This is the first time I have ever coded in my life and I was super nervous at first. Matt's lessons are broken down into small increments and the challenges make it very easy to check your learning at your own pace. I love that I can pause the video, try something and go back and rewatch if I need. The community is also very supportive if you have any questions along the way! I am super exicted to start the next workshop!
My first step to the tech world and I loved every second of the constant trial and error. Enjoyed the last 3 weeks of SheCodes Basics thoroughly. Learnt so much in such a short time. Now I feel I understand so much about how a webpage is designed and interacts with users. I am very excited to learn more and perhaps work as a front end developer when I am ready! SheCodes has been great for building my confidence and beginning my coding journey! All the tutorials are easy to follow and I love that the homework was structured to include real world applications and problem-solving.
This is my third workshop with SheCodes, and is the most difficult one. I won't lie, it took me way longer to finish than I have planned originally. I love that the team has added an ability to work on the second project (dictionary) which I am planning to use a little later.
This workshop is amazing! Coding looked so complicated and felt so overwhelming when I tried to figure it out myself. This whole experience and teaching made me understand coding on a base level I never would have on my own, this experience gave me the opportunity to learn, experience and do it myself essentially with help. I love the hands on approach and that it doesn't feel like spoon feeding, yet it is laid out so clearly that you completely understand what is going on. I would recommend this platform to anyone I come across
After years of putting this off and thinking I wasn't smart enough, or didn't have enough time, I've discovered a new love and career path! Originally signed up due to a recent promotion however, with this new-found knowledge and love for Coding I can't wait to learn more!

This has been an incredible workshop. I cannot express how much I love Matt's teaching style, each video very clear and not too long, and then the next video building on the concepts you learned before. It meant that even starting with zero knowledge I was able to follow along easily, and quickly got to grips with coding principles - and if I was ever stuck, there was a whole community on Slack to help. I also really liked how SheCodes has a lot of tools you can use, but also how the course taught me how to find the answer elsewhere if I was struggling; useful for any future coding I do! I have loved learning to code with the SheCodes course. I found the course content really interesting and it has been so useful to have the practical challenges every step of the way, followed by the solution. The SheCodes coding course is excellent and unique. I liked coding and always wanted to learn it. This is such a great course that I fell in love with coding. I can really say that this course is the best course I have ever taken in various fields. It is very regular, principled and most importantly project-oriented. Since graduating from college in June, I wasn't sure which path I wanted to take in tech. Thankfully, I saw a SheCodes ad on Youtube. Initially, I was introduced to html/css many years ago when I took 2 online courses at a local college; however, for whatever reason I didn't pursue it. I'm happy to have gotten reintroduced to it by taking the SheCodes basic workshop. I forgot how interesting it was. And since I'm a visual learner, I loved learning by watching videos. It made the material easier to understand and the three weeks flew by. Now I have an idea of which direction I want to take.
When I started SheCodes, I had absolutely ZERO experience/knowledge with any form of coding. I loved the pace and the flexibility of the due dates because life happens. By the end of the workshop I have the base knowledge of what it takes to create a website and I look forward to learning more in the advanced workshops!
Really wonderful experience. I have taken coding classes before, but I loved how often we were challenged to try out new lessons. These challenges built on one another nicely and it was a pleasant surprise that homework consisted of brand new challenges using the skills we had already learned. Often in other classes these assignments build on one another and then your final project is what you have been working on, but this challenged you to start from scratch again and build something new.
Matt's style of teaching is a great, I loved the mix of theory and practical work. He explains the code in simple terms, making it really fun and easy to pick up quickly!
The SheCodes Basics Workshop taught me so much in a short amount of time 😊 Matt makes everything easy to learn and the format and rhythm is adapted to all kinds of lifestyles. Of course, when you're working full time, it's a bit challenging but it is definitely possible! 💪 Now I know that I actually love coding and that I want to challenge myself as much as possible. I took my first CSS course in my freshman year of college, I failed, terribly. I was so discouraged I did not want to even look at my computer... But today, 8 years later, I decided to give it a try and see if I wasn't a complete failure (when it came to coding).. and let me tell you.. I am amazed! I understood (mostly) everything instructor Matt was presenting! I loved his teaching style, and could really understand all of his comparisons and analogies. Really grateful that I took this course.
It was very fun to complete all the challenges. Specially the final project. Also, sometimes it was a little frustrating but it was totally worth it once it was all fixed. I really loved the workshop and I will definitely recommend others to give it a try!

