I recently completed the SheCodes AI Add on course, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! As someone with a passion for coding and a desire to integrate AI into my projects, this course was exactly what I needed. Matt did a fantastic job of breaking down complex concepts into manageable chunks, and the hands on projects were both engaging and practical.
With this workshop, I learned a lot about responsive design, but I was also able to improve my previous knowledge from other SheCodes workshops. It was very interesting getting to know the building process of a webpage. Since the design and how we, as developers, will "translate" that design into code. I highly recommend it because I like the way Matt explains everything, I like the pace of the course, and also the real life examples given during the classes.

The SheCodes React module is a must complete. Challenging & attention demanding, it bothered me more than I'd like to admit for the first three weeks, but when it sunk in? Oh! So satisfying! It really highlighted how comfortable and confident I had become with coding regular JavaScript. Matt's instructions are always clear and concise, and when even that wasn't working I used the support of the SheCodes Slack channels to understand where I was going wrong. Spoiler alert, I was forgetting to restart the server. I am very excited to add the React Weather Search Engine to my Portfolio.

This workshop was fun to learn. I created a recipe generator, that I will use when I get stuck for ideas in the kitchen. This example related to me more, as I am not crazy about poetry. At first, I was a bit intimidated to move away from Matt's example, thinking it would be more confusing to learn. I am excited that this was not the case. I found that it was easy to customise and encouraging to think of other AI projects I could create to streamline my everyday tasks!!

Having completed SheCodes Basics, I felt I needed to continue with coding as I felt I was only getting started! In this week Add On, I learned how to create CSS grids which was something I was looking for in the Basics homework. Overall, I feel this short course has enabled me to keep my coding skills fresh in my mind whilst building more advanced HTML, CSS and Javascript. I really enjoyed making the Final Project and towards the end I ended up tinkering with the CSS code and understanding where to put certain classes or hovers - something I definitely wouldn't have been able to do 3 weeks ago. I thoroughly enjoyed taking the basic workshops. I feel that Matt really breaks down everything you need to know and what is important to remember in the beginner course. My favorite aspect of this workshop is the challenges and homework we had to do, which helped me a lot in retaining the information I had just learned. Additionally, I'm very happy it was self-paced, as it allowed me to do it around my schedule with my kids around. The Slack channel is also helpful if you are feeling stuck or need assistance. I would definitely take advantage of the next workshop to continue learning. My main goal is to grow my skillset to benefit the next company I work for.
when i commenced the she codes course i was scared because of the stigma coding has that it is for males but Matt made my journey easy and worth it . i had a bit of challenges but i was able to overcome them with the assistance of slack and Athena . i am immensely grateful to be part of such a platform.

It does become quite challenging and you'll have sleepless nights but the knowledge you gain from this course is something you won't regret.
This was a fun additional workshop that initially wasn't available when I first finished SheCodes Plus; it is great that I was still able to access it. I am so grateful to Matt (and everyone at SheCodes) for providing such great content and for understanding those of us that really don't want to come up with our own designs! I can just concentrate on the code, and maybe refresh the design when I'm more confident/inspired.

This was a fun project to complete. The videos by Matt are easy to understand and follow. It's interesting using AI and learning how tricky wording can be to prompt the AI to do what you want. The possibilities are endless. I am looking forward to learning more on how to incorporate AI in future projects.

