SheCodes Basics was a really nice introduction to coding for me. There was a steady balance of feeling capable as well as being challenged. I appreciated Matt's teaching style, which sometimes led to having to do some of my own research, which is not dissimilar to what I'll likely need to do when I work in tech. One to the next course!

It was a bit challenging as a total beginner in CSS and JavaScript. I had some sort of confusion on certain lessons and I am working on it, on a daily basis. I would recommend SheCodes to ladies who plan on upskilling their skills.

I went into this with zero experience, but the course was well structured that it was so easy to understand. I really enjoyed it and I am surprised at how much I have learned and how much I can do by myself with just the basics course.
The experience was so much fun and easier because I already had some form of knowledge from my university, so it was a bit of revision for me, but I really enjoyed this form of teaching and looking forward to more challenges.

It was not easy but definitely doable......
My first 3 weeks with SheCodes has been quite the ride, I was very new to the world of coding with very little experience and there was a lot of information that I had learn and it was overwhelming, but I feel as though there is room for me to get better at this craft as long as I push myself harder. Matt was a great instructor, he was able to make me understand everything better and I am proud of my first project.
I really enjoyed the SheCodes basics, the practicals were very helpful in grasping concepts.

This workshop is beginner friendly. The instructor takes you through all the concepts and is very easy to understand. I enjoyed completing the challenges as they were both challenging but also fascinating.
The course is not demanding at all, it makes coding exciting and fun because you can do it at your own pace and there is a lot of room for creativity in the final project!!!

December 2022 i decided to challenge myself into doing something outside of my comfort zone from a career perspective in 2023! Fast forward to February 2023 I am graduating for the SheCodes Basics course. I am confident enrolling for SheCodes was the best decision ever! The SheCodes basics workshop is a great resource for beginners who have never touched code before. Matt's explanations are excellent for those who are unfamiliar with coding. My interest in coding began in late 2022, whilst I was in my third year of University. I realised that I had little passion for my major and wanted to find something new that would spark passion within me. I had thought about going back to university after I graduated to study an MBA or something in finance. But, 2022 was a year of exploration and self discovery for me, I had met a lot of friends within the tech industry, who suggested I look into coding and that coding was a great field for women. So, I did just that. I began my research and saw an overwhelming amount of different positions within the tech industry. Immediately, I was drawn to the idea of cybersecurity and began to do a course on that on freeCodeCamp but it was overwhelmingly difficult and frustrating. I gave up as quickly as I had began. Then, I return after I had written my final year exams and went back to my research, I looked for advice from the large online coding community and everyone had advised to start with web development, as it was the foundation of understanding coding and breaking into the industry. So, I started again, watching Youtube videos, following along with them as they began to code, and at first, it was overwhelming but it made a lot more sense this time since I was taking baby steps. I spent a month being self taught, assimilating the different markup languages, wanting to perfect them before I added Javascript to my roster. I went on Tiktok and found my community in 'Black women in Tech-tok', that's when I came across SheCodes for the first time. I always knew I was a learner that needed a roadmap with structure, so I knew I would thrive in an online school or course, so I knew SheCodes would be for me. I had a stable enough understanding of HTML and CSS and SheCodes helped me begin to understand the ropes of Javascript and I'm excited to learn more, know more and grow with SheCodes. This is only the beginning of my journey with our amazing instructor Matt and the SheCodes team.

Absolutely loved the entire journey of learning and practicing as I go. This course has made me look at every single thing on the internet differently and I find myself looking at elements on web pages and thinking "hey I know how to do that in CSS". I'd definitely recommend this as a great introductory course.
I found so refreshing to have a place to learn, and still have the space to figure other details myself. Tinkering with different solutions and seeing different ways in which parts could work out and come together has been the most fun!
Learning how to code through shecodes basics workshop has been a really great experience and journey altogether. I cannot believe how Matt makes it so easy to learn how to code, the multiple challenges and interactive videos make it easy for us to follow and implement what we learn as we go. The entire experience was wonderful. I was able to apply what I had learned to the challenges, and when I ran into problems, I would refer back to the videos. If I still couldn't figure out the problem, the question had probably already been asked on Slack, which was very useful. I also appreciated how quickly they provided feedback on the homework and pointed out your errors. The feedback, as well as having other students inquire what I was struggling with, made the experience less frightening and increased my interest.
