I have thoroughly enjoyed doing the SheCodes Introduction to Coding Workshop, and I'm very much looking forward to starting SheCodes Plus! Matt explains things clearly, and I think the course set-up is excellent - the challenges are very helpful, the homework is useful for helping cement the new knowledge, and the final project was a fun way of testing my new skills, and starting off my coding portfolio. The Slack community is also very supportive, and it feels so good when you can help others as well. SheCodes has been awesome! The classes are broken into really easy to digest sections which make it easy to learn a bit at a time but also consolidate your learning with challenges and homework at the end of the week. It was also super beginner friendly for someone with no coding background as well - Matt does a great job of explaining everything without using too much jargon or technical language.
SheCodes is absolutely perfect as a beginner's class for someone like me, who had no knowledge of coding at all - the lessons were clear, incremental as to avoid confusion, with great practice homework leading to a final project. I had hoped that web development could be a good future for me, and this program has shown that I really enjoy doing it too!

The SheCodes introduction workshop is easy and fun to follow. The videos have great quality. It is also great that not everything is given through each lesson, and research must be done. Also, having a feedback on the homeworks is truly useful.
I really loved this workshop. If you've been thinking about coding and have maybe been scared to because it "seems too difficult" or "looks boring", I can tell that's not the case at all. SheCodes makes it so easy to learn a lot of information VERY quickly and it's also very fun to work on your own homework and project. I also loved exchanging with the online community via Slack. It was so fun to see what everyone else was doing, help them with their challenges, and to get help when you're stuck as well.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced 3 week course! Matt was super easy to understand and made concepts relatable in layman's terms. Although the homework for each week started out simple, it built up to challenging aspects which was great for learning. Would recommend this to anyone who needs accountability to learn.

SheCodes Workshops have been a challenging but rewarding experience starting from their Introduction workshop up to React. Every week provides step by step lessons, challenges and homework that are testing but easy to understand; you remain engaged and practicing week to week. There is definitely more to learn and more practice needed coming out of these workshops, but they are a great starting point to continue your growth in coding. It definitely has been worth the time and investment.
Matt Delac's SheCodes program has been an amazing tool to help me learn the basics of CSS & JS, along with a refresher of basic HTML. His step by step instructions are easy to follow, and the challenges alongside each self-paced lesson & the weekly homework are incredibly helpful in reinforcing what you learned each week. I definitely felt a sense of accomplishment and joy after my final project! I highly recommend this beginner course series for anyone who is curious about the world of coding.
Bite-sized information through videos which were really easy and clear to understand. Love that we had small challenges to complete after each lesson and that helped to reinforce the learning in me. Being able to clear the lessons and homework in my own time within the week instead of in a particular day was also helpful as I could learn at my own pace, which would have otherwise dampened my motivation. :)
I highly recommend SheCodes workshops! I've been wanting to learn how to code for years, but had trouble finding the time. I was able to complete this workshop during weekends, and the material is challenging but Matt is able to breakdown complicated topics for beginners to understand. When I was feeling pretty stuck on a couple of homework problems, SheCodes staff was quick to respond and assisted me over Slack. Now that I've completed SheCodes Plus and React, I feel more confident, knowledgeable, and look forward to learning more!

SheCodes is the best! I began as a novice with the intro to coding class and quickly fell in love with coding through Matt's easy-to-follow videos and Joao's helpful support on challenges and homework. After graduating from the intro workshop, I immediately enrolled in SheCodes Plus and then SheCodes React. Improving my coding literacy and building the weather app project from scratch has been such an empowering experience. If the SheCodes team ever offers courses on any other coding languages, I will be first in line to sign up!
Really loved this workshop! Matt's videos were simple and concise and very informative without giving that feeling of being overwhelmed. The workshop itself was a reasonable price. There were certain "challenges" that were definitely challenges and google becomes your friend, personally I would do a quick google search and MDN offers a solution but rarely a well explain explanation, here comes SLACK. It was a great place for all of us to bounce our ideas off one another and ask for help for challenges, homework, and the project. Very helpful! There's a sense of pride whenever you complete a challenge or homework and I love that. Coding is also very impressive to those who aren't at all into the world of coding, so to show someone your entire code they're completely floored by it all haha! Would recommend this course to anyone interested in coding.
SheCodes is a school with good pedagogy, the courses are well structured and explained. There is a lot of practice such as homework and projects. There are good communication and atmosphere between teachers and classmates. I recommend this coding school if you want to learn well how to code or if you want to deepen your knowledge.
This workshop has taught me so much about coding that I did not know before. It was very easy to make time throughout the week to complete the lessons and homework. It was something I very much would look forward to doing as well. My background is in Psychology, project management and psychometric tests and I've always been interested in technology, especially with everything going digital in our current climate. I thought I'd give SheCodes a go, as I've tried other free courses on other sites but it wasn't as interactive and I couldn't get help when I needed. With SheCodes, everything is at your own pace as the videos are bite-sized and you can go back if you need to. However, the homework keeps you accountable. I enjoyed doing the challenges as I prefer learning by doing. The staff and fellow students are really friendly and helpful if you are stuck. Coding might seem scary at first, but it really isn't! If you've been thinking about learning to code, go for this course, it's a great way to learn and build your skillset!

