SheCodes Basics really helped be dive into coding..and I absolutely love it! I knew nothing about coding before taking Matt's class and now I am wanting to change careers 😅 Matt is a really thorough instructor with lots of helpful insights.
I'd highly recommend SheCodes! I've been interested in learning how to code for the past year and while there are tons of free resources, I couldn't motivate myself to finish and there was no one to look over my work so there wasn't any consequences for being sporadic with my studying. With SheCodes, I have deadlines to follow, structure that keeps me organized, challenges and homework that gets marked and projects that really make you work independently and test the skills you learn. I learned so much from Matt already and am excited to move onto the rest of the course. He teaches thoroughly efficiently and doesn't waste time. Additionally, the Slack community is active so getting help and giving help happens 24/7.
SheCodes Plus was the challenge I didn't know I need. I learned a lot and I had a lot of fun following Matt's guidance into building a working weather app.

I find this workshop very helpful as an introduction to coding. It nicely breaks down all the basics I needed to start learning to code. I recommend this Basic-workshop to anyone unsure if they would be interested to learn and just want to try things out. I also love the part where Matt touch on the subject of where to find answers, for example, MDN and how to solve issues yourself. But then again in my opinion it is introductory.
I've always been more of an outdoorsy nerd than a computer geek, but SheCodes might just convert me! I started the workshop with zero coding knowledge whatsoever and found it very easy to follow along with the lessons. I enjoyed the challenges and projects and loved that Matt pushed us to do some creative problem solving in each of the assignments. Looking forward to using my skills in the real world!

What an amazing adventure I have embarked on by joining this course! The way Matt transfers knowledge is very easy to understand, and it is beginners very friendly. Personally speaking, it is a very good learning experience. I can manage my studying time without any pressure as long as I finish all the challenges and homework. Overall, it is a very pleasant learning experience! I gained a lot. As a person who loves learning, this was the best! Matt is a gifted intstructor who will guide you into the world of coding with great ease and fun. I remember when I was terrified when watching coding videos on Youtube and wondering if that was what I wanted to work with. I'm starting from zero and now I can say I enjoy coding and I can't wait for the next steps. Matt has a wonderful way to explain the details and makes coding really enjoyable.
I never thought I would finish my course in about one month :) I am really happy with Matt's lectures but I wish to have had more projects in this course, nevertheless, it was very challenging, especially with Javascript. Back in SheCodes basic, I wasn't even able to read formulas from Javascript when I search on the internet, it was so confusing and now I can understand them and apply them, without a problem :) I am definitely looking forward to doing the next courses!

I programmed a Weather App to enable users search for their current location, the location they reside, and other locations. I also used a metric unit to enable users toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit degree, dependent on their location. It has been a mind blowing journey and it was really tasking, glad I got the result I needed. SheCodes has been an incredible experience! I am mostly bedridden and have very limited mental energy due to ME/CFS, but Matt's lessons are simple and enjoyable. Plus the program was very flexible with extensions when I was in health flares. It felt sooo good to actually learn a new skill and feel productive again! I missed that feeling! Also, I love knowing that if my health improves enough to actually stay awake during the day, I now have very desirable skills for a job that I could even do in bed! Thanks SheCodes!

At a crossroad in my life, where I was desperate to find something relevant, that also stands for women empowerment and that I could dig my creative claws into - I couldn’t have found ShCodes at a better time. I don’t think I’ve done something so frustrating, but as highly rewarding recently than learning the basics of coding. Having Matt to talk through things with, and make lights of stressful situations was what got me though in the end and I can’t wait to keep practising to eventually become a front end developer, and learn other languages to potentially go further. The world of code seems limitless, with opportunity to enter any industry. My ultimate goal is to be able to build and host my own website from scratch, that will encourage collaboration and interaction. I loved the SheCodes Workshop. Very practical lectures with lots of exercises to start coding by yourself.
