I spent most of my career working with backend technologies, but SheCodes completely changed my perspective. Their clear, structured, and hands-on approach made JavaScript not only approachable but exciting. I never thought I’d fall in love with frontend coding, yet thanks to SheCodes, I now enjoy building things in JavaScript just as much as my backend work. It feels like they unlocked a whole new creative side of coding for me.

The hands-on projects, clear explanations, and real-world examples made learning JavaScript, HTML, and CSS both fun and practical. I especially loved the repetition method, which was really helpful for JavaScript, it can be tricky to understand at first, but after revisiting each topic in multiple lessons, everything started to make sense.

This year I wanted a way to capture and share memories from an upcoming camp without relying on others for photos. That idea sparked something bigger. I thought, why not create an app where everyone can collect and share their pictures in a fun, interactive way? But the problem was, I didn’t know how to code. I could design on Canva, but building an app felt impossible, especially since I couldn’t afford to hire someone. So I started looking into web design programs and discovered SheCodes, and signed up. Now, I’m close to finishing my app using everything I’ve learned. I love that SheCodes lets me work at my own pace but still keeps me accountable with project deadlines. Even when I wasn’t ready, I could ask for extensions instead of giving up.I’m so glad I chose this platform it’s made learning to code both accessible and enjoyable.

I absolutely loved these workshops when I enrolled a couple years ago, and I was excited to come back once I saw that SheCodes was offering a course in Python. I have learnt a lot in the course of two weeks, and I have grown both confidence and skill. I love the teaching approach of making sure we become resourceful by engaging on Slack and the internet. SheCodes React Add-on brought me back to the classic SheCodes rhythm I’ve loved over the last six months. After the first React course’s fast pace, this add-on felt focused and hands-on—clear lessons followed by building. We integrated new APIs and built something different from my earlier projects, and by the end React really clicked for me. I’m happy to finish one of my final courses on a high note and excited to keep shipping React apps.

Loved this! Learning more about forms, how to utilize them and how to inject time and timezones was a lot fun. I will say it again repetition as well as trial and error are what help you retain the knowledge. When it gets challenging, taking a deep breath, water break or whatever helps you and then go through your code step-by-step and you will figure it out. 😊

My biggest challenge was the API integration, but with patience and by tackling the issues I was facing, I was able to overcome it. I still need more practice, but I'm starting to love these challenges.

I really enjoyed the new CSS features that I added to my project. In my design process, I used the She Codes CSS generator to lighten images, add gradients, and transform images as well. I loved learning how CSS grids work, and most importantly, I was able to change the theme of my page. I added more features to the dark mode to make it more visually appealing. Overall, it was all worth it!

This was so much fun! I have to be honest I never interacted with platforms like ChatGPT before, I didn't know much about prompts, contexts and plugins...Each lesson is like the ones in previous workshops built upon each other so that you can create your own project using AI. I love the challenges and repetition. At the very beginning of my journey with SheCodes I was wondering how am I going to remember all of this and little by little I am. I am starting to feel more confident as a developer🦋.
