When I started this course three weeks ago, I didn't believe that coding could be interesting and possible to learn for a beginner. I'm still shocked at how much I've learned in such a short time and what I've been able to create. Looking forward for the next chapters of this adventure! This was the most challenging, yet most fun workshop to complete. Retrospectively, I really did not think I would make it this far in understanding such complex technological tools like React. I finally finished the whole SheCodes Workshop package by completing the React course. I am very happy I decided to go through all this. It was a whole bunch of fun and here I am, knowing the basics of coding! I am proud of myself for what I've done in those months and I believe that I might actually do it as a job which would be a perfect passion/profession combo. Highly recommended!
As a design student I think coding gives me more tools to put my ideas into practice and communicate effectively. SheCodes made it super easy and fun for me to KEEP CODING! Highly recommend this workshop, can't wait for the next ones!

Highly recommended workshop! I had a lot of fun learning all the steps leading up to the final project. Matt is a great instructor and the community on Slack is super helpful for times when you get stuck or have a question. I'm a 22-year-old new mom who is looking to start my career and began with SheCodes. I'm not sure where I'd like to be in the tech world, but this course was very fun to do. I felt like I was gently being walked through the course and also was allowed to be challenged a bit. This is just the beginning! 10/10 recommend this course.

I loved doing the challenges at Shecodes! What initially started as a professional incentive to facilitate work, became a personal fascination. It is much more fun than I would have imagined and the videos are easy to follow. 10/10 recommend!!
This was a really fun project and I look forward to using it as a way to show my progress! This really got me into a design mindset and figuring out how to utilise design tools and really think about the process of committing changes and planning ahead. The deadlines give structure and I was happy to finally finish! On to React!

I was unsure about taking the plunge with this course but so glad that I did! While it has been hard work, I have really enjoyed learning the basics of coding. Matt makes it fun and breaks it down in a way that is easy to understand for a beginner. I think this is the most valuable thing about the course - I'm sure that learning alone you would hit a wall quickly and lose motivation to continue, whereas I can't wait to carry on learning. I was originally going to take another computing course, but only came across an instagram ad and was like 'oh, let's just check them out and see'. Never did I know that I'd be joining the SheCodes Basics class 2-days later, I honestly learned so much during the 3 weeks. I'm not much a fan of online classes, but Matt explains things so well it's honestly so good being a part of this. It's so fun, the challenges and the weekly assignments are so useful and so fun, I love to learn new things--so, the challenges really help motivate this whole experience. Also, the idea of having Slack and getting involved with other students' questions, and giving help is honestly just great--a lot of other online classes don't have this sort of community where students are able to help one another. I can't wait to explore the other courses in the upcoming months!

A great and fun way to learn coding for beginners.
At the beginning, the course seemed A LOT and quite difficult. But when I started the second week, the fun begun! Doing the final project really taught me to use everything I learned during these weeks.

Fabulous, fun course, really enjoyed learning the basics! Would really recommend to anyone who has an interest but isn't sure. Matt is a great teacher, his instructions are clear and the videos solutions reinforce knowledge. This course has been pedagogically designed and considered so that learners really come away with a strong foundation to build from.
The videos were excellent, the challenges allowed me to review what was learn in each module and overall had fun learning the basics.
This was my first time ever trying to code and Matt was a great instructor with straight forward and easy to follow lessons. I have tried a couple of other workshops that were months and months of lessons. I still could not wrap my head around how JS connected to HTML & CSS which made me feel defeated and simply not good enough. Now after this fun brief course I have a pretty solid understanding! I am excited to see how much more I can learn in a short time span.
This workshop was my favorite thus far. Building a portfolio was a lot of fun and will be useful when looking for jobs.

I fell in love with coding when I participated in a one-month training on digital skill acquisition organized by young catholic professionals. Even though I was an art student way back in school, the program was impactful, and I made up my mind I would pursue a career in coding, unfortunately, I didn't have the needed funds to do so, but thanks to God, I came across SheCodes foundation and applied fortunately for me, I was admitted to study Coding free of charge, its one of the best thing that happened to me and ever since then my life has changed for the better, and I want to say thank you SheCodes.
Great refresher for basic HTML, CSS, and JS. It's suitable for people who have never coded before—great explanations, homework assignments, and projects that keep you accountable throughout the course. The only reason for my 3/5 stars is because I already knew how to the content in this particular course. Skip this course, however, if you recently learned HTML, CSS, and JS and have a good grasp of the fundamentals. I suggest you proceed with the higher-level curriculum.
Would highly recommend SheCodes Basic course to anyone who are even slightly interested in knowing how to code. You can choose your own pace of studying (do have deadlines tho & it's a good thing), lessons are structured and on point, challenges are short and fun to accomplish and you can also always ask for help from team if you're stuck with something. I had a great time learning basics and really excited to learn further!

