I am a very creative and curious person but also love things that require problem-solving and cognitive stimulation. When I found Shecodes, I didn't know what to expect. I wanted to try out coding and see what it would be like to create my own landing page from scratch, but I felt like I was diving into the 'deep-end' with no prior knowledge or experience. I thought I would have to be super intelligent and love maths/science to code. I was so wrong! Shecodes showed me how taking the risk was worth it. I fell in love with coding during the 3 weeks of trying it out! Matt and everyone at Shecodes provide a welcoming and supportive space for beginners and people of all skill levels to dive into coding. Matt's engaging and easy-to-follow video lessons, as well as the creative and fun challenges/homework provided, have meant that I have gained so much confidence over the 3-week course in a field that I thought I wouldn't thrive. SheCodes is an amazing platform for all women to become curious and be creative through interactive coding workshops! I am intrigued by technology, coding and digital development but also have a passion for gender equality, and so I love the ethos of Shecodes at what they are doing for women worldwide; from opening up potential career paths to women in a sector where female representation is sparse, to even providing people with a starting point to develop and flourish within a new hobby/ interest. I am now going to continue coding and maybe look into careers in the Tech industry. I'd highly recommend giving coding a shot, especially through a Shecodes workshop!
Wow! I am very impressed with myself and the progress so far. Just take a look at my project and you will see how much I have improved in just a couple of weeks. The regular hands-on homework makes learning very fast and even though SheCode is an online workshop, the learning structure is very good. I am so impressed. SheCodes is definitely a must have workshop for every lady looking to transition into tech. Cant wait to continue, my learning. I am loving this everyday.

Learning the basics of coding has been as intense as challenging but at the same time really enjoyable and in a way, easy. The videos are really efficient and Matthieu's explainations cannot be clearer. I could not complete the week 1 homework and challenges in due time but it was easy to request an extension, and the team was very understanding. I found the course very flexible, fun and interesting. I feel like I really understand how HTML, CSS and Javascript work, and feel more confident for the future. I was starting a UX design course at the same time, and was hoping to learn about the basics of coding since employers often like potential UX designers to be able to communicate and understand developers. I feel so much more confident now with the basic but yet thorought and solid knowledge SheCodes gave me!
Biggest project yet! compared to the previous homework, this one is a bit challenging but absolutely rewarding. I learned to integrate a lot of third-party sites to complete the project.

Excellent course, would highly recommend to everyone who would like to start coding! Each week, there are a number of tutorials which you can watch when convenient and you can apply what you learned in the homework assignment. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and the homework is exactly the right level of challenging.
Joining SheCodes was the best thing I could ever do for myself. I've learned a lot of new things in a short period of time and the weekly homework helps you in practicing my skills. I'm looking forward to learning more things in the SheCodes Plus program and later getting a remote job which has been my dream so that I can work from anywhere.

I recently completed the SheCodes Basics course and I can't recommend it enough to other women who are interested in coding. The format of learning is engaging and the pace is just right. The homework assignments are thoughtfully designed to reinforce what we learned in class and encourage us to explore and figure things out on our own. The SheCodes team is also incredibly supportive and responsive on Slack, which really helps when you're stuck on a problem. Overall, I'm really happy with what I learned in this course and I'm excited to continue my coding journey with SheCodes!
I absolutely loved this course! Matt Delac's teaching style was engaging and refreshing. He uses easy-to-understand and relatable examples to explain some complicated concepts, especially in Javascript. I like how the course was structured, too. With practical exercises that I can complete independently. But also, having a deadline for each homework was helpful in preventing me from procrastinating.

The basics course seems to have been well structured into bite-sized, easy to understand and remember videos and challenges. I liked having the chance to summarize at the end of each week in the form of homework. I would say the course is busy-life friendly. I was relieved to have the chance to apply for extensions when life happened. Overall, I had a lot of fun finishing this course especially, the final project.

