The SheCodes Basics Workshop is an excellent introduction to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Prior to this course, I felt like gaining a foundational coding knowledge was pretty far-fetched. Very easy to understand and follow along! I have a limited background in programming but with Matt's help, was able to learn the basics of web design. He's a great instructor and besides his videos, he also offers resources for you to use on your own projects. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to get started in web design but has no idea where to start. All the students have access to a Slack as well where we can ask questions and receive help from the SheCodes staff or even each other. Learning something new doesn't feel so intimidating knowing that other students might be running into the same problems as you are. I just finished SheCodes Basics and can't wait to get started on SheCodes Plus!

I was a bit sceptical at first because I thought it would be something complex and difficult to understand, as I have been struggling to learn html and css. This course helped me understand the basics in a simple and concise way. Matt is a great instructor and I have already learned a lot. The courses are well structured, easy to understand and fun, which is important to me.
The workshop content is fun yet challenging! I definitely spent more time debugging my code than in Basics -- this gave me the opportunity to see where I was overcomplicating and where to simplify. I also really appreciated the instructor's tips on how to build/design code efficiently and for walking through how to plan/execute a project from start to finish!

Easy to follow, enjoyable and super practical tasks. The instructors in Slack reply almost immediately to any question. Matt even comments on your final projects, and I honestly don't understand how he does it with thousands of students :)
SheCodes Basics was the perfect entry-level coding course for me! I admit I started the course with doubt - "Will I be able to follow? Will this be easy enough for me - a complete beginner?" But after the first few lessons, I fell in love with coding, how creative it is and now I can say that I truly enjoy doing it. The course is well structured - I enjoyed 'challenges' after lessons (helps to cement the new knowledge) and the fact that after each 'challenge' we had an explanation video on how Matt would have completed it. Matt Delac is a great instructor - he gives clear instructions and a lot of tips on how to become a better coder throughout the course. The SheCodes team is very helpful and I enjoyed the SheCodes Slack community.
What I liked most about the SheCodes program is that the instructor, Matt, is a seasoned professional developer who gives practical tips on the development workflow and speaks from experience. Besides this, his passion for coding and web development is infectious!
This was my third SheCodes course that I have completed and I am amazed at how far I have come in such a short time! I've been learning so many different coding courses online but only SheCodes workshops keep me going and completely build up my skills. Although there're barely any interactions between the instructor and the student, all lessons are well prepared and delivered. I remember trying to memorise every elements in the very first lesson and now I can build a webpage on my own! It doesn't look so complicated but that's my work, that's how I develop throughout 3 weeks and needless to say, I'm so proud of myself 🙆♀️

Learning React was a journey, not always easy but very satisfying once things started working. I loved my journey with SheCodes, now that I completed all the workshops I can say with certainty that it is a wonderful bootscamp for anyone who might be a little scared and see code as daunting. I absolutely loved this workshop. I learned so much during this process and I absolutely loved the final project that we got to do. Building the Weather App was such a fun experience and it really taught me a lot about my abilities and was a great learning experience at filling in the gaps. I really appreciated all the feed back that I got from the instructors and Matt gave great information in the lecture videos.

SheCodes Basics was a great beginners course! I had some prior HTML/CSS knowledge from my MySpace days, but the instructor, Matt, did a great job going a little deeper into each topic. Javascript was brand new to me, so Week 2 was a little trickier but rewarding. Matt did a good job providing a clear overview of JavaScript basics. I loved all the exercises after each lesson, and I thought the weekly homework was an awesome way to put what I learned into practice. Overall, the course was appropriately challenging and fun!

Going through the workshop was pretty intense, for all the good reasons. I usually paused and asked myself how hard it would have been learning all that Java Script without an instructor who broke everything into reasonable bits that one can easily absorb and process. Matt has been such a great instructor. The Slack technical team was amazing too. Well, Slack is where I learnt from other SheCoders that it is OK to feel stuck while working on a project, and that there is no shame at SheCodes if you cannot piece everything together at a given time. We are all learning and supportive of each other. Definitely, SheCodes is the place to be for everyone willing to learn coding. Here's to, as Matt says, happy coding.
I've been through ups and downs going through my SheCodes Plus course due to some personal problems. I had to restart my project from scratch when I came back , and I can't thank the instructors enough for the patience and understanding they gave me. I was hesitant to move onto Plus from Basics, but I'm really glad I finally did it! This workshop really challenged me to be creative and put together all the lessons we have completed thus far. The video lessons are clear and the Slack chat is supportive as usual. Some days I felt frustrated but the fellow peers and instructors in Slack are so encouraging and helpful. I was able to complete tasks at my own time and extensions are generous as well. I am excited to see y'all in the next workshop!
