Video lectures made by our instructor, Matt Delac were very understandable and having challenges and project at the end of the workshop are really effective to revision what I've learnt throughout this workshop

I have a bit of background in coding but I learned more here in SheCodes than when I was doing this professionally. The lessons are very well paced and the explanations are not lengthy - the Instructor, Matt, goes straight to the point, which I really appreciate. He also does it in a way that's easily understandable. I also like how the exercises are not super serious where it can get intimidating. Rather, it's fun and there's a whole community out there that's willing to help you if you're stuck.

My SheCodes journey was very constructive. I started from scratch, and in 9 months I have learned how to code. It is very fulfilling when you see your own work come to life. Just completed the She Codes Basic-add on course (Intro to Web Development) . The course content was interesting and challenging, but presented in a way that was easy to follow. I like the practical approach to learning coding, which allowed me to apply what I learned immediately. There's a project that we had to create at the end, and Matt, the instructor, was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the project, and I felt that I was able to learn a lot through this experience. I also like the fact that everyone's project is unique and different, despite us all learning the same thing. I can't wait to continue my coding journey with She Codes!

I recently finished the workshop where I learned how to develop a Dictionary app using React and 2 different APIs. While I found React to be challenging at first, with practice and persistence, I was able to create a functional app. We learned how to integrate 2 APIs (one for word definitions and another for photographs) into the app and how to display the results in a user-friendly way. One thing I appreciated about the workshop was that the instructor provided us with all the code we needed to follow along, but also encouraged us to customize the app and make it our own. Overall, the workshop was informative, and challenging, providing valuable hands-on experience.
This is my fourth SheCodes workshop, and my learning curve has been incredibly steep. I started out with zero knowledge, and SheCodes has given me tons of knowledge and more confidence. SheCodes has given me the confidence to play with code and explore existing libraries and frameworks. The React workshop was terrific; it tied together everything I've learned and pushed me to challenge myself. The instructor is incredibly resourceful and talented and explains things in a simple-to-understand and unique way. The Slack team is ready to answer any question 24/7, and there is a massive community of women with the same goals and ambitions. I cannot recommend these workshops enough!

My first 3 weeks with SheCodes has been quite the ride, I was very new to the world of coding with very little experience and there was a lot of information that I had learn and it was overwhelming, but I feel as though there is room for me to get better at this craft as long as I push myself harder. It was a great experience to start learning coding with this course! If you're new in this field, like me, be sure that you have a step-by-step guide through basic HTML, CSS, and JS in an amazing community of instructors, mentors and students. Also, you are going to do lots of fun challenges, homework, and projects, which makes it very practical.
Taking this add-on after venturing into React for the first time in the React workshop was great additional practice for me. This mini workshop helped me cement React concepts (how components work and how they connect/how to troubleshoot) and made me more comfortable with applying this to my own projects. Seeing the instructor work out bugs on the tutorials (the thinking process and steps he takes) helped me with doing my own debugging. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the workshop SheCodes has to offer.

My interest in coding began in late 2022, whilst I was in my third year of University. I realised that I had little passion for my major and wanted to find something new that would spark passion within me. I had thought about going back to university after I graduated to study an MBA or something in finance. But, 2022 was a year of exploration and self discovery for me, I had met a lot of friends within the tech industry, who suggested I look into coding and that coding was a great field for women. So, I did just that. I began my research and saw an overwhelming amount of different positions within the tech industry. Immediately, I was drawn to the idea of cybersecurity and began to do a course on that on freeCodeCamp but it was overwhelmingly difficult and frustrating. I gave up as quickly as I had began. Then, I return after I had written my final year exams and went back to my research, I looked for advice from the large online coding community and everyone had advised to start with web development, as it was the foundation of understanding coding and breaking into the industry. So, I started again, watching Youtube videos, following along with them as they began to code, and at first, it was overwhelming but it made a lot more sense this time since I was taking baby steps. I spent a month being self taught, assimilating the different markup languages, wanting to perfect them before I added Javascript to my roster. I went on Tiktok and found my community in 'Black women in Tech-tok', that's when I came across SheCodes for the first time. I always knew I was a learner that needed a roadmap with structure, so I knew I would thrive in an online school or course, so I knew SheCodes would be for me. I had a stable enough understanding of HTML and CSS and SheCodes helped me begin to understand the ropes of Javascript and I'm excited to learn more, know more and grow with SheCodes. This is only the beginning of my journey with our amazing instructor Matt and the SheCodes team.

Matt is an outstanding instructor! He's very objective and clear in his explanation, the classes are divided in a way that makes the learning super fluid and fun! Despite having a solid foundation in HTML and CSS, I previously struggled with understanding JavaScript. However, Matt's classes, along with the engaging challenges that accompany a lot of classes, have turned JavaScript a lot easier for me.
I really enjoyed this basic workshop and finished it within a week. I have previous experience in HTML and CSS and I can definitely tell our instructor, Matt explained everything very well. This course was amazing! As an introduction into the world of tech , this was the perfect pace for me . The instructor Matt delivers the information in a way that simple and easy to understand. Being able to go back and watch a lesson was a huge comfort as well as being able to reach out for help through slack . Hello everyone, I'm just a regular retail associate who just wants to do more. I do have a bachelor's degree in fine arts, but I don't really have anything to show for it, since I don't have a career in that field. So to feel not so "stuck" I decided to learn coding. I took the basic course 1) to see if I could actually do it and 2) to see if I would actually like it. The SheCodes basic course taught me I could do it, and I do actually kind of like it. The courses do have their challenges sometimes but you can easily get the help you need and Matt, the instructor, breaks everything down really nicely. I never thought online- learning could be for me but after taking this course I don't find it that bad. In my opinion, you can't go wrong in taking the basic course, it gives you an idea of what an actual career in tech could be and for little cost.
I would definitely recommend SheCodes to friends and family. I have tried out other BootCamp and this has been the best one. Matt was an incredible instructor and explained everything well. It was easy and fun to follow.

I recently finished the React workshop and was impressed with the knowledge and teaching style of the instructor, Matt. One of the highlights of the workshop: building a weather app. On the surface, the app may have looked simple, but it was a great demonstration of the power of React. Despite its basic appearance, there was a lot of work that went into building this app, and I learned so much about the React framework in the process. The workshop was structured in such a way that we gradually built up the app, starting with the basics and adding more and more functionality. This made it easy for me to understand how React works and how to use it effectively.

This course is excellent! Going into it, I didn't know anything about coding, but the instructor was very clear and gave excellent instruction. I learned a lot!
I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to get an introduction into HTML, CSS, and JAVASCRIPT. Great course to find out if you are interested to learn more and dive into the whole front-end development. The course is easy to understand and suitable for anybody without any background in coding. The things I loved about this course were being able to set my own pace to learn, and having an excellent instructor who explained everything very clear. Thank you Matt!

Best beginners workshop ever! I truly enjoyed every minute of this journey, and even though I did come across some challenges, the manner in which this workshop is structured made overcoming those challenges very easy. Matt is a really great instructor, & the support from the SheCodes team was also very helpful. This workshop provided me with the most informative & comprehensible introduction to HTML, CSS & JavaScript, I loved working on the homework/challenges and building my first project from scratch. I look forward to enrolling in the SheCodes plus workshop next.

My husband is a web developer and has always encouraged me to learn how to code. I wasn't sure if I would like it so was looking for an introductory course that I could fit around working and being a mom of two young kids. I liked how I could do the lessons from home at times that suited me. The home work deadlines kept me accountable and encouraged me to stick to my learning schedule. Matt is a great instructor and my favourite part of the course was the challenges.
