I love how I can follow along with Matt. It helps me because I am a visual learner and once I see what I have then all the dots start to connect.
I started this course knowing absolutely nothing about coding and finished this short course with a lot of knowledge about what coding is and even could be. I find myself thinking how certain websites were coded and how I would go about it myself. Although it was a lot of information, Matt did a great job at teaching clearly, having the videos to refer back too was a great help too.
I have found SheCodes Basics Add-on a very interesting and useful course to implement additional features to your website. Matt explanations are clear and on point, it's really easy to keep up with the learning. Recommended!

My journey with She Codes Basics was nothing short of amazing. As someone with no prior coding experience, I was apprehensive about delving into the world of web development. I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 8 months or so learning all of what SheCodes has to offer me. While this React course was difficult at times, I feel it has helped me become a better coder. Matt has been an exceptional instructor and all the SheCodes staff have been excellent whenever a question arises. I just wish SheCodes had even more advanced React classes to take. I'm excited for the last add-on course and will be forever thankful to SheCodes for helping me find my passion in Front End Development!

I sincerely thank Matte and others for giving me chance to study Coding. In all honesty, I started this course without even knowing or having a knowledge of what I was doing. The only thing I knew on computer is typing in Ms Word and Excel. I really struggled to understand some terms but I did not give up. I started getting everything right in week three. During the 3rd week I found myself able to code and built on some assignments. I was really happy.
Prior to my enrollment, my coding knowledge was non-existent, and the tech industry always seemed like an inscrutable puzzle. I believed that finding the right learning platform was crucial, and for me, Matt provided a simple yet comprehensive explanation. I eagerly anticipated seeing how these newfound skills would impact my career!
I would highly recommend this course if you're wondering what is like to code or if you have a busy schedule but are eager to learn. To me, it was extremely useful and super fun! I learned a lot and now I'm 100% sure I will continue coding. 👩💻 I loved the way lessons are separated into short clips because it makes it really easy to follow or rewatch if needed. Matt is a very good instructor and I found his explanations very clear (thank you!). Also, I loved the Radio station 🎧 and Athena was a life-savior when I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my code. 🤖🙌✨
I initially thought it was going to be daunting to learn how to code but it ended up being enjoyable. I won't lie it would get challenging but through doing my own research and the help of the Slack community, I would quickly overcome the challenge. The study material is spaced in such a way that you can take in a good amount of information in one video.The challenges were how I got to practice what I have learned and more. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the different elements in my own time, saves me from anxiety. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team! 1000/10!

The SheCodes Basic was a very fun and fundamental course to learn HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. The instructor Matt explained everything very well and with passion, which made learning easy and fun. Even though I had some parts that were difficult but I broke through them. I highly recommend sheCodes

The hardest part was actually finding the time to complete the course as I was working full-time. The course itself is informative and Matt really explains everything in detail and provides examples in the videos. I liked the fact that if you were stuck on a challenge you can ask a member of the SheCodes team on 'Slack' and they will help you out with any technical question you have.
Instructor Matt does a fantastic job of breaking down the concepts. There is a good balance of demonstrating the concepts followed by practical, hands-on application of those concepts.
This is a nice addition to the Basics workshop! I've learnt new CSS techniques that will eventually help my projects look much better. I'm not really into the CSS transform properties and the fancy backgrounds because I think that they are too "noisy". However, it's good to know how to work with these tools for future reference. I really enjoyed doing the final project and appreciate the fact that it looks really good and much more interactive for the user. It was nice to have Matt's support throughout the project development.
learning react was definitely not easy. it's almost like learning a completely new language. But I would say that with anything, no matter how strange and unfamiliar it feels, if you stick with it long enough, you will become familiar with it.
I appreciate how the videos took us through Matt's thought process of how to build a website. His steps were easy to follow.
The basics add on was somehow easier than basics. Perhaps because i had an underlying understanding of code. How Matt demonstrates and explains the project, taking you step-by-step through the process makes building a webpage much simpler than you would initially think. I really enjoy being able to make pages based on my interests - it keeps me engaged. Thanks for the fun :)
SheCodes Basics has been an amazing learning experience and opportunity. It is quite hard to believe that after only a couple of weeks I have been able to code my first website from scratch! I believe the program is well structured and especially well explained: Matt is a great teacher, clear, concise and linear. Lastly, I particularly appreciated the Challenges at the end of each class: it is quite a game changer, as it helps a lot to keep yourself involved and on track.
This is such a good workshop for beginners and I would really recommend it to someone wanting to get into tech. I really enjoyed the SheCodes basic workshop and it was really such a fun experience. SheCodes 100% definitely is the best coding workshop out there! Before starting SheCodes basics I thought I would feel discouraged or disinterested after the first week but it was completely the opposite. Throughout the course I was engaged and motivated to challenge myself and complete the tasks. The challenges and videos made coding feel so much more easier and it helped me stay on track. One thing I loved about the workshop is that I could go back to any lesson which I didn't fully understand and work on the challenges at any time of the day which is extremely useful for people who are busy. I really enjoyed this workshop. I have a learning disability and haven't been in school in years, so I was nervous I would have difficulty, however it was pretty simple and straight forward. I actually had a ton of fun creating the last project, even so that I finished super early and tried to add in extra things that were taught, and things I googled to figure out. It was really fun! I did have issues with how the videos would teach us one thing, but then the work you needed to submit asked you to do something that wasn't even taught to you yet. I also didn't quite understand why an entire workshop for teaching women to code is taught by a man. A woman instructor would be better, though I understand Matt is the creator and therefor he teaches it all. I would really like to continue with the other workshops, however they are unfortunately not something I can afford.

My brother, who is a software engineer, has told me so many times that I have good problem-solving skills and that I should learn coding. He tried teaching me coding before, but when he did, to me it was very overwhelming, and so I thought that I coding was never for me until years later and I found a free coding session of SheCodes online. I decided to give it a try because I thought, "What's the worst that could happen?". There I found Matt teaching coding in a very approachable manner, explaining everything as if he were taking me by the hand leading me step by step. The way he makes comments on subjects make the lessons relatable so that I did not feel intimidated or overwhelmed. Surprisingly, I enjoyed so much that I decided to try out the 3-week course. And now that I've finished the 3-week course, I can actually see that I do have a potential to make this my career so I've decided to dive into SheCodes Max to invest in myself for my future. I would not have been able to learn on my own if not for SheCodes. I'm excited to start next week!

I've enjoyed every single second of this workshop!!! 😊 The lessons are very well structured and paced. Matt has a natural talent for teaching, he just makes everything very easy to understand with real-life examples. Coding is fun! Before starting at SheCodes, I thought that coding was difficult and that I would have a hard time learning it though I found it interesting. But, thanks to Matt and the SheCodes slack community, it was a wonderful experience. In just 3 weeks, I've become 3 languages smarter. The best part of the workshop for me was working on my final project where I was able to freestyle and be creative.
I've always felt that coding is meant for the smart ones or at least those with strong computer background and that kept me far away from it. But upon joining SheCodes Foundation, Matt being the great teacher he is made me realize even I can code. I'm still on the basics but I can already see how much value this skill will aid in my career.
