I felt like my learning progressed greatly through doing this project and bootcamp.
It was a really good introductory overview - it taught me the basic language and the structure of how it works. I particularly enjoyed the final project where I was free to play around and create something I liked!
There's a lot of info crammed into a short amount of time but it's done in a manageable way so that my brain didn't hurt too bad! It's pretty cool how I was able to amalgamate all the lessons into a final project. I have even able to make the final project related to my work as an elementary teacher. The support when I needed it was excellent but I do strongly recommend researching bugs and questions on your own because lots of additional learning happens this way! I spent way more than 5 hours per week but maybe this is because I nerd-ed out more than necessary? As with any new learning, would have to keep up the practice in order to maintain all this new knowledge. Definitely recommend!
This course, although basic, was fabulous. The lessons are easy to understand and the challenges are stimulating. I enjoyed creating my final project, which I am very satisfied with. I can't wait to continue with more lessons to become a full-fledged developer.
The SheCodes Responsive workshop is a great addition to the program! It's the perfect follow up course to SheCodes Plus. There was plenty of new information, while also building on previously taught topics. I feel much more confident about my coding now. And to create your own portfolio website as project is both useful and cool!
This review is a contrast to the review of the first Shecodes course. Overall, I really struggled with this course. For me, it felt like a massive step-up and I am not sure I made it. I have submitted a very basic and flawed final project which I aim to keeping working on. I felt many of the JS topics were rushed and too advanced for me as my only experience was that provided in the first certificate experience . Everyone else seems to have swam through theirs with ease. So, I think working full-time, being a parent and being older than most in the cohort has not helped! I regret to say this will be the last of my Shecodes experience as I really struggled with holding onto and applying the learning provided. Good luck but definitely be prepared to watch those videos several times.
Glad this additional course was added. I not only learned more valuable information, but I was able to build my own portfolio. This will allow me to build websites for other projects I have been working on.
Another great course from Matt and SheCodes team. Lots of great info! The final project is challenging, but I've learned a lot and had so much fun!

Matt's teaching style is easy to follow and this contributed a lot to understand each concept and how to apply it in practice. I am very happy I came across this academy and that I challenged myself to take this initial course. For a person without any experience in programming, with SheCodes I was able to finish a project, that until a few months ago I never thought I could. I have learned so much lately, that now I feel more confident about getting a job as a front end developer
I learned so much! The course was challenging, sometimes frustrating, but worth it. Sympathetic Matt can explain complex things so that even an ordinary mortal with basic knowledge can understand them. I can't wait for more projects!
When I was informed there would be a new SheCodes Responsive class, I remember I was already ready to take 5 week-long-course. While adjusting the curriculum with my own pace of learning, I challenged myself to finish the weekly homework earlier than the deadline. It was not easy to secure my spare time. after my full time work. By fully utilizing my early morning time before my work and minimizing my social and fun activities for my future, I was able to create the project about Climate Change successfully. Like other courses that I took, the learning journey with Matt, Joao, and other support staffs was not always smooth to carry on but definitely worthy to try again and again (but never give up). Like a quote "Your strength is your own knowledge." I would love to show my greatest appreciation to SheCodes as I believe I became intellectually stronger than before. Responsive course has taught me that we would need to consider the end users when developing any products. Nowadays, people would. check the information via mobile web and it is crucial for developers to make sure that the. webpages would be responsive and SEO friendly. Thank you again Matt and I am already excited to take another course from SheCords.
I decided to start this coding journey out of curiosity, ended up learning a lot! The teaching method was great, along with all the tips to find additional resources. The final project was really challenging, especially for me that I am always eager to learn and let my imagination run wild π! Thanks to Matt and all the team! I have enjoyed working through the SheCodesPlus workshop. The lessons provided gradual knowledge accumulation, while the final project posed quite an exciting challenge. I am curious to learn more about Front-End development and the possibilities it brings.
Plus workshop is definitely more challenging, but absolutely worth it. I love the lesson breakdown and the challenges leading up to the final project. I come from a career in visuals, so using different parts of my brain to figure out how functions work was a challenge, but one I eventually understood and thoroughly enjoyed.
βAfter seven years working for big corporations in logistic I have started my biggest project which is my family. I have two wonderful little kids which are actually owners of all my time. I am looking for new challenges in new areas (not to become completely crazy ) and coding was one of the things which I have always wanted to learn. Shecodes provides a program which is perfect for busy woman like all mothers are. I am super happy that i have decided to invest into that workshop. I am going to continue in studying because I find this area perfect for my future career.β

