It has been so much fun learning the basics of web development and it really made me want to challenge myself by learning more of it! Matt can explain things in a very clear way, and having the challenges and homework really helped keeping me accountable for it.
I started SheCodes because I want a career in tech. I've tried other courses but I like the accountability of submitting homework. Matt's videos were easy to follow and I thoroughly enjoyed the course.

SheCodes and Matt offer excellent tutorials on how to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript, for beginners (like me) who have never coded or used coding languages before. This workshop is a perfect way to get started with coding. It is very well structured and understandable. I am really enjoying She Codes. It’s very interesting and exciting. Love the content, the way the curriculum is planned explained very well and the way the lessons are delivered. Homework is a big part of SheCodes workshops, some piece of homework can be very challenging but enjoyable at the same time.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking the self-paced Basics class at SheCodes. Matt is an awesome instructor and while classes are pre-recorded, I felt as if they were live because Matt was engaging, entertaining, and really broke down concepts to make them understandable. I loved having the lessons and homework as a I learn by doing. I also had a ton of support with the SheCodes Slack community and was able to ask for help when needed or check the threads for tips and guidance on assignments.
I really enjoyed this course and would highly recommend it to any woman who is interested in taking her first steps in coding. Matt's instruction videos are easy to follow and I liked the hands-on approach. Another plus is the amazing support team that offers quick solutions in case you get stuck with any homework or challenge. Overall, I am pretty amazed at how much I was able to learn in such a short amount of time.
I have had so much fun doing this course! I procrastinated a lot before starting my homework every week but once I started, I was not able to stop obsessing over all the different things I can do with what Matt taught during the course. I am really glad I signed up to the course and can't wait to learn more so I am able to creatively express myself. Matt has made this a really fun and immersive learning experience.

Unlike other online courses, this is actually impossible do drop. The frequent deadlines, challenges and homework do not let you procrastinate and slack off, but the workload is well balanced and the learning program coherent and easy to follow. It's like being in an actual school but with the comfort of your own home and time!
I would highly recommend She Codes to anyone whether or not you are a beginner in coding or have some experience. Although I had experience in Java and Python, I decided to enroll in She Codes because I'm always looking to improve my coding skills and also wanted to gain skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Matt is also a great instructor and his teaching skills are very great making the course super easy to follow. The She Codes team was always available for help with homework if needed as well. Overall, I would highly recommend She Codes!
SheCodes was a very good introduction to coding for me. I found the material was presented in an easy-to-understand way and did a great job of piquing my curiosity to learn more about coding! I like that the homework assignments reinforce what I learned and that the final project brought everything together.
Prior to starting SheCodes, I had no coding experience nor knew if it was something I'd enjoy, but Matt's videos are fun and super easy to follow. The challenges in between lessons are a perfect test of what was just learned. Even if I didn't grasp a concept initially, I could always go back and watch the lessons; even from previous modules. What I really enjoyed is I could watch the videos and do my homework from anywhere in the world, on my own time. I am also grateful for the amazing SheCodes team who were quick, kind and patient when answering questions. Thanks!!

I appreciate how SheCodes doesn't underestimate the participants. In most coding courses I've followed, you have to 'copy the instructor', but here you get a challenge where you have to apply what you've learnt in a different scenario than the explanation video. I've had a lot of fun with the homework; and that's a first! The freedom you get in your solutions is great, since you don't have to deliver an exact match. If you have a solution that's slightly different than the suggested one, that's no problem at all!
Highly enjoyable I would seriously recommend this course to anyone wanting to try something new. Workload is not too much or too little and the weekly homework can easily be completed around a work schedule.
Going through this workshop was not an easy task on top of other commitments. However, the team at SheCodes as well as all of the women in the Slack community have been a tremendous help. I am happy that I decided to take this workshop, every week was challenging but it was satisfying to see how in the end it all came together. The instructional videos were very useful as I keep referring back to them and having access to the slack community helped me keep pushing forward whenever I was getting stuck on a homework problem. Just completed my SheCodes Responsive. It was indeed very challenging and I love how it made me to find the solutions and get the codes work. With the daily challenges, weekly homework, and projects I practiced more on what I have learned and strive myself to provide a creative and responsive project. Easy to understand and made me want to do the homework.
This is the second time I've tried coding! This time round it's all made much more sense and I've had much more success as a result. I've really enjoyed learning and expanding my knowledge and found the tutorials really clear and easy to understand! Loved having weekly homework to keep me motivated throughout the whole course.