It feels good to introduce yourself as "a woman in tech!" (After learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript basics, that is me!). I am a passionate young woman in Kenya who is passionate about technology! Going to university, I picked a tech career (Bachelor of Technology), and my dream where it will be tech-intensive. Let's say my dreams got stuck in dreamland. I am not saying I did not enjoy it, but the tech part was utterly erased. Being selected for the SheCodes scholarship has been my happiest moment because we all know coding courses cost a fortune to an unemployed adult! Anyway, on the real deal, SheCodes Basics course has made and surpassed my expectations. My passion for coding and dreams of becoming a Full-Stack software engineer has doubled. Unlike before, I can confidently say I know how to interact with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Of course, I mean simple codes. I am far from making complex interactions, but one step at a time. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow. But Matt Delac was great at explaining how to code in each video. Shecodes is really the best way to learn basic coding.
This add-on gave me a bit more practise in using my coding skills. I feel this practise helped me a lot despite getting stuck a lot. I did truly got stuck on nearly every class, but having the support I had I realized that what made me stuck helping me improve more on my code and skills. This add-on forced me to venture out outside of the course to find my solutions when i'm stuck, and that is what life is, finding solutions in different places so I am glad to have gotten the practise I did. This is a huge mental game, it takes a lot to continue when you feel you have made many mistakes or when you feel you just might not be a good enough coder, but the satisfaction and feeling of getting to the end & finally learning that piece you were stuck on... can't beat that feeling. My biggest recommendation that I can give to others is no matter what, try your best, search on google, ask chatGPT, ask AI Athena and if you feel you haven't been able to figure it out, 100% ask the support group and you will always get help and shows where you need to improve your code. Even if it means you take a break and pick up your code the next day, don't overwork yourself, you will get there.
If you told me before that coding could be so easy, I wouldn't have believed you! Matt is an excellent teacher who makes it so easy to understand and to get started with coding. It's been a fun ride to learn the basics of coding and I can wait to learn more!
I am so grateful to SheCodes, it has been such an amazing and interesting journery learning more about coding. I am a third year student in IT and quite honestly i have learnt more with SheCodes than i have with my IT course at University thus far. I feel really empowered to take on any coding challenges and i really appreacite Matt's videos, he has helped me understand concepts i couldn't fully understand in the past, i am so thankful to SheCodes as a whole and i look foward to advancing my coding skills with SheCodes.
I really enjoy the SheCodes workshops and always look forward to my time working on them. Matt's way of explaining is really helpful specially when showing the common issues/ mistakes one might make.

I was really nervous to try the entry-level workshop because I have absolutely no coding experience, but Matt's teaching style was amazing! I really appreciated being able to use SLACK when necessary, and the SheCodes Customer Service team was really easy to contact. Looking forward to the rest of the classes!

i found these 3 weeks both challenging and rewarding - i loved learning the new languanges within coding and pushing myself to problem solve within my work. Matts classes and projects are just the right amount of informative teaching and practical work.
I had tried wrapping my head around coding for a long time and even worked on some data science projects at work and university. I felt defeated because I found coding too complex and thought that the world of software development was a dream I could never pursue. I challenged myself to try coding just one more time and attended the SheCodes Introduction workshop. I was shocked at how easy to grasp the concepts were and how much I enjoyed the way Matt (my instructor) explained concepts. I felt for the first time that my dream of transitioning into software development was a real possibility. The lessons were ADHD-friendly (which was very important for me as an ADHD girlie!) as they were bite-sized, self-paced, aesthetic and interesting. Needless to say, I find myself coding for fun at night, which I never thought I'd say. If you're on the fence, please try the course; you won't regret it!
There's been many challenges, but the overall experience of SheCodes Basics has provided me with much confidence going forward. The way the lessons are set up and how Matt teaches coding makes everything much less challenging. I'm excited for the next course.
AI seems like one of the latest hypes in the digitization and it is so interesting to learn how to integrate it into a website. It definitely has a lot of potential and the way Matt is showing it to us, it seems accessible even for beginners which is again highly motivating. Thank you SheCodes!

I completed a basic module of coding at university a number of years ago which I enjoyed yet I fully didn't understand it and how all the elements of coding languages interacted with each other. Now having dipped my toe back into coding with SheCodes, I have found exactly what I am looking for. Step-by-step videos which explain each topic with a short challenge using this knowledge, building your knowledge gradually. You have all the lessons to refer back to, the Slack community and also SheCodes Athena AI to assist you whenever you need it. Although at times it was challenging, it enabled me to go back, re-try and check my code and it's the best feeling when it loads and works which you have solved yourself! I really enjoyed creating the final project and definitely keen to look into coding further. Thank you Matt for all your lessons and the SheCodes team!
SheCodes Plus was challenging for me but I felt better when Matt mentioned that this is advanced stuff so to introduce it to us now will only prepare us for what is more to come. At the end I felt so proud of myself for getting through it and not giving up.