As someone who has zero computer science or programming background, I am pretty proud to have built this webpage project with only 3 weeks of coursework and practice. I feel like I learned so much throughout this workshop! I really enjoy the detailed videos that Matt created, especially the ones for the final project. They made it really clear to learn the fundamentals of HTML/CSS/JS, and if I needed extra support the Slack community was amazing. What a ride this has been. I cannot believe I did it, I built an entire website app! It's crazy to look back to January, when my journey with SheCodes started and realize how far I have come, all the way from the intro workshop where everything was new and scary and amazing, all at the same time to today, finishing my project, delivering a fully functioning weather app. I am beyond grateful for this incredible experience, I feel SO accomplished. SheCodes opened up a path into a possible new career and I am looking forward to jump right in! Now it's time to get some well deserved rest and get readyyy to start the React course :)
Another amazing course from SheCodes! I could dig deeper into responsive techniques like grid and flexbox and learn some other useful tricks. I'm really proud of the website I built and will definitely start working on other challenging projects!
This is one of the best workshops/courses I have ever done! Like ever! I was a self-taught novice before this workshop (I could use a little basic CSS but that was it), but I have walked away with so much knowledge! I cannot believe I have been sending these sort of requests/fixes to a developer all this time. Now I have the knowledge to tackle these jobs myself and use my developer for chunkier projects. Thank you SheCodes, this workshop was a joy!
The course has been very interesting and enlightening. It's helping me a lot with my job as digital project manager. Thanks to the workshop I'm able to better communicate with developers using proper tecnical language and manage on my own some activitities where coding is involved.
The Plus program boosted my self-confidence. It provided me with all the necessary tools, documentation and support to build my web app project, I couldn't be more proud of the results. I decided to enroll in the SheCodes workshops because learning how to code on my own was very difficult. Going through SheCodes, I really enjoyed how the challenges, homework, and projects make you think logically and critically. Also, having deadlines, seeing your progress, and being part of a supportive community is reassuring, which is something that I needed to motivate me to keep on coding. Now on to the next workshop!

SheCodes is just amazing! I had fun while making my projects, learned a lot and now I feel that I can really go forward testing my knowledge by developing new stuff! I certainly recommend SheCodes, especially because we (women) are fewer than men in this field, and this has to change! SheCodes is just a fun way to learn programming and not only show us that we can but the importance of raising this number and having more women coding! π