This was my first ever attempt at coding, and I loved it! All of the lessons were easy to follow and the challenges & homework were just hard enough to where Google and the Slack community came in handy. It definitely took going back and forth from old challenges to remember some of the syntax but I can confidently say I am completing this course knowing substantially more than I did coming in. 10/10 recommend 👏
What sets this course apart from others is the assignments and homework, which gives me a lot of great practice as someone with no experience creating a website. The course is great for beginners like me since it lets people be creative and have fun while learning!
SheCodes was very hands on. In the challenges and homework, the lesson videos gave enough insight to complete most of what was required but it also pushed me to find some solutions on my own either in the slack community or through google.
The various challenges and homework assignments were set up in a good sequence. I found the videos very helpful to learn from. Overall, I feel like the intro course covered a lot in three weeks and did it without being overwhelming!

You never feel alone because you have assistance on Slack and if you have any doubts someone will be there to help you. Matt explains in a simply way so you can understand. I am a finance student but for all these years, I was trying to figure out what I really like and enjoy doing. I started looking up things online that how I find about coding, I try many training online and then I find "She-codes" I found Shecodes very helpful, the training was good I get to learn from someone who have a great experience, every week I have a project, challenge or homework to work on. The challenge give me the opportunity to practice and learn things and put in my skills at work and learn at my own . At the end of the program, I was given a final project, where I have express my skills and create a website , it was a great opportunity to put in what I have learn.
Came across a free intro webinar for SheCodes through Instagram and took the leap with the Workshop. The 3-week course flew by. Videos were easy to follow with step-by-step tutorial explanation on how HTML, CSS, and Javascript work together. The homework at the end of the week is super helpful in helping me understand what I learned. SheCodes also provides a Slack community for you to chat with other students who are taking the course with you. In there, you can ask for real-time help and troubleshoot your code with colleagues. Would highly recommend this course to anyone who has no background in coding who is looking to build a solid foundation.

Not having coding experience. I was nervous to venture into the Shecodes course. I was instantly put at ease though. Matt really breaks up basic coding going step by step. Anytime i ever had a question or needed help on the homework I got instant reply's. I've honestly had a blast learning another skill set and cant wait to continue with Shecodes Plus.
I had tried to learn coding from books and youtube videos and it simply didn't work. The videos and challenges make it easy to understand the concepts while testing your knowledge. The homework and final project were exciting as well. The support from instructors and other women in the class made the learning experience that much more encouraging and enjoyable.

Lessons are taught so well! You are provided with most of the knowledge needed to complete the assignments but, not all. You are forced to use Google to search for the missing requirements to complete the homework, which really teaches you how to find the info you need, like you will be doing in real life. Really enjoyed the workshop, I will definitely be continuing with more lessons.

The Shecodes workshop was a great introduction to web dev. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get their feet wet in it. The best coding workshop ever! Prior to Shecodes, I never really got to code. I was only familar with some languages through youtube but would forget them easily because I didn't have anything to practice with. But Shecodes changed that! With a weekly homework and many practices, I've had enough practice and felt like I was actually learning. Besides, Matt is a great instructor and his lessons are very engaging. 10/10 I would take this course again!