Coding is very fun and interesting. For those looking for a sign if you need to start learning how to code, THIS is your sign. For those who want to try it out as a hobby, then it's definitely worth trying out this workshop. Good luck to everyone'e coding journey (and mine as well)!
The lessons taught by Matt, were super clear and manageable. Having the slack team available for when we got stuck was so nice, and helped keep up morale and motivation toward learning more and having fun doing it. Outside of that the other SheCodes resources, such as the gradient and palette features, and shecodes radio rocked ! Most importantly, they were really understanding with timing; I needed extensions due to health concerns and power outages, and they made it really easy and stress-free to request more time. 10/10 would recommend.
I loved the basic course, I had a lot of fun doing the challenges and especially the final project and I'm very much looking forward to starting shecodes plus😊😊😊😊

This workshop has given me a general knowledge of coding, allowing me to know what's out there coding-wise. It gave me the big picture of the possibilities and limitations (if there are any!) of coding. I am delighted to be able to build a fully functional application, to have learnt technical terms and most importantly to understand the logic behind coding. Although I don't wish to become a developer myself, I am pretty sure this knowledge will come in handy in all my future professional endeavours. Regarding the workshop structure, in spite of feeling somewhat overwhelmed by some weeks' workload, I find it positive to have a weekly-basis step-to-step approach to the workshop, otherwise, it would be easy to lose rhythm and fall back on progress. Thank you very much!

Learning React was as challenging as it was fun. Step-by-step weekly lessons and challenges and 24/7 support on Slack made it a great learning experience.
SheCodes+ was a complex, yet fun and informative workshop. There were times when I struggled, but it was pretty exciting whenever I found the solutions myself. It was also extremely helpful having support whenever I needed it. Matt's lessons were easy to understand and I enjoyed being hands-on in the project. I am very excited to continue learning with SheCodes and I hope that I can transition to tech very soon!
I was so pleased with how they structured the SheCodes Basics workshop. They gave just enough info at strategic times during the sequence of lessons so that I wasn't overwhelmed with extra info until I had already understood each step of the webpage-building process. I'm really happy with how fun they made the workshop with the challenges they chose to integrate into the lessons. The Slack community was great too for when I got stuck.

I always wanted to learn coding, but never felt like I could because it looked so intimidating. I was on Instagram one day and saw an Ad for the SheCodes free Coding Class. Matt introduced coding in a way that made it look fun and cool, so I enrolled in the SheCodes Basics workshop and I cannot even believe how much I learned in just 3 weeks! I am able to help out more with basic coding at work and my supervisor is thrilled and I can't wait to grow in this skill!

Had fun weeks with SheCodes. Unfortunately I was sick for few weeks and I am super greatful that I had a chance to postpone the end date to finish up with the course.
I was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be fun and quite easy for me. I enrolled in the basic workshop but I will continue with a pro. I understood every class and all the concepts of coding. It is a creative workshop and not boring or difficult at all. Also, when I needed help I was able to ask the community and the tech support.
I was pleasantly surprised by this course. The lessons are interactive and keep you engaged. Projects are up to date with current trends and really fun to work on. Cant wait to learn more :)

This is the beginning of a journey and the end of the whole SheCodes Pro. Learning React was fun, engaging and hard at times. However, everything is possible when you have Matt encouraging you to follow growing in middle of your own struggle. Love everything I have learned so far and I plan to follow into this journey. I highly recommend any woman that is a pure beginner coding to start her path with SheCodes and the SheCodes Foundation. I'm really thankful with the Foundation for this opportunity.
Very happy with the whole program but particularly with the React module as I got to learn to be more efficient and practical. The two projects were challenging but also quite fun and I know feel more confident in my skills and capabilities. Coding with react was tricky at first but quite intuitive overall and I am looking forward to continue learning.
I can't believe that this workshop came to an end. I really enjoyed learning about React. It was different than vanilla JS so I had to deal with some new errors and it was definitely fun. I also want to thank SheCodes team for all of their helps. Looking forward for more!

I once used to see coding as something I could never venture into because it always looked so complex to understand, but learning with SheCodes has been amazing. The workshop was great, but I wish we got to learn more. The third week wasn't anything new - just a quick summary of what we learned in weeks one and two. I feel like that time could have been used better. Otherwise, the workshop was fun and Matt is a good teacher.