Hello SheCoders (and future SheCoders!) I really enjoyed the Basic Workshop classes. In these last 3 weeks I've been breathing, eating and sweating codes! which is absolutely amazing. I love coding but I needed the proper classes, the live chat guidance from professionals and colleagues, the project and the deadlines! It was a great way to push myself to get the challenges and project done. My personal experience with this course was great and now Im more sure I want to continue learning more coding !! Very thankful of all the things I learned! Happy coding!

I'm so glad that I signed up for SheCodes. I took a coding class in college before, but I struggled to understand it because I was only reading from a textbook. I thought I wasn't cut out for coding because of that. When I started SheCodes, I found that I actually enjoy coding. The lessons are presented in a way that is engaging and I love that I was able to practice what I've learned immediately with the challenges. I feel like I was constantly surprised at what I was able to do. I went from thinking I couldn't code, to wanting to make it into a career.

I've loved coding since junior high, but a lack of classes teaching it left me without a way to learn, to the extent of me almost completely forgetting that I had that passion at all. I've been looking for new things to try, new learning opportunities that I could potentially turn into a career. SheCodes is definitely that avenue. I've rediscovered that passion I had when I was a kid, and I'm getting to develop it in a way that I hadn't thought of before. I can't wait to continue on this journey!
I loved this experience, Matt explains everything super well , i was a complete zero in programming before starting and i've been able to do almost everything very smothly
To learn to code was an amazing decision, to do it at SheCodes made the decision perfect. I love the way Matt presents the stuff. You get a lot of very well explained new information with each class but you don't get it completely chewed. Some things are easy to reproduce others not ,and you must go through trial and error until you get the right answer. This is for me the best way to learn something. I just finished the Basics level and cannot wait to continue this journey. As Matt promised, coding is really fun.
This was an intense 3 week journey, I had in mind many times to give up, I was saying that this is not for me, I can't learn it, but I am so glad I have not gave up. I loved the support you get, in case you get stuck, so many options to sort your issue. I was not alone, I was getting instant help from staff members, even from the community members who joined SheCodes. I think what kept me going is the time line to submit your homework, if was not in place I am sure I was not to follow up and give up easily. Very organised step by step course, clear messages and instructions, the best coding course. I hope more people discover this and give a try, it's not as hard as you think and if so, you are not alone, a lot of people are going through same thing as you and many more are there to help you. Thank you Matt and the team, thank you the SheCodes community. I finally did it 😊🎉

I was skeptical with how quickly or proficiently I could learn HTML, CSS, and JS in just 3 short weeks....I am pleasantly happy to share that it is possible! I take each lesson day by day and personally decide where I need to spend more time learning. I love this flexibility. If you need more time, they are accommodating but still have high expectations for completion. The final project was so much fun and I enjoyed my time creating my own site about cavapoos! I highly recommend. I will be moving on to the next part of the course and I am excited to continue this journey.
I always thought that online classes weren't worth it because it's not the same thing being learning online that in person but Matt Delac is really good at what he does. Thank you Matt you got me fall in love with coding!

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire SheCodes Basics workshop. I had some prior experience with coding before the workshop, but the way this was taught here was fantastic! I learned new things and the lessons rejuvenated my love for coding. JavaScript was actually fun in this workshop and I didn't think that was possible. I highly recommend this workshop to women who want to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript but don't know where to start. I can't wait to start the next SheCodes workshop!
I struggled when it came to learning programming languages before I found SheCodes. Matt makes learning so much fun and I'm always looking forward to my SheCodes challenges! React is definitely interesting. It’s so much easier to organise than vanilla JavaScript. I thoroughly enjoyed making the dictionary app because I’m a bookworm. I also just started a new job in my absolute dream company and one of my tasks is updating the website. I love having front-end knowledge that I can apply to both my day job and freelance side business. Thank you to the whole SheCodes team for the journey!
Absolutely loved SheCodes Plus. Definitely found this course more challenging and found myself hitting a mental block on more than a few occasions, but I'm embracing that this is part of the process and nothing a break away from your screen and a fresh mindset won't resolve. Very practical, loved the objective approach I had learned without struggling with the languages. The support team was available always I needed.
I have been interested to learn to code for a while, but this course gave me the kick I needed to finally start! I loved the small challenges and the homework deadlines allowed me to keep on track and keep developing at a good pace. The course is broken down in a way that makes it easy to understand as looking at a page of code can be intimidating, but it has helped me to understand how it all comes together.
I absolutely loved this class! I started out by attending the 1-hour free coding class from an Instagram ad, then ended up buying the basics class the following day and I have not looked back since! Matt does an amazing job explaining everything from the bottom up and does it where anyone can understand it. I was able to learn so much and have great resources that I had no problem with this final project. I had just a smidge of previous experience in coding from a semester in college (and those good ol' Myspace days!) and wanted to continue to learn more so that I can broaden my career opportunities in tech. If you're STILL hesitating to sign up, just DO IT, GIRL! Invest in yourself and your future, you will be thankful that you did.
SheCodes made me realize that I CAN leave my job and do something in tech and I CAN learn difficult technical concepts. I have fell in love with coding and cannot wait to continue learning!

