This was a pretty neat introduction to coding! 😎 I'm super glad I took this course. I just wish Matt explained things in a little more detail😕. I know I should get used to googling things. But, I found myself doing this too often at the end of a lesson. For a class that I paid for, I feel like he should have gone into more detail. 😅 but I really enjoyed it, over all! The pace was *perfect* and it was super easy to pick up the info!
I wasn't new to coding but learning it always felt so overwhelming... That's before I joined SheCodes. The classes are very thorough and Matt explains everything step-by-step. So there's no pressure, but at the same time you learn lots! Also it has a very organised process, which makes it even more helpful. I loved this workshop, and highly recommend it to anybody thats even slightly interested in learning to code!
Two years ago I wrote “I have always been curious about coding and feel grateful to SheCodes for providing a safe space for women to learn this a valuable skill set. Learning new languages can be quite a challenge, however, Matt made learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript enjoyable.” It has been a pleasure doing a refresher course and I'm excited to continue on with SheCodes Plus.
I really enjoyed the SheCodes Basics so much so that I am now looking to do the Plus workshop. Matt's explanations were not only thorough but super easy to follow & understand, there were plenty of practical exercises throughout the lessons to learn from experience and great support available via the Slack channel for when you get stuck or challenged. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a taster into the the world of coding or a refresher on the basics.
I was always afraid to say "I want to code" because you have the idea that it's incredibly difficult, but SheCodes is an incredible platform, I love the ease with which you understand things and Matt's way of explaining. The SheCodes Basics course is an excellent way to enter the world of code and really achieve something that you like and can serve for you as a professional and for others to know your potential. I'm so happy and exited to start the next course.
SheCodes Plus was challenging but well paced. Definitely learned a lot from this course and Matt's lessons were very well designed, I learned a lot and it helped me develop further with Front End coding skills.
"Hello World" :) (ehehe) I finished my SheCodes Plus this week and I am very very proud of the results :) I started not knowing anything about coding and about this world, to build my own weather app. Say what? :o Yes, is amazing how Matt and his team guide us, to absorb so much knowledge in just a few weeks. I will continue my journey at SheCodes with the SheCodes Responsive now: I am sure it will be great and a lot of fun! Already these new skills that I am learning are opening new opportunities for me and I am very happy with this :) I wish you all as Matt says: "Happy coding".

Lockdown got me thinking of trying new things and I thought about giving coding a chance. I stumble upon SheCodes and immediately sign up for SheCodes Basic Workshop. Thanks to Matt for making easy as he breaks down the lessons into small puzzle pieces and less intimidating especially for beginners. Making the real-life project was so much fun as well as I am a person who's up for a new challenge 💪. Definitely a perfect platform for those absolute beginners!
I've tried several online coding programs before. All the programs were difficult to understand and did not last long. I easily got lost and couldn't ask for help. SheCodes curriculum is very transparent and well-organized! It’s an online course, so I can stop anytime and repeat when I need. In my opinion, who teaches you is the most important thing. Matt is the amazing instructor I've ever seen. I've never felt myself looking forward to working on lessons and assignments every day.
I am so happy to have found the SheCodes Basics program! Matt's style of teaching gave me practical, hands-on experience on a weekly basis so that by the time I got to the final project I felt equipped to pull from the skills learned in previous weeks. At first I thought this would be so complicated because it's not LIVE and I wasn't gonna get my questions answered right away but Matt makes it so easy to understand and also gets you used to the idea of resolving things on your own by knowing how to research.
I've really enjoyed learning to code with React - it was challenging but in a really good way, and I can't wait to begin using it! Teaching from Matt and support from the team top notch, as ever. I highly recommend these courses :)
I had no experience with coding at all and I didn't have any interest in learning it as I have a friend who does coding and it just looked complicated. But I saw SheCodes ad by accident and the first things that caught my eyes were the colour of the website and the word "She". I decided to attend the free class and I remember Matt saying that he built this community because of the lack of female representatives in the tech industry. This is what actually pushed me to go ahead and try the basic workshop. I am very happy with that decision because I realised that it's fun and not too complicated and now I have basic experience in coding! Thank you to Matt for the clear explanations and for the SheCodes team who are always there to help and greet us which made the whole learning journey even more amazing!
I have to give it up to Matt and the excellent SheCodes Team for setting up this Responsive Workshop!!! 👏👏👏I found it to be the most challenging of all the courses, mostly because, I chose to build my Front End Developer portfolio for the final project. It wasn't easy working through my fears of perfection, but at a certain point I had to let go and accept that it is not definitive, it can evolve along with me. Before starting this workshop, building a React application seemed very daunting to me. With great examples and explanations from Matt, even this advanced workshop was made fairly easy to understand and execute. It is challenging at times but I was determined. From having no coding experience a couple of months ago to now having completed this React workshop, I now have more knowledge and experience in coding than I could have ever imagined having in this short amount of time. I have the confidence now to keep building my portfolio to showcase and pursue a career in tech! I am forever grateful to the SheCodes team!
I have been on and off again with learning JS. I decided to join SheCodes after reading many reviews left from other women. I like the fact that this platform is solely on women learning how to code therefore I decided to jump in and join. I enrolled in the Plus workshop and I just completed Coding Basics and I am already loving it. The teaching method is great, after each lesson you apply what you learn by completing challenges and the homework assignment. I cannot wait to continue and start the next workshop. Thanks Matt! SheCodes is a fun and interactive way to get started with web development and programming. Matt is a great teacher who explains things in a very simple way. The course consists of several videos by Matt which are followed by relevant challenges. If you have never written a line of code before in your life like me, then this is a good place to get started.
SheCodes has shown me that coding is actually much more fun than one could expect it to be. Matt gave me a very clear step by step guide on how to realize my own creative ideas and literally fall in love with the process of coding itself!

