I love that the learning environment is not intimidating for beginners yet challenging enough to ensure the students get the most out of the course. That was an interesting course for learning the basics. I liked the setting and the presentations. Sometimes I felt overwhelmed by the amount of content, but actually it is not a big deal. It is like everywhere in life: the more you practice, the better you become. I had fun during that course as well... and this is said by someone who totally disliked IT and coding beforehand because of shi*** experience at University. This workshop is excellent for learning the fundamentals of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Matt's videos are easy to follow along with and he reinforces the knowledge gained each step of the way. I was introduced to programming years ago in college so this was a great way to freshen up my skills!
I really enjoyed this three week intro to coding. Before taking this course I thought that learning to code would be impossible, but I now understand the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I would recommend SheCodes to anyone who is interested in learning how to build websites.
I really enjoyed the introduction to coding with SheCodes! I had been thinking about changing into product management for a long time but wasn't sure if I would like the coding aspects of it. I was really doubting if I would be able to do it and what's more important if I would enjoy it. These last few weeks have been extremely interesting and exciting for me. I had so much fun learning and creating new things. I find coding very rewarding as you see the results of your work almost immediately. I especially loved the final project as you get the chance to create something on your own and get to be really creative. The videos provided by Matt were very easy to follow and I learned a lot in such a short time! The community provided by SheCodes is great as you can both find help and help others! It feels like a safe space to ask any questions if you ever get stuck and you always get very quick feedback from the nice SheCodes team if the other girls can't help you out. I would absolutely recommend SheCodes and I am so much looking forward to continuing my learning in SheCodes Plus!
LOVED IT! I have been wanting to try coding to see if I liked it for a while but I was reluctant as I had no previous experience whatsoever with coding and I had no idea if it would be something I could actually do, or enjoy. I watched the SheCodes Video and decided that I would give it a try. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this 3 months more than I was expecting as the videos are easy to follow, Matt gives you great advice and if we get stuck, we can always count on the team to help us out on Slack. It was challenging at times, but also very rewarding when you get to see the result of something you have built. The project at the end was a lot of fun because it was more personal. SheCodes Plus was a great experience! In a short time you are able to create a functioning app! I found the process extremely rewarding, as you go back and forth with the coding of your app and the staff is always super helpful with all your doubts! Sincerely recommend!

after trying to learn on my own I realised a bit more structure would help me commit time and effort in my work week to really learn how to code. SheCodes provided deadlines and the lessons were so easy to follow it made it fun. I already recommended She codes to some of my friends and i think it was worth the expense - already thinking of upgrading to the 3 months course.
As a graduate in web and app design and development, this workshop was not immediately very challenging. But I could refresh my skills and learned some new things. You can always contact the coaches or fellow students if you have any questions. The answer follows quickly and is very extensive, with detailed documents if necessary. The workshop is very well explained and easy to follow, it is a nice way to take your first steps in html, css and javascript, it gives you good basic knowledge to work on and learn later more. It was a nice starter for coding. For someone -like me- who does not have experience with the topic, the workshop's methodology was efficient and very comfortable, I have to say that the support offered by the staff is amazing. I certainly would do the Plus Workshop because even if the information was clear the way to become a good coder is long and it needs tons of practice. Letting myself think under unknown logics was fun, I really enjoyed the practical and guided format.
I've really enjoyed the 3-week SheCodes Workshop. I started with knowing absolutely nothing about coding and had zero expectation as to what it would be like. I didn't expect to learn so much in a short amount of time. The course was set at a good pace with some really fun exercises so you can practice along the way. It was the perfect way to start my coding education.
I highly encourage anyone who is thinking about enrolling on this course, to do so. In today's day and age, I believe it is crucial to have some basic knowledge of coding. Whether if you want to inform yourself about this subject or embarking on a career change, I can safely say this course is for you. I found the course to be both intellectually challenging yet fun at the same time. Matt allows you to follow his examples in a very clear manner but also gives you the freedom of changing the code according to your preferences. The challenge after each lesson serves as very good practice and allows you to do your own research online. The internal chat between all students allows you to ask questions and/or answer queries permitting the experience to be a participative and collective one. I decided to enroll for the course because I was curious about what coding is all about, now I stand ever more interested in furthering and developing my knowledge in this exciting and rewarding field. I am a Pharmacy student who wanted to learn code because I have never explored this area before and I think that being able to make websites and read code is totally useful in any field of study! SheCodes allows you to work at your own pace, but still has deadlines for you to work towards. Matt is the instructor who is wonderful at teaching code, making my first coding course (ever in my life) really great. The structure of SheCodes allows you to directly apply what you learn after watching a short video, by completing short challenges. In my opinion, this is the best way to learn as you use what you learn shortly after learning it for the first time. It is also super fun to be able to see the text you are typing, turn into a beautiful website! I totally recommend taking this course :)
I liked the way things were explained by Mark. There was no complicated technical language used so I could follow the instructor easily. The information/functions explained in this particular course are pretty limited and the instructor encourages to look for more info in google. It would be nice if he could in one separate lesson briefly go through most used functions, especially in JS. Overall, I enjoyed the course and had much fun! Thanks!

