over that the course seems to be structured in a simple way for easy learning and I look forward to learning more

I really enjoyed this course. It has lots of great information. The videos and assignments were useful as was the Slack channel. I really like that it's self-paced which is great if you're a parent like me and need a flexible study schedule.
SheCodes is brilliantly laid out, easy to digest and fun! The challenges can be frustrating but the Slack channel is full of fellow students and mentors to help you along. My boyfriend wishes he was a woman just so he could do it! :D
Having previously done a data and SQL course elsewhere, which I found too abstract, I decided to try front end so that I could see what I'd built. As a visual learner I've really enjoyed the SheCodes Basics course. I found the videos really helpful because I could see what things were supposed to look like, and also go back and re-watch things. I'm excited to start SheCodes Plus!

Really enjoyed SheCodes, it was my first real experience of coding, the videos and lessons were clear and easy to understand. Challenges were helpful for putting the theory into practice in short bursts. I was really surprised by how quickly I picked things up and was able to understand the different coding languages, it was a real confidence boost. The final project was an opportunity to play around with coding and be creative, and put a little of my personality into the code. Would definitely recommend and I hope to be able to join a more advanced class and keep learning and building my coding skills.
Initially, I thought IT technology or programming was far beyond my dream. I badly wanted to learn coding but was not sure where and how to start. When I saw my brother coding, I used to get frustrated thinking that I was so laid back and unknowledgeable in the filed of IT development. But SheCodes helped me to dream again, to be able to say that "I can also do Coding". I love coding. Thank you Matt and the team ❤️.
I've love SheCodes! I find the way the course is broken down into bitesize classes, with homework to test what you've learnt a fantastic way to learn coding. Highly recommended course for anyone wanting to try coding and see what it's all about.
I was admittedly a bit skeptical at first, but I'm now left pleasantly surprised! Matt's explanations of the basics have filled in the gaps in my prior studies, which I'm really happy about. He seems to know how to go into just the right amount of detail without going overboard. Attention to detail can even be felt in the UI/UX of the SheCodes site itself, which contributes to an effective learning environment. I've worked in other coding communities, but I've not felt as safe, relaxed, comfortable and motivated in learning to code as I do here, particularly thanks to the fact that it's not male dominated. Thanks very much to Matt and the SheCodes team! I'm looking very forward to knocking out the rest of the workshops 💪

I really enjoyed the class. Matt makes it very easy to understand and enjoyed the parts where you were encouraged to find solutions on your own.
A bit too much left to investigate for yourself. I understand why this is very beneficial but it takes up a lot of un allocated time. When you are tight on time this adds a lot of stress.
Super easy to follow: the challenges after each video ensure you understood the topic and give you the opportunity to play around with what you just learned.

This course was very impressing, it pushed me as a person but I would recommend it and I already have. I really enjoyed this workshop – I've tried other coding classes in the past but have always found it hard to retain what I'm learning. The fact that with SheCodes you're constantly putting what you've just learned into practice is not only fun, but helps massively with that retention.

Got the basic workshop from SheCodes as a christmas present for myself and it is a great choice. The content of the workshop does not overload beginners w/ work. Learning is flexible in terms of location and time. I enjoy every small challenge from the workshop. It is a good platform to learn coding.

Great course to learn the basics
This really is a great workshop - Matt is easy to understand and takes you through it all step-by-step which is great for those with no tech background. I also love that I can work at my own pace and it means I can keep up whilst working full time!
I have really enjoyed the course and the mini practices after each lesson. The steps were easy to follow but it still felt like a challenge to complete the homework at the end of each week. If someone is interested to understand some basics, SheCodes is worth the investment as the deadlines keep you motivated to complete the course.
I took a gamble on this course, with absolutely no coding experience, I didn't even know what a html was. I have learnt so much in just 3 weeks, I'm very impressed with how well Matt teaches the course and brings up your knowledge at a great pace. I am usually terrible with deadlines and completing work but I was genuinely excited for my lessons and was very satisfied when I learnt a new skill or language. Before SheCodes the inner workings of a website felt like some kind of secret magic that only a select few could understand. Now, having completed the workshop, I feel much more knowledgeable about these elusive inner workings though I still have a way to go to get to where I want to be.
