Im so glad to have done the SheCodes basic workshop. I had no coding background prior to doing this workshop, and I was worried that I will have difficulty understanding the workshop. However, all the lessons are very detailed and easy to understand, and the course allows me to go at my own pace, which is very helpful to me. If I have any questions, I can easily ask it on slack and my queries will be answered in just a few hours. If you are a beginner to coding and you are interested in learning how to code, SheCodes is the perfect program.
Overall, most classes were very easy to understand as Matt Delac made all these lessons easy to understand. Even though I faced challenges throughout the workshop, I always had my questions answered through Slack which have helped me a lot. I had lots of fun figuring out problems that I faced and can't wait to join the more advanced workshops.π€
My first experience with coding, and I found it challenging yet enjoyable at the same time. The information were split into bite size lessons, which made it easier to understand and apply.

The workshop was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be "head-scratching" and "hair-pulling" kind of struggle. But I am glad that Matt's videos were straightforward. Explanation throughout the course is very clear. It was fun to have challenges at the end of every lesson, its like a recap of what we had learnt. It helps make sure that I really understand the concepts and able to apply it correctly.
I thought this might be difficult but the video and homework assigned makes it easy to learn and understand the concept on various aspect of HTML/CSS/JavaScript. By the way, JavaScript is lots of fun.

My coding journey started end Sept 2021, with the Basic workshop - I've always fancied understanding computer and web programming languages better, and finally had the bandwidth for it during a work lull. Much to my surprise nerding out in this way was not only satisfying but actually enjoyable. SheCodes Plus was a progression that I really hesitated taking up because of work and life commitments - it tested not only patience and meticulousness, but also definitely increased my appreciation for code as a medium of expression and vital mode for data sharing... and my literacy in the annoyingly hairy weird wonderful world of HTML, CSS, and JS. Definitely glad I was persuaded, and gladder to have stuck the course.

This workshop is very suitable for beginners. Matthieu also gave many of his own tips along the way. I liked that there were exercises to complete after each lessons so that we could practice it and they were not simply copies of what was taught in the lesson. I also liked the breakdown of lessons and the appealing color/style of the entire workshop. Can't wait to continue my journey with SheCodes! Just take note that if you are a slow-er learner like me, you could be taking more than the stipulated hours a week.

I decided to apply for this workshop after graduate from school while waiting to get acceptance for my university... I would say it is challenging but thanks to Matt's good explanation and help from Slack, it is a fun journey as i get to learn how to make my own weather website and i am really amaze with myself that i'm able to complete this workshop despite the challenges. Coding as my future career would be fun and interesting!
The workshop was pretty easy to follow overall, which is great for beginners or those with no coding experience such as myself. I feel the activities at the end of each lesson definitely helped with my understanding of the topic at hand. It was also quite flexible - especially with the option of extensions made available - as my schedule was unexpectedly busy during the workshop duration. All in all, I would definitely recommend this workshop as a great starting point to one's coding journey :)
As a UIUX designer, I think it's good to have a good, basic understanding of code. SheCodes gives you just that! Within 3 weeks, I can already apply some of the knowledge into my work and understand my developers pov much better.

I actually came across Matt's free coding webinar as an advertisement on Instagram after a very long week at work. It was serendipitous as I had been worrying about my career and my lack of 'practical' future-ready skills. I really like Matt's pedagogy - his lessons are very structured and he makes coding jargon simple and relatable. I honestly did not know what to expect going into the workshop, but I am pleasantly surprised by how much I have learned over such a short period of time. It has inspired me to think about alternative career paths, and I'm looking forward to joining more workshops with SheCodes.

SheCodes was the workshop that I needed to kickstart my journey of learning to code. It has a great structure which makes things easy to learn step-by-step and lessons are bite-size so it's easy to remember. I love the fact that there are real-life projects at the end of the course because it really helps with applications rather than just full-on memorisation work. I really enjoyed the bite sized lessons, they are very engaging and immersive. Easy to schedule my time for learning as well. The small challenges after every lesson has been great to test my understanding of the topics.

I had such a fun time playing around with these classes and the features, not only while learning but outside of SheCodes experimenting on my own. The classes are not difficult to follow and the commitment is not draining at all. I felt like there should have been more difficult tasks, but often times I got to learn how to research on how to develop code by myself as well as by some of the challenges! A few lessons in the course are challenging; however, Matt does an excellent job at breaking down the topics into appropriately sized lessons which makes them less intimidating and stressful for a learner with non-technical background!