SheCodes Workshop was the best step I did in coding learn. I always thought complicated, but with this workshop finally I learned in easy and challenging way. I could be more happier with my first project.
I had a blast matching backgrounds and images with all the different weather conditions. With JS I can design some more interactive screens and have a really cool user experience.I am really excited to start the SheCodes REACT course and have a head start on my dev team's react project. It will definitely help me design a better product that functions best with react.
When I completed SheCodes' other offerings, I promised I'd be first in line to sign up if a new course was ever launched. So, of course I jumped at the chance to be an early participant in the new Responsive Design program! Not only did Matt's instructions help me reinforce my previous knowledge of HTML and CSS, but with Matt and JoΓ£o's guidance I learned out to built an attractive multipage website that is optimized for multiple devices and screen sizes. I learned so much practical knowledge, and the final project was a blast! I can't wait to continue my responsive design practice and promising now yet again that if another SheCodes class becomes available, I will be first to sign up!
SheCodes Plus workshop is definitely much more challenging and demanding compared to the previous SheCodes Basic. Working step by step every week on your weather app, trying to understand more deep and complex Javascript you soon realize how amazing programming is π€© Thank you very much for this experience! I am very excited to move on and learn React π©πΌβπ» You are building a working weather app but at the same time is amazing that you finish your project with I had a wonderful experience with SheCodes. After completing the first workshop, I went onto SheCodes Plus and learned so much more! I would recommend these workshops to anyone interested in learning to code because they're well organized and broken down into digestible sections. Not to mention the support you can receive via Slack is super helpful. Excited to move on to the next workshop and begin learning React!
Even though I've been working with front and back-end developers for over 10 years, I've always had an extreme and irrational fear of learning to code. But with my deep love for UI and UX design and project management, I knew that I would be a better UX designer and manager if I knew how to code and after the last couple of weeks, I can totally see how my deeper understanding of code has had a positive effect on my work. I feel empowered and I'll be coming back for more @shecodes!
After working in retail for many years, my husband and I were in a car accident that left him permanently disabled. When life deals a bad hand, there aren't a lot of options but to push harder or give up. I decided to push harder and changed careers. I needed something that could provide for us and our young son. But I didn't have a degree. So, I began pursuing IT certifications. I passed the A+ and landed a job at a Helpdesk. I've been there for about 18 months and am now pursuing a degree in Cyber Security. However, the leap from Helpdesk to Security is impossible without experience, certifications, and degrees. I started working with sites to learn ethical hacking, but they required coding experience, which I did not have -- dead end. While studying for the Security+, I saw an ad for SheCodes on YouTube. It sounded too good to be true, so I did some digging. Sure enough, it was legit and had awesome ratings! Then, I nervously asked my husband, "Do you mind if I pay for an online coding class that may or may be a scam??" haha And he said yes! That leads me to now! I just finished the final project and feel SO much more confident. I have programming classes required for my major, which I start next week, and now I'm prepared to take them on. I have even gone so far as to reach out and start networking with jobs in app development, system operations, and internal security. If there is someone out there who isn't sure, I would say this: Grab life by the reins and MAKE IT HAPPEN! SheCodes is a perfect place to start! Matt is an excellent teacher, and the structure is well laid out and very easy to learn. Go out there and get it, girl, because you deserve this!
SheCodes is a great start into the world of coding. Matt explains everything in a way that is very clear for beginners. I like the challenges and projects, in which the newly gained skills can be applied.

Matt provides incredibly easy-to-follow videos. He breaks down the steps and structures needed for coding. The submissions and final project allow for practical application and gives you the chance to explore on your own to find the solution.
Just great how you can immediately apply what you learn to a real project as well as with the help of the community. A great way to learn how to code and be completely flexible.

This workshop was awesome! I really enjoyed being able to expand my skills by learning React. I also liked being able to apply these skills to the already familiar project of the weather app. Having a community through the Slack was great in order to connect with others and ask questions.
I would highly recommend this course! It was very well structured, easy to understand and most importantly, a lot of fun! I'm impressed how much I was able to learn in this short amount of time and it was great to apply those new skills in the final project. The course left me motivated to keep coding and learn even more about it along the way :)
JS is pretty challenging, but all of a sudden - it just clicks! Matt runs through an entire project from start to finish in week 6 of SheCodesPlus - which is amazing as everything you've learned previously is all put together with a better understanding as you've been using each section bit by bit. Love it!
Like the other workshops, React was fun to follow along with! I loved seeing my project come to life once again and learned a lot about React.
I really enjoyed that first workshop, I learned so much already! I could even create a little game for my first project πͺ. I look forward to the next workshops even if it is really hard sometimes to integrate all these new skills. I highly recommend this workshop π.
It was a very interesting workshop, I have learned so much. It is not easy and it does get very frustrating a lot of times but on the other hand, it does give you a huge sense of accomplishment when you see the final project finished. I like the fact that there are challenges at the end of each class and also the support and help you can get on Slack. It is still a lot more to learn and I think SheCodes is a very good starting point. :)