An Amazing journey!!! It took me back to my Uni days and stole my heart again. I studied Masters in Computer Science in the past. I couldn't pursue my dream yet. SheCodes responsive was pretty fun! Again, Matt made the content fairly easy to follow. I think building a responsive website is an important skill, and now I can tell why some websites don't look that great on a smaller screen. Excited to get onto the next course!
I started this workshop with high hopes and I was definitely not disappointed with SheCodes.I loved how Matt explained everything step by step and besides, it's not all practice but also tips that can help you to program better, I would definitely think about getting the next level of workshop.
Matt has an incredibly skilled way of breaking things down into bite sized pieces and making coding easy. I love that he doesn't just focus on teaching the coding concepts, but also on how to be resourceful if you do run into trouble (ie. even the most experienced coders Google things! You do not need to memorize every language). He doesn't edit his typos out of the videos-- which is also comforting, because it demonstrates that no matter how good the coder is, mistakes happen and that's ok. I signed up for the full package, and I'm very much looking forward to continuing on! :)

Just as the Basics Course, this course was awesome!! It wasn't easy and wrapping my head around JavaScript especially was challenging at times, but Matt is an amazing teacher and Bruno and the rest of the staff are just so incredible helpful!! Not once did I get a reply on a problem that I didn't understand or that didn't solve my issue. I am also still amazed by how much I learned in these couple weeks. Not in my wildest dreams did I think I could build a weather app!! I can't wait for the rest of the courses :)

I just fell in love. I've been so curious as to what goes on on the backstage of the internet and with SheCodes Basics I got a glimpse of how it all is glued together. It is just fascinating, exciting and fun! I am definitely going to continue with this, and if I find a legitimate excuse to spend more money on the courses (my job is nowhere near related to coding) I think I'll end up taking all of them! Came into this course a complete beginner. At one point I didn't think I understood anything but it all just clicked which has made me so happy. I haven't learn anything new in so long, it was a challenge for my brain but I'm so proud pf myself for completing. The course is structured nicely and easy to navigate, Matt is also a fantastic teacher.
Before the SheCodes workshop, I had very little until no knowledge of HTML and CSS but I wanted to learn it to improve my skills as a product manager. After 3 weeks I gained new skills, and can now do more and more implementations with confidence. I really enjoyed the flexibility of the courses because I could learn it while working full time. I'm a support agent, and I started this course because I'm trying to learn more about how the coding world works. The free class won me over and I decided to try the basic course, thanks also to Matt's ability to involve me with his teaching. I was not disappointed: the lessons were all very clear, the challenges were fun to try, and the satisfaction that I felt after successfully submitting my homework every week was huge! I may think to upgrade and continue with the other workshops, but for now, it was really nice to learn the bases of coding and I'm grateful that SheCodes exists!