I especially enjoyed the challenge at the end of each video and the homework at the end of each week. This has been an amazing experience.
The videos being outdated made the final stages of connecting with the API more complex than it needed to be. I also feel like Week 4's homework solution could have been much better explained. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this course and appreciated the assistance on Slack - thank you kindly for that!

SheCodes Basics is a great course to do if you are wondering if you would be interested in a tech career or even if you just want to gain some new and valuable skills. The format is really well done and engaging - it's great to have regular exercises and homework to keep up with what you are learning. Definitely worth the investment!
It hasnt even been two weeks since I joined SheCodes and the amount of confidence I feel knowing that I can do this! The slack community is genuine and it feels like we in it together and winning. Matt is great at teaching, I have no prior experience but I have learned so much and because you get challenges and homework you not spoon fed anything. Honestly enjoying.

I love how Matt teaches by first showing how to do one or two simple steps and immediately afterwards, the student can practice. The homework requirements were great to keep me on track and apply everything I learned that week to test whether I truly did understand what was being taught. I highly recommend this workshop!
I must say i really enjoyed the Shecodes basic class as a beginner with no idea of what coding is actually all about. The challenges and homework made it much easier for me to understand the 'learn videos' and most importantly the opportunity of learning at my own convience and pace made it much more easier for me as a beginner. SheCodes Basic was an excellent experience for me. The instruction videos were clear and easy to follow, and the challenges after each lesson were helpful in building up coding skills by focusing on specific components (such as if/else statements or classes). The homework assignments and final project pulled together all of the skills developed in the challenges without being overwhelming. I look forward to starting the next workshop!

SheCodes makes learning really fun with a great balance of theory, practicals and code-a-long videos. I've found that the structure of the lessons has helped me to pick up concepts quickly and you do feel you have achieved something each week with the homework tasks. I was able to grasp some of the fundamentals of web front-end development with the resources provided in the basics workshop. The pace for learning the materials and doing the homework and challenges was also set well especially for beginners. The content was fitting to get me interested but not overwhelming for me to find it difficult to learn.

Such a great little course. Help is always available when you need it through Slack (but Google is truly your best friend). The steps to complete the workshop are explained efficiently and are easy to understand. You can complete the learning challenges in your own time, as long as you stick to the weekly homework deadlines, and even then, there is the opportunity to request an extension if you think you'll need it. I would recommend this for anyone looking to get into coding like I was, and especially if you're looking to update your skills. There's always something new to learn! Coding is definitely the way forward!

I had a chance to attend free coding classes from SheCodes during the hiatus of my university and I completed my SheCodes basics workshop this week. Throughout the courses, I became more and more confident in my coding skill because I got a lot of practical knowledge by doing challenges and homework after every week although I did not know anything about coding before the course. So, I am looking forward to trying more exciting challenges with SheCodes.
Lessons from this workshop are easy to understand. You can get extension for your homework deadline, so you won't be stressed. Highly recommend this workshop! BTW, for my final project, I am an ARMY, so I wanted to do my first website about BTS. I used the the color of BTS "Love Yourself :Answer" album as background color of my website. I tried my best for this final project.

I recently attended the "Shecodes Basics" course. I must say it was a truly educational experience and useful content. Through hands-on exercises (homeworks and projects), I learned better the strategies I could apply. I highly recommend the "Shecodes" courses to anyone looking to grow and learn skills. I finished the course feeling motivated and equipped with more tools. Thank you to the organizers, especially Matt, for such an incredible experience that provided me with knowledge of using HTML/Javascript/CSS in coding.
This was a pretty solid course for getting an overall view about making a website. On top of the comprehensive overview of the three coding languages involved, I also felt like I got a better sense of how the workflow might run for projects like our homework assignments or challenges. While I might still need references to a guide for some details, I've gained an enthusiasm to learning how to code for myself, which is something I don't think would have come easily for me otherwise. The course also made me have a greater appreciation for people who create visually-appealing websites, because having an ability to code doesn't automatically equate to having a good design sense needed for those pages.
I love the way the course was built. Not only you get code snippets and demos, there are also videos with Matt explaining on every topic. The course is really engaging, you get a lot of practise due to the homeworks. By the way, SheCodes is the only platform I saw that actually has people to review your homework and help with any questions in Slack. Such a great educational source and helpful community!

