The three weeks I spent learning was amazing, there was so much to learn and practice, really excited to learn more as I progress through the programme.
I actually started the lessons late, but one thing I really loved about SheCodes was that I could start and work on coding whenever I was available, at my own pace. Finally, I managed to complete this part of the journey, and I'm really glad I did. Completing the SheCodes Basics Add-On was a transformative experience! Before starting, I had no coding experience in this area, but the lessons were clear and engaging, making coding approachable and fun. The step-by-step approach helped me understand the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the interactive projects gave me the confidence to apply what I learned. Over the last two weeks, I’ve been working on an exciting project, building a World Clock application using moment.tz, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, hosted on Netlify and managed through GitHub. This project has been an incredible learning experience for me. After 2.5 months of working on and finishing two projects — a Weather App that provides real-time data and now the World Clock, I can confidently say that my understanding of coding and app development has improved significantly. With the World Clock project, I was able to integrate different time zones, show the current time in multiple cities, and even find my own location in real time. Thanks to SheCodes Plus, I now feel more confident in my coding abilities. The structured lessons and hands-on projects have given me a deeper understanding of how to build apps, troubleshoot issues, and what to look for when things aren't working as expected. I’m constantly learning and improving my skills, and I’m excited to keep building more projects as I grow as a developer. Taking our first steps towards a new goal can be quite intimidating. I know I felt that way before I completed my very own SheCodes course. A comprehensive dossier. A great interface for courses designed to enable all learner styles alike: visual, auditory, read/write, kinaesthetic. A complete set of tools. A community to "pave the way", to listen, to provide support, because SheCodes evidently knows we are stronger when we are together. It all adds up to an amazing experience, one which will in turn open the doors on which we dare knock, made for women all around the world.
SheCodes Plus has been an amazing and rewarding journey for me. While the course was challenging at times, it pushed me to grow and develop skills I didn’t know I had. It's been an amazing few days, I started the 1st week of the basics workshop late because my laptop only arrived that Friday(8 November) but I was able to catch up and now today(20 November) marks such a significant achievement for me. The SheCodes Plus challenge and course have been an incredible experience! Learning about open-source code on GitHub, hosting a website, and integrating the SheCodes Weather API and Weather Forecast API in JavaScript was both challenging and rewarding.
