At times, I found the course quite challenging but I was determined to not ask for help and find out the solution on my own. It is so rewarding with being able to do it correctly! I would recommend this course to anyone looking to get a basic knowledge of coding. The videos and challenges made it really simple to understand and really enjoyable! The homework and final project that was set was fun as well I'm hoping to be able to continue onto SheCodes Plus soon!

As someone who has dyslexia, I thought it would be impossible for me to learn how to code. But with Shecodes, I was able to learn at my own pace and received support from tutors as well as fellow learning coders. I would recommend SheCodes to all.
Matt provides such informative videos that give you the fundamentals of front end web development whilst also being fun and interesting. There has been lots of opportunities to practice my new found skills throughout the course and I look forward to expanding my knowledge even further in the future.
I've learnt so much over the duration of the course and really enjoyed every minute. Coming from knowing very little about coding and the start of the course, I feel proud of what I have achieved. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to commit enough time to the course on top of a full time job but I've found myself looking forward to spending my time on lessons and challenges in the evenings and weekends. The lessons were fun and engaging and support always on hand in slack. I can't wait to start the next part of my coding journey with SheCodes React 😊.

It's really great how you explain and simplify the things. Sometimes i had a small issues but the team in slack was absolutely amazing support. This has been a really enjoyable workshop, very interactive and each topic is broken down into easy steps to follow with lots of challenges and practice along the way. This meant I had lots of practice consolidating the knowledge I had learnt every step of the way!! I would recommend this workshop to anyone who is interested in coding it is great for beginners and changed my belief that I couldn't understand coding!!

A great 3 week course, covering the very first skills in coding!
I've absolutely loved this course and highly recommend it. The key thing for me is how Matt teaches you the 'tricks of the trade' as he goes and shows you how real coders do it, not just teaching you the code in isolation of the real world. I've found Matt really easy to follow, pace is perfect, and I've been shocked at how much I have learnt in just 10 hours! I was skeptical of an online course (as I struggle to keep motivated usually) but the videos are short and manageable, and there are fun challenges after each one, with instant solutions. It's very inspiring and the tools and community are excellent too - if you need help, it's there 24/7. Can't wait to move on to the 4 month course!
SheCodes gave me great insight into the basics of coding. At first I wasn't sure I would be able to commit to an online course, and instead the lessons were easy to follow, the structure is incredibly flexible and allows you to work at your own pace. Most importantly, they showed how coding can be a business tool, so I felt very inspired, motivated to continue, oh, and of course I had lots of fun!
Challenging but a fulfilling course
I enjoyed this workshop so much! I hold a PhD in Neurobiology and I was an absolute beginner before starting this workshop. I thought my brain won't be able to get how to code. I am truly amazed how quick we learnt and what we are already able to do! True, we still have a lot to learn (so google will be your best friend for a while :D ) but it is also so addictive. I am definitely going to continue with SheCodes Plus, I am so excited!! I love your approach, it is totally fitting how I like to work and learn: the deadlines, the interactions on Slack, everything is so well-organised! I have already recommended it to my friends. I would like to thank SheCodes team, with all the students you have, you are still so quick to reply you are amazing! Well done all!
The SheCodes workshop has been a fantastic introduction into the world of coding. I have learnt so much over the past 3 weeks and doing my own project has made me feel confident to create landing pages and experiment with styling!
SheCodes Plus was the perfect continuation of the introduction course! I have learnt so much and my confidence to code has increased immensely! What's great about this workshop is that you get to think for yourself and begin to problem solve your own code. This helps prevent you from getting stuck in a tutorial hole and actually think about what you are coding and how you want to do it. A good experience for beginners! You need to be able to put the time in to teach yourself a lot of things, but it is fun- if you are into this kind of thing!

SheCodes is one of the best beginners workshop out there. Matt is an amazing teacher, he takes the time to break things down to you and gives great context regarding each subject. I've thoroughly enjoyed learning html, css and javascript - seeing what they can do has been eye-opening.

I cannot even put into words how this experience has changed my outlook on the direction I want my career to take and what a great boost it has given to my confidence levels. I have always viewed Tech industry as a dark horse that is very exciting but also scary and unreachable at the same time. After learning coding basics from the free class (hey, I thought I have nothing to lose but an hour of my time 😅) and seeing how many women completed the workshops, I thought to myself, "If they can do it, surely so can I!". So I did and absolutely loved it, not only I discovered that coding ideally suits my personality and mindset, but also that I'm pretty much into the design side of things. Matt and the team provide a very safe and supportive learning environment where things are well explained and provide you with plenty of opportunities to practice yourself. The SheCodes workshop boosted my confidence, I feel so happy when I am coding and listening to music even more so when my other half is also coding and gets happy when they see me achieving what I would like to achieve, so far my favourite thing is CSS
I've had so many "false starts" learning how to code from various different sources and eventually came to the conclusion I just couldn't do it. SheCodes changed that! The clear, bite-size instruction videos, example code snippets, challenges and homework tasks are such a great way to see progress and make it all feel manageable and achievable. I cannot stop raving about this course! I was so nervous that my terrible maths would stand in the way of my completing it, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Matt explains everything really thoroughly and at a pace that's really easy to keep up with. The only thing I felt perhaps needed a bit more explanation was JavaScript as, at times, the challenges were a bit more advanced than had been explained in the lessons, which got me in a bit of a flap. On the whole though, the best learning experience (online or in-person) I've ever had! Merci beaucoup, Matt! 😉
The past 3 weeks have been so much fun! I never knew coding could be so easy to learn. This course has REALLY subverted my expectation of what coding would be like. I am generally very artsy and love to be creative and this provided me with a wonderful creative outlet, as well as such useful tools for marketing and building websites. I would absolutely recommend and encourage any woman to try this course.

This was amazing! Matt's videos guided me through every step, and getting feedback through the Slack app was almost instant. It was especially great to get help from other women on the course, who were always ready to lend a hand and offer solutions when I was stuck. Overall I would recommend this to anyone, you don't need any prior knowledge at all. As an English student I thought coding would always be outside of my skillset; if I can do it, anyone can!

The 3 week course was a perfect way to get a good overall view of HTML, CSS and Javascript. Weekly assignments meant that you had to learn by doing and it really made a big difference compared to other courses I've done in the past where everything is just based on viewing video content. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to start learning coding and to understand more about web elements.

This was one of the best £60 I've ever spent. I had so much fun, learned so much new stuff and will probably (definitely) do SheCodesPlus (at least). I'm amazed at how well Matt is able to explain what is essentially learning a new language in 3 weeks. It all made sense and I feel he gave us the right amount of info at the right time, building knowledge in a clear way with every new lesson. Just loved it.
