It was quite challenging. Sometimes I didn't quite understand Matt's explanation or I didn't understand what is he asking from me.
It was an amazing workshop, where I learned how to make a pure responsive landing page using only html and css. I've learned a lot and had so much fun. matt explained everything really well, and it was very easy to understand everything.

I decided to take on this course and it's been great. I used to do programming at my old job, however since I stopped being a software engineer. I noticed I started to slowly forget what I learnt. I took on this course to jog my memory and it helped a lot! I didn't notice how much I missed coding until I did this course. I was a little bit worried I wouldn't be able to follow (what's before absolute beginner?), but 3 weeks later I am so glad I went for it! I was immediately hooked by the workshop and looked forward to login in at the end of the day. Matt's lessons are remarkably clear and engaging, and I loved being able to immediately apply my newly acquired knowledge in the exercises. SheCodes allowed me to surprise myself and make myself proud, I had way more fun than I ever thought I would while learning how to code. It's not that complicated, after all!
Time went so quickly whilst doing this course which can only mean one thing.....I LOVED IT!!!! I have always been curious as to how websites are made so when I saw this course I jumped at the chance to do it. I began the journey, March 2023, of teaching myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript by using various platforms for guidance, but none of them gave me the structure I so needed. At first I had trouble with HTML and being able to remember the codes and how to place them correctly in CSS, but with the help of Matt I was able to understand how to place my code correctly. Not forgetting the slack app he recommended for us to use, it came in very handy when I had challenges especially with my final project.

Before SheCodes I used several free online websites to learn HTML, CSS and javascript, and I have to say I am very impressed with SheCodes. Matt has a very clear way of teaching and also stimulates his students to search online for solutions to their coding problems, which is a very realistic way to enter the programming world and learn how to be independent while coding. With SheCodes Basics, I have discovered a new set of useful tools (e.g. info for CSS color palettes and gradients) that I had never encountered on free online websites. I am looking forward to the next workshops.

I started the coding workshop with no coding experience. At the beginning, it felt a bit overwhelming but having Matt as a teacher was really amazing. Some people discover their dream when they are 5 years, others at 38 years. I am among the latter. I set out to study how to code but every single opportunity I came across was either limited to people who had an undergraduate degree in IT or women below 35 years. And they all required paying and getting enrolled in school for up to 3 years. It broke my heart but I never gave up trying to find that once in a life time opportunity to live my dream. And then one day, I typed "free training for women" into google search and "SheCodes Foundation" popped onto the screen. My life has been impacted forever. I started out nervous, that I would not be able to cope with the lessons.....I was pleasantly suprised! Matt set out the lessons in baby-steps that were easy to follow and understand.(Thanx Matt, You truly are a blessing!) I look forward to learning more and becoming a world class coder.

Growing up, I was always curious about how things were made and what made them run. When I discovered the internet, i wanted to know how it operate, i started learning how to operate computer but what will actually give me what i wanted to learn were very expensive. so i couldn't afford the classes. Again, Coding was seen as men's job in my community which everyone discouraged me but the zeal was still there. Years later, I stumble upon the SheCodes Workshop which offered me a chance to go back to my passion. This programm has given me skills such as a sense of community and focusing on what i love to do. And guess what? the workshop was offered to me for free. It was actually challenging with limited resources to buy date, however, my goal to continue learning and to complete the Workshop successfully kept me moving. SheCodes program has given me the confidence to continue learning. To every woman interested in pursuing a career in Coding, i urge them to take a leap, discover their potentials, and give their best. Its okay to fail, but its okay to stay down. I also advice anyone currently in the program to trust the process, stay motivated, and work with Matt and his team. It is a continues learning experience, and every day provides an opportunity to grow and discover new ways to make systems work better. I'm glade i mate Matt and his team. You guys are awesome.