This is a great first step in understanding how to code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript using VS Code. While working, I found this model of teaching to be perfect for me as I could fit the lessons and homework around my schedule. There is a range of easy to complicated prompts, which help you build ideas one step at a time. Matt also shows you valuable tricks on how to use the internet to answer your questions as well as offer insights into how current coders work, which strengthened my confidence. You won't regret it.
SheCodes Plus is a great extension to the SheCodes Workshop. I have advanced my skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript. I loved how every week the lessons would build off each other. It is cool to see your homework from each week develop to your final project. This course has given me much more confidence. My coding skills have greatly increased and I am much more knowledgeable. I am looking forward to the next workshop and going out into the real world to put my new found skills to work.
Matt provides easy to follow, step-by-step video lessons on learning code, always paired with written code and other resources to supplement the videos. I found the homework to be an extra challenge beyond the lesson content! Which is exactly what I want out of this course--to be challenged to use the newly learned material independently. Help is always available, of course--I personally found the slack community to be VERY helpful when I got caught on homework. Plus, there are solution videos after every lesson and homework assignment. All in all, I feel like my understanding of code has grown substantially after taking this course. SheCodes is great for anyone looking to transition into a development career or is looking to have a better understanding of how software, applications, and websites are built. I'm a UX/UI Designer and found it particularly beneficial for several reasons... 1. My designs are now easier to translate into code, so I've reframed my relationship with Developers, in turn creating a better and less expensive product for clients 2. I have a strong understanding of the feasibility of technical design requirements 3. Lastly, I feel well versed and comfortable enough with coding to voice my thoughts, ideas, and concerns about the development of their product/service in brainstorming and sales sessions. Next, I'm looking forward to taking React with SheCodes! For any designers out there... I have been curious about coding having seen my husband and sister code but I never thought it was for me as it seemed tricky and confusing. I started the course not feeling too confident that I could complete it but after every class and homework my confidence grew and I have enjoyed every part of it! It also made me understand what front-end development is about from this experience and this has been really helpful. If you're not sure this is for you and are worried about how this is taught, you don't need to worry as SheCodes has made it so easy to understand and if you get stuck you can ask questions on Slack so you're not really alone in this. I have really enjoyed Introduction to Coding and am sad that this is over so soon! I'm seriously considering SheCodes Plus!
I've always considered myself to be very tech un-savvy. Computers, software, you name it, made me frustrated and confused. SheCodes has genuinely changed that! The step-by-step approach along with the supportive Slack community, regular exercises, and the homework kept me engaged and eager to learn. Coding is a combination of learning a new language crossed with a scavenger hunt. It was an absolute thrill to create my own little web page after only two weeks of online classes. I really enjoy all the lessons and the homework. All lessons are easy to follow, Matt explains each lessons clearly. I like the the tips and tricks the most. This 3 weeks workshop is a good start for people who want to learn how to code as FrontEnd Dev. I would recommended this to people.
On the same day I finished the SheCodes Workshop I just knew that my journey was just beggining. I joined the SheCodesPlus and I did take the code to the next step! Along these 8 weeks I saw my progress day by day, feeling even more comfortable with HTLM, CSS and JavaScript after each class, challenge and homework. I am very thankfull to SheCodes for showing me this new world that became my new passion. And I am pretty sure that I am not done yet!
I really enjoyed the structure of the workshop. Each lesson is the perfect length of time, with just the right amount of information. I really appreciated the homework after each lesson, which helped me understand the concepts and practice the new skills. The weekly projects were a bonus to tie together everything I learned throughout the week. I highly recommend this workshop for anyone who is curious in learning more about coding!
I really enjoyed the three week program. The videos were easy to learn followed with some challenges and homework that was really beneficial to me. I really recommend this for everyone out there. 😊
This was a great course - I can't remember the last time I felt so excited about learning something new! It was well organised, which enabled me to work through the weekly lessons and homework at a comfortable pace alongside my full time job. I have a sense of achievement at the end of the three weeks within the level I'm at. I would - and already have - recommended the course to others. I learnt a lot and really enjoyed it!
Overall the help sheets and video explanations are very clear from Matt, learned a new world and found it interesting for sure. However, I do not like the platform Slack. I've had help today but I didn't even notice the answer until hours later, and the answer did not help me find a solution regardless. Slack is definitely not a simple platform to follow, it's confusing and overloaded with unnecessary messages from too many users. I submitted my final project, but I am not happy with a lot of things and even with google I could not find the solutions. I followed Matts advice and instructions but a lot of things were not working, even when writing multiple of times, refreshing pages, and writing them carefully while checking my notes. I didn't have so many problems with my last homework submission so I don't understand why this one was so hard to complete.
SheCodes was a great introduction to coding. The lessons were engaging and easy to follow, but I still felt like a learnt a lot while doing them. The exercises, homework, and project kept me accountable and were a great way to prove to myself that the material was sinking in. I loved it!
I was curious to find out how an online class with flexible learning hours would actually make me learn coding properly. The learning material is easy to understand and the Slack community a great place to ask for support. The homework and project deadlines help a lot to keep myself accountable. I'm excited to continue the journey and learn more advanced coding skills!