You can learn at your own pace and complete the lessons at any convenient time during the week. The Practical exercises help you to gain confidence and experience in coding and you will make sure you have learned the current lesson before going to the next. I really liked the form of the course, handing in homework is really engaging and does not allow me to stop learning for a long time. Everything easily explained. It encouraged me to continue learning Java Script and this is the direction I will follow.

The course was to a certain extent useful and I learned something new. A lot of technologies were covered, videos were short but informative that allowed me not to lose concentration. Also I liked the idea with the cheat sheets available on the web site. At the same time, I’d like to mention the following drawbacks: - there is a gap between the course program and the course content itself, which led me to hope for more than was actually given. For instance, ‘SheCodes Plus’ program mentions ‘Advanced Javascript’, while in practice we only scratched the surface. - I had a feeling that some information was repeated again and again instead of new topics being covered. - homework feedback provided was hardly useful: “Your solution is valid! Good job” is not an informative one. I would rather want to hear more on practices I used and my code style. - given all of the above, I believe the course is a bit overpriced
I'm beyond thrilled with Matt and the entire SheCodes Team! Due to the Slack Community I never felt alone and I'm impressed with the amount of support I had at my fingertips! The small homework assignments kept me engaged and looking forward to learning more. 10/10 would recommend this course for any woman trying to learn Web Development skills.
In less than 3 weeks I managed to transition from a total beginner to being able to create a landing page from scratch. I really loved my time studying with SheCodes. The homework portions of each module were really enjoyable, getting the feedback email each week when you had successfully completed the task was very motivating and even if we were to fail getting feedback about what we could improve or have done differently is refreshing.

This course was definitely more difficult and challenging then the Basic one but more fun at the same time. There were few challenges and homeworks that I had difficulties with but overall it was a great experience. The Slack channel also helped a lot, to find inspiration or help. I am extremely happy and satisfied, cannot wait to start the next course :)
This is a very effective way to learn how to code, the lessons are captivating and the compulsory homework is helpful to practice. I feel the content is well paced and the teacher is very insightful, it is obvious he is mature in his craft! Thank you for this opportunity!
I just finished the SheCodes Plus workshop and it was such a great experience. I learned so much from this course and I really love the way the lessons are laid out. They are clear and easy to follow and there is always support when you need it. I also love that there are weekly homework deadlines to try and meet, in order to help keep you accountable, but there is also a lot of flexibility if you need it (which, as a mom of a toddler, is essential!). The flexibility to be able to ask for extensions when you need them, to me, shows that SheCodes really takes into consideration the different lifestyles/schedules that each individual has. Before SheCodes, I had absolutely no knowledge of coding, but as soon I joined I felt very welcomed and instantly became a part of this community of amazing women around the world with shared dreams and ambitions of learning to code. Being a part of this supportive community, especially for a complete beginner like me, has given me a lot of confidence and inspiration to continue my coding journey.

I signed up to SheCodes with zero coding knowledge and now I enjoy coding so much! The lessons were detailed and structured, I am sure you won't get lost in it, and I could replay the instruction videos at anytime. The challenges and homeworks are also helpful, they are a tool to get a better understanding of the materials. A tip: don't skip watching the instruction videos, and look on the bottom page of each lessons - some great and valuable tips are often there.
I really liked the program. I think it is well-structured, and goes from zero to more advanced content, connecting topics to understand better the goal of each one, and as a whole. Not only that, but I had fun doing the homework and the final project.
I really liked this course! Matt explains everything in a very easy and understandable way, no questions asked. The interactive on the site was pleasant, which made me want to come back and do my homework again and listen to new lectures. Thanks for your hard work!
