Having a background in coding, I wanted to strengthen my skills but wasn't sure what to expect from SheCodes. I had seen the site several times and thought, "Why not give it a try? What do I have to lose?" I'm so glad I made the decision to join SheCodes! I've used various coding websites before and often felt overwhelmed by the amount of information. Although I had some experience with the languages, I really appreciated how Matt explained the code step by step. By the end of the basics, I learned more than I anticipated. The code challenges were helpful for ensuring I understood the material, and if I didn't grasp something, Matt provided clear explanations of his solutions ! I am a slow learner. I have struggled with creating a simple website for over 3 years now. I never understood nor grasped most of the different syntax used in HTML and CSS but I did this week. I never found a useful and organized YouTube channel to help me either. This week has motivated me to build a website for all my baking recipes over the holidays! Learning how to make a website responsive has been a transformative experience. I have been interested in learning to code for years and have tried several other courses (free and paid), none of which I completed because they either presupposed coding experience and advanced way too fast for me to keep up or because there was no support or feedback on the code I wrote so I would abandon the course if I got stuck. Matt explains everything in bite-sized chunks so I never felt intimidated or overwhelmed. The weekly homework gave me a chance to practise and solidify my knowledge. WOW! What an experience. For the longest time I thought coding was for geniuses because of how intimidating it looked. All thanks to our facilitator Matt for showing me that there is nothing I can not do. These past three weeks have not been the easiest but all the resources provided to us and all the support made it a pleasant experience. Now, I can confidently say I can code. I would highly recommend others to enrol for this workshop because, code is the future!

At a glance, Python can seem intimidating, but once you learn to read and code Python, it's really beautiful and fun. The React workshop really helped me bring my coding to the next level. This workshop has definitly helped me gain more confidence in my coding abilities and I am amazed at what I am able to achieve now. This workshop was quite challenging at the start but by the end I was feeling quite confident. Matt was an awesome instructor as always and is very thorough in explaining the concepts.

I received my PhD in Biological Engineering, and half way through my program I realized I was more interested in software but within Biotech. Since then I have been finding ways to learn how to grow my technical skills, as transition my career. This workshop was a lot of fun. Working with real-life data and actually making a functional app/website has been top-tier. I would recommend the works of Matt and the SheCodes team any day. Learning about libraries was also very insightful.
Despite this course being more challenging compared to the Basic and the Basics Add-on courses, I thoroughly enjoyed becoming more confident and creative with the final project. Matt is an amazing teacher, and I cannot recommend SheCodes enough if you want to get into coding.

I found SheCodes in 2020, I didn't apply for it because I thought I would not like web development and I am pretty busy. Fast forward, to this year 2024, I chose to try it out, I applied for the Delac Foundation and thanks be to God I got in! It is an honor to be part of this program, I fell in love with programming HTML, CSS, and JavaScript once again. I did code a little before but always gave up halfway. This is a good platform for everybody and I highly recommend it to everyone venturing out in web development. I would 100% recommend SheCodes. The video tutorials are very easy to understand and Matt gives you access to many more resources that you might need for extra help. You can also extend your deadline dates, should you not have the time to submit on the given date. It is so accommodating to working women and university/college students.

I've been studying Front End development with SheCodes since early 2024 and it's a lot of fun. The method used by Matt Delac is structured by learning sequence, so progress is gradual and lasting. As an Education Sciences student, I'm also fascinated by online learning methods, and this one is particularly effective. The Responsive workshop was so captivating that it was impossible not to stop coding. It's incredible to be able to build your portfolio on your own.

Mr. Matt makes coding fun and easy. Being able to finish this project with all the elements and attributes I learned I feel like I am a developer already and that I can conquer the world. Truly if your code is not running as expected just catch a breather and come back because its the little mistakes that makes you furious and hysterical. Do not give up!
