This is a very cool workshop. I highly recommend it and I most definitely will continue on to the next SheCodes workshop. The lessons are very well structured and Matt is a very good instructor. I took an HTML course a while back but I was rusty because I hadn't used it in years. Now that has changed and all I can say is that re-learning HTML, CSS, and JS has been very enjoyable and it will certainly be of value to my career.

I took this workshop expecting to gain new skills to possibly enhance my resume. But the experience I have received was way beyond what I imagined, Matt and the SheCodes Team were beyond amazing and really helpful. React isn't easy topic to learn, but with Matt's explanations, it became really clear and understandable. I'm happy to complete this workshop (as well as all previous), and I feel confident to start my career as a front-end developer.
Wow. React is indeed an amazing tool and I am very glad and thankful that it was included in SheCodes curriculum. Like in all the other workshops, Matt guides you step by step through a well-structured learning path and you keep accumulating super powers ;) If you understand HTML/CSS/JavaScript (e.g., if you have completed the other SheCodes workshops), I truly think that you should check for yourself what you can do with React. Probably it will fit perfectly as the solution for that project you are dreaming about… I can’t recommend SheCodes enough for all who want to learn front-end programming. Congratulations to the SheCodes team for their amazing work!
During the process of this course i went from someone who was completely terrified of React, to someone who feels confident writing React code. Matt's teachings are concise and very beginner friendly. I would 100% recommend to anyone who's learning react for the first time.
Matt is an excellent teacher and is particular about helping us understand the basics & syntax. Loved the SheCodes basic and can't wait to start on Plus.
Matt's tutorials are not only thorough, but they're well-organized so that they build off of each other. Week 1 was all excitement as I realized that the HTML I learned 20 years ago in high school had still been bouncing around in my skull somehow. Adding CSS on top of it was a piece of cake, and the course lays everything out for you one step at a time. Week 2 was all JavaScript, which was brand new to me. There were times I got tangled in my own code during a challenge, but I was never frustrated because it was so simple to go through that week's threads and see if anyone else had similar problems in the past. If so, there were always helpful students and teachers ready to give solutions and help work out the issue. I came here from trying to trudge through Coursera's Google IT certification courses, but I was really struggling and kind of worried that maybe I wasn't quite 'smart enough' for a new career tech or something. However, based on how easily I adapted and absorbed the SheCodes training, I think it's just the different approach Matt brings, which is more visual learning (since he has his code in the video right in front of you so that you can pause it and follow along in your own session of VSCode,) in addition to the small challenges at the end of each lesson, which helps you practice and cement the coding you just learned. Aside from the videos, there are all kinds of learning/coder aids, such as cheat-sheets, color palettes, and CSS generators. Fantastic program. I'm so glad I took a chance from the beginning and signed up for SheCodes Pro. I'm ready to rock the rest of this program and have an exciting, fulfilling career. FINALLY! Thank you, Matt!

This was one of my favorite courses so far! I loved to be able to create and design my own portfolio to showcase the work I've done so far. I enjoyed playing around with the endless possibilities of Bootstrap and CSS to make my portfolio as responsive as possible. And as always, Matt was very clear and helpful in the videos. I really enjoy this part! JS was tricky for me (and still is) but feeling when you get the cause and fix and create is amazing! I like that Matt slowly involve you for self research and you learn just to google some things to make your project better

This was such a wonderful introduction to coding! I completed the basics course and feel like it just scratched the surface, but I also learned a LOT. Great and funny course! The videos were easy to follow. You can go at your own pace, and the challenges are significant to learn step by step. I had some knowledge of HTML but the Basics course helped me to put all the pieces together. Matt was reassuring and this didn't make me feel alone in my frustration. Plus, SheCodes has all the tools you need (the radio feature is awesome!)

SheCodes is the best choice I ever made in my life. I'm currently a data science student and wanted to improve my coding skills and here I am. Thanks to Matt's team and his teaching skills, I was able to learn programming quicker than I would have ever thought.
I've been looking for a coding program that would work for me. I looked for over a year and all the other programs were sketchy with their advertisement and gave no insight on their curriculum. But when I first seen SheCodes, I thought it was too good to be true. And now after finishing the Basic Course in just 1 week, I am so excited that I found a program that works! I have a RHIA and a MSHI and worked as a medical record coder for 7 years, I was hoping my Master's in Health Informatic would give me that technical flare, but it didn't, which left me short of the mark for potential employers. SheCodes has a well-built curriculum! and if you've read any other testimony, Matt is an excellent teacher! His style of teaching is what got me through this course so fast. He literally led the way all the way down to the finish line, and by the time you arrive, you'll know exactly what to do! Go tell a friend!