I’m happy to share that I have finished my Weather App project for SheCodes Plus. Or it would be more appropriate to say ‘decided to stop with it for the moment’ xD Since the way I’ve been seeing it - it’s pretty more than I was expected to submit as homework. I tried my best to make it already responsive, though this topic will follow in next course only. And it’s firm 80% of what I wanted it to be, inclusive of: - themes and layers are changing based on weather conditions - clouds animation depends on wind speed - fonts react to day / night - the cities options are populated from Google API - basic settings of theme and units are available, along with GPS position saved due to localStorage - there are some pretty Bootstrap elements - I’ve picked up some funny pixel-style visuals for loaders and found exactly the same old-school games font I was looking for - and again… it’s already pretty responsive to different viewports. That was a challenge, especially the responsive part. And another opportunity to double confirm that knowing your target it’s already half way. Googling a right question it’s already half an answer. I haven’t figured out yet why there are issues with GPS on iPhones and some Bootstrap elements on certain iphones only, so let’s head to SheCodes Responsive and check whether there are the answers I need. (My precious) That little Ghibli tribute was done from the bottom of my heart. Thanks a lot to Matthieu Delac Aussaguel and SheCodes Team for providing the coding skeleton knowledge (and setting courses with deadlines). And big thanks to my main testers. My husband, in whose eyes I saw proud instead of irritation for me staring into monitor for hours. And my beloved friend and former colleague from Moscow - country is definitely not the limit.

This is the perfect workshop to start learning coding. I thought it will be more difficult that it really was. Matt explains the concepts gradually and it is really easy to understand them doing the small challenges. I am really exited to learn more about coding with Shecodes!
It was great experience! Matt's video guide is very clear and I had fun learning codes. Staffs always quickly responded my questions so I was able to learn without any frustration. I would highly recommend this basic course to anyone who is beginner. I am excited to learn more!
Honestly, one of the best online courses I ever took. Simple, clear, efficient methodology. I always thought that "coding was not for me": too hard, too "mathematical". Matt demystified this idea through SheCodes. At each challenge, I got more and more convinced that I could do it. It was a huge satisfaction to take those first steps and I hope to keep taking further ones.

SheCodes React was challenging but great fun from start to finish. Along with the previous workshops I completed I now have three working projects that I can showcase my new skills. This is down to the excellent teaching from Matt, and the support from the rest of the SheCodes team.
I loved the flexibility of this course. Being able to set my own schedule and work at my own pace was one of the reasons I wanted to get into coding in the first place. Mixing art & technical skills was another. So far, I'm absolutely loving what this new career path is giving me--freedom to work wherever, whenever I want, and purpose/drive that is extremely fulfilling for my brain. Matt is a great teacher! It is easy to follow along with him because he helps you to understand why a particular code works best. After you turn in your work, you get to watch a video that explains a possible solution. The video also addresses common errors.
Could not be more proud of myself for starting and finishing this amazing journey with SheCodes. I found it on a whim and decided to go for it. At first thinking to myself, will I be able to manage as a single mom of 2 young kids but before I knew BAM! I received my first certification and became even more motivated to continue up until now. Today, I have the great pleasure of patting myself on the back for accomplishing the goal that I set and I'm thrilled. Matt, João, Bruno, Daniela and all of the other wonderful people have helped guide me through this by answering questions and encouraging me to keep moving forward on top of all of the other women completing as well. Learning React was a challenging experience, I still have to practice a lot but Matt's instructions are easy to follow. I can't wait to learn more!
I enjoyed working on SheCodes projects and was also pleased with my accomplishment. I have learned a lot during the workshops. Matt is a helpful mentor with his teaching approach. I learned a lot of new things that are valuable to know. You won't regret choosing SheCodes.
I've never thought I would have a knack for coding, but Matt made it look so easy and I've enjoyed every step of this experience. Definitely looking forward to applying what I've learned so far and continuing expanding my knowledge.
SheCodes was amazing! I never thought I'd be able to learn how to code. Matt made it so easy and simple to learn and follow. He breaks it down and builds on what you've learned from the previous lessons. Slack was also a huge help when I was stuck or confused. I cannot wait to start SheCodes Pro and continue to learn more!
I really enjoyed working on this weather app and I am so pleased with this accomplishment. I have learned a lot during this workshop and the mentors were extremely helpful. I have already recommended the workshop to three people, one of them is my best friend. I really admire the teaching approach Matt has used in these workshops, you'll never get bored.
Though I am still finding my eye in design, I have enjoyed learning how to create a responsive website. It has been wondering to follow along with Matt and his videos, working through tough spots together. Highly recommend!