After having been interested in coding for ages, I finally decided to give it a try. This workshop was the perfect start for a beginner like me. I enjoyed the mixture of video input and practical exercises. Connecting with other coders on Slack was a big plus and homework was reviewed very swiftly!

The educational videos were easy to follow and with a good number of homework exercises to guarantee that we would put into practice everything that we were learning. I just loved the flow of the course. It was organized in a way that made sense. However, I do have one criticism. In our homework and final project assignments, we were asked to do things that were not covered in the lectures at all. I appreciate being able to look things up on our own to make something work, but I wish that expectation had been set at the beginning of the course so it wasn't such a surprise.
I am so excited to be one of SheCodes coders, with the daily challenges, weekly homework, and projects I can practice more on what I learned, as we know practice makes perfect. Looking forward to becoming an expert as a frontend developer.
SheCodes is the first web development course I decided to take because I always wanted to learn how to build my own website. I really loved how the course was structured and how it motivated me to submit a homework every week and how it connected me with so many women, like me, learning how to code. Moreover, I loved Matt's way of explaining the course materials and I appreciated how he took his time to dissect difficult concepts. I truly enjoyed taking this course and I would definitely recommend it to every women wanting to learn more about web development and computer languages in general. We do need more women in STEM and SheCodes is helping us just do that :)

It was my second course after SheCodes Basic. Generally, I like it. Matt's video are rather simple and clear. If you have problems with homework (students have them always 😅) you can always to get help from tech.assistants in Slack. Thanks to all SheCodes team! I like coding more and more, course by course 😀. I will continue to learn how to code definitely. It's fascinating 😋

I am a working full time and a mom of a 1 year old girl, but learning this basic course was so fun that I am always looking forward to do my homeworks and the activities. I didn't imagine that coding is fun and exciting.
SheCodes has blown all of my expectations out of the water! As someone who has never coded a day in her life, I found the lessons to be straightforward and easy to follow along. The challenges and homework really helped me to cement my knowledge and to build upon each new concept. I've taken lots of online classes before but SheCodes is easily one of the best! Unlike other courses where I inevitably lost interest, the weekly deadlines kept me accountable. The challenges accompanying the lessons also made sure I was actively learning, rather than just passively watching the video and moving onto the next. I'm so excited by everything I've learnt so far (I think it might be the first time in 31 years I've actually been excited to complete my homework?!) and can't wait to keep studying with SheCodes.

I like that I can work at my own pace, but there are homework/project deadlines for accountability, but can be extended if needed. Matt does a great job explaining his videos as he goes along. The support has been great with the sheCodes when you get stuck. I also like that after you submit your homework and projects there is a solution video to help you correct any mistakes or improve your work.
Lessons in SheCodes are straight forward and easy to follow. Activities and homework will allow you apply what you learn in the previous lessons. The SheCodes' staff and slack community is very supportive and helpful.

It's been a great workshop! I came with zero coding experience (and I mean z-e-r-o) and I had a lot of fun while learning! The lessons are very informative, some concepts were easier, some were harder, but all the instructions were clear. It's great to be able to do check my understanding by completing challenges and homework. Having taught myself, I can appreciate the logic of the course, the flow and steps of the course made sense and made the whole experience quite fun.

Joining SheCodes has been one of the best opportunities I have had. In just three weeks of the Basics workshop, I have learnt so much about HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I enjoyed the course a lot. The course doesn't require any previous programming experience and is suitable for absolute beginners who would like to try programming but don't know where to start. In the beginning, I just wanted to support the team for giving Ukrainian women an opportunity to learn web development during these harsh times. And in the end, I actually had a lot of fun doing all the homework, watching the videos, and learning. I have already recommended this course to a friend of mine.
I'm excited about the course! Information is easy to understand and absorb, homework right after each lesson allows you to memorize study material at one stroke. However, if you want to expand your skills faster, then you need additionally explore a lot.