I had zero experience with coding and it is all so much clearer to me now! There are some tough concepts to learn, but Matt does a great job explaining them. I also love that I can watch the videos as many times as I need. I am a teacher and will teach coding to my students this year now that I feel more comfortable helping my students if and when they get stuck with our own programs.
I really loved this course. It was fun and Matt is amazing teacher! I would recommend it to everyone , even if you know html, css, javascript because you will get to know loads of helpful techniques and tricks to increase your developer productivity. The closest I've come to coding was editing html back on myspace.. needless to say I barley understood what I was doing. I really didn't know anything about what "tech" is and essentially didn't know what coding was until this workshop, and now in just three weeks I feel like I have a solid foundation to base my future knowledge upon. The way Matt breaks down the content really helped my understanding and helped me gain confidence to begin coding and allowed me to realize it is actually fun! Now I know this is something I want to continue pursuing. Based on how much I learned, the flexibility of the course, and the cost, I would highly recommend this program for beginners!
I can not believe how much I learned in this program! I do wish there was more coding with JavaScript prior to this course because I was not at the level I needed to be at before beginning React, but I was still able to work my way through the course. I will miss these workshops so much but I can't thank Matt enough for creating this program. While I still have a lot more to learn, I feel leaps and bounds ahead of where I started 5 months ago. Passing these courses is like a magic trip to creating web sites. Information is given in a clearest way. There's no boring lectures and practice not connecting to reality. SheCodes makes it easier to understand and practice code. I previously learned html/html5 and other coding languages through an app. While it was easy to understand, I never had the opportunity or even the right tools to practice and learn coding. No matter what style of learning you comprehend best; Matt teaches excellently to comprehend each point. Definitely worth the investment!
I always thought coding would never be something I would be able to do, until I found SheCodes! I learn through seeing and doing, so having videos of Matt explaining what he's doing step by step was a huge help! I can now add my projects to my UI/UX portfolio, and apply my new understanding of coding to my work with developers.

What a fantastic course! I struggle to learn and focus on one thing for an extended period of time (autism/adhd) and Matt teaches in such a way that I am engaged and really enjoying myself. SheCodes gave me the confidence I needed to try something new. The curriculum and course direction from Matt is easy to follow and go at your own pace which I love!
In truth, I initially enrolled in the course (SheCodes Basics) with a lot of skepticism about the capacity for an asynchronous, online course platform to be able to teach me something functional, as well as any sort of prospective for me to be able to take this new skill and make something out of it (and even potentially branching out into a new/evolved career). While I know I still have loads to learn, knowing that coding is a growing language that even experts who have been doing so for years still study and work on to improve their skills/language, I have become hopeful that this is, indeed, a field that I can actually get into, and continue to learn, expand, and explore rather than feel "stuck" in. Matt is a phenomenal teacher. I loved the way the learning platform was designed and each activity was scaffolded and chunked into smaller bits and gradually building up to a bigger project. I also loved how the final project allowed us to create what we were passionate about. (I definitely spent way too much time - WAY more than necessary ;) - to make every detail and design the way I wanted: with both information and knowledge gained from Matt's lessons, as well as searching on google on my own for things I actually wanted more of). After doing my final project and recognizing all the more that I could learn, I have decided to continue to learn, and maybe delve into some of the other advanced workshops offered through the program. Thanks so much, Matt, and everyone else on the team!

This workshop was definitely challenging yet so much fun to learn what I did in over 8 weeks. I am very thankful to SheCodes team and Matt. This workshop has polished my coding experience compared to when I started SheCodes Basics. It has prompted me to be willing to learn more about JS and its "magic". I can say I am more confident since I am currently studying Information Systems at my university. This workshop has provided me such a valuable experience.
I`m so surprised writing code can be so easy to understand and exiting to try.
