I really enjoyed being part of this project, although there are many other things to learn, it has challenged me in a way I haven't had for a long time and gave me the desire to learn more.
SheCodes was the perfect way for me to start learning how to code! The structure of the course is really good - with live classes and several tutorials, challenges and homework to work on during the following week. Matt is also super clear during the classes which are so well prepared too. I highly recommend this course for who, as me before, wanted to give a first step into coding. It was a great experience! 😊👩🏽💻
The videos are ok for a complete beginner, but the information is already available for free. I expected the live sessions to be denser and to go into detail much more. Also, I expected the courses to explain the theory and to show practical examples much more. I would only recommend this course to someone who has zero knowledge of HTML/CSS, but not to someone who's good at learning on their own or who already followed some tutorials. For the same price, you can get a 3-month subscription on a DEV-focused platform and learn all these skills, plus much more :). So in my case definitely the expectations were too high for what the course offers, especially when it comes to the live sessions.
Matt is a great instructor. He presented all of the information in a way that was easy to understand. I feel that the material was structured very well with a good balance of live classes along with the convenience of learning at our own pace at home. I enjoyed the whole experience - learning, the homework, the project...all of it! I will be looking for the SheCodes Plus availability that will fit my schedule soon.
The first time I thought about creating a website, I never thought all the coding that was behind. In fact, I did not even know how to start. With SheCodes, we get a huge starting point: we get insights on html, css and java script. It is so exciting to code and see the final output! I recommend SheCodes for all who want to learn the basics of creating a website!!

SheCodes workshop is a fast-paced crash course program that gives you a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and is the perfect place to understand whether coding is for you without committing too much time or money. SheCodes workshop was an amazing experience for me! I got to learn something that is usually perceived as complex and difficult in a really friendly environment. The program was really well planned and organized, the classroom atmosphere was very relaxed and positive, with classmates helping and encouraging one another during the exercises. SheCodes staff (including volunteers and technical assistants) were very attentive and supportive throughout the weekend and really made a difference in the experience (including Matt's playlists! :)) . I loved my experience at the SheCodes workshop. It provided a supportive learning environment and plenty of new information, not only about programming but the world of web development too. The workshop was very cool. Not only you learn how to code in three different languages, but you also learn the appropriate terminology, a little bit of the history behind coding, resources coders use, and how it is to work in the world of code. Also, Matt is a good lecturer - he's honest, funny, knows what to say in order for you to understand what you are doing and puts up exercises for you to practice what you learned. I definitely recommend it!

SheCodes is a great way to start coding! This weekend was very productive. Matt is a very dynamic teacher and kept us always focused on the goal: learn as much as possible during an intensive 12 hour-period. We have learn the basics from JavaScript, HTML and CSS and have been asked to create a landing page from the scratch about something that we love. Such a great way to test ourselves!
This workshop allowed me to finally get in the world of coding, what seemed so out of reach, doesn't feel so difficult anymore. It gives you the tools to create a base and understand how coding structure works, from there, continue learning seems easy enough, and having in account coding it's a current and future language, now seems like a good time to start learning it.

Although it was two intense days and sometimes thought what I was doing there, I learned new tools that I believe that they are a plus for my future. After the weekend workshop, I started applying in my daily job some basics we learned and I am definitely becoming interested in knowing more.
I had a great experience and learned a lot about the 3 programming languages though. I do advise every girl to take the course because it's really helpful. At least for me it was, now I understand the "programming" conversations around me at work and am able to participate in a constructive way in those conversations.
It is one thing to learn coding at home and another to walk down the road alongside many other like-minded people. It was educational and, most importantly, a fun experience. Is isn't easy for first timers, however, but will serve to gauge of our interest to further pursue coding. In my case, it was a resounding "yes!".