I decided to take the leap of faith because I have been talking about getting into coding a while, but I never felt like I could do it. This intro course truly gives you the tools to understand the basics. Matt and the staff of SheCodes made it a very welcoming environment and I love their flexibility. I'll be honest: I was intimidated by the idea of learning to code for quite some time. I thought that because I am a clinician and work in healthcare, there would be no way that this would click with my background and skills. However, I was super surprised by how much fun I had doing this course! All of the lessons were very easy to absorb without feeling overwhelmed, and I loved that there were so many different ways for me to go back and review different concepts if I was stuck (e.g., videos, examples/models, support from staff, Slack). If any other women in my life ask about where to start with coding, I will be sure to refer them here.
Hey everyone! It's so cool to be here. I have always loved technology but never felt I would be able to grasp coding. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and am a Crisis Counselor so I have zero experience in tech. I was always intimidated to take any computer courses as I felt I wouldn't fit in since tech is a male-dominated industry. When I found, "SheCodes" I was ecstatic! Although challenging, I found the material I learned valuable and fascinating. I hope to learn more!

Loved every bit of it, no matter how many times I was staring at my screen thinking "Why is this not working?" just to realize that I have misplaced a ";" or other symbol, so yeah it is the little details that counts the most. Thankfully with all the support I got, I managed to get my projects up and running. Making mistakes was the best thing ever, for I realized that sometimes all you need to do is read your code and do some research, the answer is most of the time hidden in plain sight. If you have any second thoughts" don`t", it`s an amazing journey that might lead you to a different career path, or just have fun with coding. Looking forward for other workshops. Thank you SheCodes community, for making this happen.

The workshop was amazing. I really enjoyed seeing my work come to life. Loved having the slack chat at my fingertips every time I found myself stuck. My experience doing the SheCodes basic course was very good and surpassed my expectations. I am a banker by profession but I have always desired to know how websites are built. I have always been fascinated by the web and how engaging it is and how much knowledge one can acquire from it just by a click of a button, not to mention how easy it has made life for everyone. The learning curve however looked intimidating, and so I really yearned for somewhere where I could feel motivated to learn to learn to code ..and keep learning and not give up, just to see if this is a career path that I would find endearing. Those answers are what I got right here for a great price. What a highly engaging and interesting way to learn and to believe that you can code. I loved the challenges that kept me on toes and ensured I was consistent in my learning. I loved working on my final coding project because I learned that I can do anything that I put my mind to. From here the sky is the limit. I plan to take the SheCodes Pro course and become the kind of frontend end developer I now aspire to be. Thank you SheCodes!
I joined SheCodes to have a first experience in coding as recommended by some friends. Matt is an excellent professor and it's amazing to have such a strong support from the SheCodes team whenever I got stuck in coding. I also loved the other SheCodes tools such as the Radio, the Color Wheel, the Gradient Wheel, among many others. What started as curiosity has totally become a real interest in coding and I'll certainly be joining other SheCodes Workshops to improve my coding skills 👩💻
WOW! That is all I can say (mostly). I have learned so much and this course forced me to learn more than I had to. I found that I was extremely curious. Matt equips you to learn and gives you the tools to search on your own. Not only that, but I found that when life got a bit hectic, I could extend my due dates. I have loved learning and coding beside all of these fantastic women!! If you are on the fence, just do it. You wont regret it!