I have always had interest in learning how to code, especially for designing and creating websites/apps. I had previously tried to learn coding through other platforms, but never really got the support I needed in order to actually put all the theory into practice. Learning how to code had been on my mind for a while now and SheCodes seemed like the perfect way to start. I enjoyed the fact that the classes were always extremely practical and straight to the point. Also, the exercises were quite useful to consolidate all the knowledge and put it into practice. My personal favorite was the final project because I was actually able to build something from scratch! I totally recommend SheCodes for anyone who is interested in this subject. Before the Workshop I thought I would struggle a lot. I mean it still can be tricky, but it is so much fun to figure it all out and see a final result that you built yourself!

I'm working in a school and thanks to this course I can start introducing HTML, CSS, and JS to my students. It was very fun and I hope to continue my learning experience with SheCodes.
This was my first time dipping my toes in the coding-waters. I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into and worried that I would never manage to keep up. I found this introductory workshop so easy to follow and enjoyed seeing the results of each challenge. I had a lot of fun completing this workshop and intend to upgrade to SheCodes Plus with a very real confidence in my abilities!

Uau! This workshop was such an adventure! I loved every part of it... There is something really unique and special about coding and seeing one's ideias become reality with a "simple" line of code. I know what you are thinking... "SIMPLE?? Hummm Hummm...Have you forgotten about "addEventListener" or "function whatIsWrongWithMyCode"???" No I haven´t! And yes, I will have to admit that it was not that simple all the times... Therefore I shall rephrase it to "challenging yet adventurous!" There is something really unique and special about coding and seeing one's ideias become reality with a "challenging yet adventurous" line of code (Indeed, much more accurate!) But in the end, I really enjoyed this workshop and I can´t wait to learn more about coding. I am pretty sure that I´ve made my team of Developers proud! SheCodes is so fun and so helpful! I started the program without even really knowing what coding actually was and three weeks later I've built a whole page. It was very affordable and helpful. The videos are straight forward and interesting, and the lessons run in a very orderly way that makes a lot of sense. I liked it so much I'm excited to launch right into Plus and would definitely recommend it even for the coding-curious and absolute beginners.

I absolutely loved this course! I came into it knowing a little HTML but still felt like I learned leaps and bounds more. The HTML and CSS were by far my favourite part. they were fun to watch and I loved the challenges. I wish javascript had focused less on alerts/prompts and much more on functionalities you see on websites you use now. I know what we learned can be applied to other functions but still feel not sure how I would apply them. That's really my gripe about the course. The project was really fun and wish there was more!

React is widely used nowadays and has a huge community of developers so it's great to learn it and find a lot of documentation and examples online. Learning React with SheCodes was great because the lessons and exercises make it a lot easier to learn, step by step, and Matt always teaches the last "trend" and what is being used right now. I came into this workshop knowing nothing about coding, and left feeling so inspired to keep learning more! The whole curriculum is very approachable--videos are short but very informative and easy to refer back to, the challenges and homework are helpful and the final project was really fun to work on. I found myself looking forward to this every day and spending hours in my final week working on creating new things outside of the workshop because it was so fun. The Slack group was helpful for questions, someone usually got back to me within a few hours with a quick and helpful answer, and it was really cool to see how many women were taking this from all over the world. This was my first exposure to coding, and Matt's teaching style and enthusiasm takes the intimidation factor out of it for anyone who might be hesitant to try. I highly recommend giving this a try--I definitely want to continue learning more after this.
I am 26 and had a child at 15. Our life has been a ride. I have been a server for well over 8 years and never have I ever thought about coding until our state went into lockdown and everyone including me lost our jobs. It was and still is quite scary but signing up for SheCodes has empowered me in a way I have never been able to reach before. I loved the entire course and I woke up bright and early every morning to finish my homework and study on my own time. Matt is a personable instructor that took the edge off learning something completely new and intimidating. I came into this with absolutely no knowledge of coding. And now I'm hooked. I am so proud of myself for trying something completely new and daunting and I really believe everyone can feel this way too. Thank you for such a fun and informative course!
I totally loved the experience throughout these past 3 weeks. It's been such an amazing journey where I've learned the basics, but fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I have always wanted to learn about front-end web development and this workshop helped me so much. Not only it got me started on the material, but it also made me fall in love with it even more!. Matt is such an amazing instructor that has easy-to-follow guidelines. His lessons are very clear and he provides good examples to follow. The challenges after each lesson reinforce the concepts throughout the course. Plus you get to connect with other amazing people, while helping each other out. I would definitely recommend this course!!!. Looking forward to the next steps to advance my knowledge in this area!
