When I bought the course I was scared. Scared that I will find out that I don't get it. That's too difficult for me. That I will just waste money. I was wrong! turned out that I don't suck and I actually enjoy coding. At least at this stage, and that I want to learn more. I really liked classes with quick videos explaining and showing most important things. Although, almost at the end I realized that there are some extra info below the videosπ€¦ββοΈ. What works for me are challenges and weekly homework as well as the final project. I think it helps to learn better through the whole course step by step without being left with everything for the final project. I would definitely recommend the basic course to anyone. It's a great opportunity to test the water without investing big money into something we are not sure we want.
I really had fun building my own project from scratch following the instructions in SheCodes Basics workshop. The course is interactive and easy to follow, and let you eager to learn more about more complex JavaScript functions and more!

Never have I ever sit down for 3 hours straight just to study or learn something. Well I guess now I know what I really love to do. Matt Delac is so good at explaining everything. He teach us one by one, and he even show the solution after we submit our homework. Such a great guy with a great team. When I'm stuck and need help, the team they help us straight away. As an absolute coding beginner, and someone who normally gravitates towards live-taught courses, I was very impressed with how easy it was to follow along with the video lessons. I only had a couple of questions throughout the workshop, and I was able to find the answers on the very active Slack threads, where the support team are very responsive. I have been thinking about learning to code for more than 10 years but, always felt too overwhelmed or too intimidated to start. I was struggling to keep myself motivated with other online forms of learning, but was drawn to this course as it had a good structure and deadlines to meet to keep you on task. The addition of a slack community/ help center was what made me choose this course as in the initial steps it was incredibly beneficial being able to look at previous questions or post your own when you are really stuck, while being taught how to figure this out for yourself in the future. Could not fault this course!
SheCodes has a fantastic entry-level course for learning the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The Basics Workshop was a great kickstarter that prompted me to start building my own custom webpages for my website. Also, the deadlines were a MUST for me!

I was very apprehensive about learning to code as I was previously a History teacher for ten years and I wasn't sure if I would be able to pick it up. I had a very basic understanding of coding thanks to my partner who is a Full Stack Engineer. Through Matt's classes I have been able to increase my knowledge and put what I have learnt into practice. I still have a long way to go, however, I feel more confident now and I have even taught my boyfriend a few tricks and functions that he didn't know. I am looking forward to learning more with Matt and SheCodes.

I learnt a lot about coding and found it to be more intersting. It would be great if other students can also attend, its not difficult to understand at all after all me a 15yr old did it.

As someone who had never coded and had no knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript before starting my first coding workshop with SheCodes, I found the workshops very informative and more importantly, enjoyable. I had a wonderful time learning how to code and putting what I had learned into action. I felt proud seeing my progress throughout the workshops and completing my final project on my own. If you are hesitating whether or not you should join the SheCodes workshops, I would tell you to go for it. I used to HATE any coding courses I did in university as part of my design degree. Even though my brain held on to a lot more information than I previously thought, the past 3 weeks definitely made me understand the basics and be able to actually use it without "cheating". I had no experience with coding at all and I didn't have any interest in learning it as I have a friend who does coding and it just looked complicated. But I saw SheCodes ad by accident and the first things that caught my eyes were the colour of the website and the word "She". I decided to attend the free class and I remember Matt saying that he built this community because of the lack of female representatives in the tech industry. This is what actually pushed me to go ahead and try the basic workshop. I am very happy with that decision because I realised that it's fun and not too complicated and now I have basic experience in coding! Thank you to Matt for the clear explanations and for the SheCodes team who are always there to help and greet us which made the whole learning journey even more amazing!

I often say to everyone around me that SheCodes is the best thing that has ever happened in my life so far. In my case, this course is not about learning coding only and by the way, we have the best teacher ever... but it is also about fulfillment and happiness with what I am doing. I've been working in Finance my whole life and decided to try something different. I was always interested in programing and this course seemed like a good way to start coding. I can say that I'm not disappointed. Really enjoyed the classes and the way how Matt teaches. It was really fun! :)

Amazing course so far! I tried other coding bootcamps and they were either too expensive or too hard and tedious to learn. Doing the SheCodes workshop was very instructive and fun, the classes and challenges are very interesting, and the staff are very nice, they give all the support needed. The extra material and tools provided on the SheCodes website are very helpful as well and I have found the SheCodes Radio something very thoughtful because the songs are perfectly selected to be listened to when coding. All these elements make the whole experience very enjoyable.
I really liked the format of the platform and how the lessons were divided. I also really enjoyed doing the homework and having a solution video right after submitting the task.

I started with the introduction workshop and continued with Plus. While I highly recommend the introductory workshop to get an overview of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I was a bit disappointed with the follow-up course and wished to go more in-depth into the topics. Nonetheless, it's a great concept with great support throughout the course.
This was a great continuation of the previous SheCodes workshops. Real fun building and styling a responsive page and getting to know CSS a lot better. Thanks Matt and lovely SheCodes Team!
Very easy to follow and to stay on schedule. The lessons are split in a practical and convenient way. It is a lot of fun to do the challenges and the homework. Finding motivation was never an issue.

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at coding but didn't know where to start then this workshop is for you! The lesson plans and video tutorials are very thorough and easy to follow. The challenges solidify the knowledge you accumulate throughout the lessons while also being fun. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who wants a good starting point to coding.

Highly recommended to anyone wishing to learn some basics on coding or anyone looking for a refresher. I've tried to teach myself some coding before, but it's different having someone to teach you and knowing that you have support when you get stuck on something. What I love about SheCodes is that it's more practical and doesn't give too much emphasis on theories. From working in a tech company, what you need more is the practical application and not the theories. I really enjoyed this workshop, and so I'd definitely recommend it!