I loved the course! I improved my tech skills, I created an awesome project and I had lots of fun while coding. 100% recommended.
The SheCodes workshops are really easy to navigate and force a very welcome problem-solving nature. You have to put into practice everything you learn and the availability of help is really useful and reassuring. The video lectures with a partnered task really promote an active learning experience and the final project really helps you to put things together and combine all you have learned. Great interface, simple resources and help is easily available. I really enjoyed the intro to coding and believe that the benefits and transferable skills certainly go beyond just jobs in webdev.
This course unlocked a new set of frameworks that helped expand the possibilities of code for me. I was happy to discover that many of these developer tools are accessible to anyone who is willing to learn. Big kudos to the SheCodes team for their round-the-clock support on this project, answering questions and providing guidance along the way. I couldn't be more pleased with how my app turned out!
For someone who doesn't have any Coding background, SheCodes really helped me understand the basics of Javascript. It is very straightforward, simplified and explained in layman's terms. I can't believe I can make a website now! :) Also, I would like to thank the SheCodes team for being so understanding and patient with me, I'm a nurse who is working in London (as you may know we've been hit hard by COVID) they allowed me to get an extension for my project. More power to SheCodes! ππ»

I learned so much in 3 weeks with SheCodes Workshop. Each lesson comes with a small challenge which ensures you're understanding the lesson. The small projects were a lot of fun and I can't wait for SheCodes Plus.
The training sessions are entertaining and are followed by small exercises, which ensures variety and learning success. The project at the end shows how much we could learn in a short time. Was fun :)
SheCodes is an amazing coding workshop! I learned so much from Matt and it has certainly piqued my interest into the coding world. Currently working from home, so it's been a fun little hobby to keep myself occupied. I chose to do my final project about my pets, as they are the only thing that has kept me sane during this pandemic. I hope you consider this workshop, have fun, and stay safe lovelies!!! β€
I'm actually a musician/composer but thoroughly enjoyed learning something new. The videos are short and concise, enough for a complete beginner to understand a few basic concepts, I appreciate and enjoyed the fact that it's very practical, especially the final project. Thank you!
As expected, it was a lot of trial and error to get the project to look the way I wanted. I know it's not perfect (as I'm a novice), but I had a lot of fun with the project! I also like that Matt had the students seek answers on our own, just like we'll have to do in the real world. π
I had a lot of fun learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with SheCodes! All the little tasks and weekly projects keep you focused and motivated so you can learn a lot in a few weeks.

I have a scientific background so coding for me was really a new (and exciting) experience! I have always had a keen eye for details and thought how fun and cool would be to create projects related to typography, colours and patterns. Since last year I decided to look for courses within tech that could utilize these skills. As soon as I found SheCodes I sign up for the webinar, and after that, I decided to go forward. I couldn't be happier with what I have learnt so far. Matt and all the team is really helpful and I definitely recommend it. I am very inclined to jump to the advanced course π

It is a good workshop to learn how javascript works but also as I was working on final project with time limitations, I understood it would be so nice to know how to use frameworks to code faster in the future. In other words, this workshops gave me a nice start, but also motivation to look further.
A fun side project for me, already finding ways to apply what I've learned!
I really enjoyed this workshop and learning about React! SheCodes Plus was definitely a challenge for me, so transitioning into React felt like a breeze (at first), but I know there is still so much more to learn! If there's one thing I would want more of, it would be: more explanation on *why* things work the way they do. The video content is all super helpful especially watching Matt problem solve on the spot, as they come up. Whenever I ran into issues, I was thankful to have Slack as a resource, but I do wish I knew how to troubleshoot for myself a little better. I know that will come with more practice though, and I'm grateful to have gotten the basics down in this course and working on my final project! π₯³

This workshop has been amazing! The videos are short but packed with info. The slack group is extremely helpful, and the projects are fun. You are taught real-life coding skills as well as pushed to learn things on your own to practice.
I was really impressed with the workshop. With just a few lessons I became comfortable with coding. I also appreciated the final project because it gave me room to be creative whilst applying the key elements I just learned. Also the assistance from the slack community was great. Overall I am very happy with the program. It is also the first time I am finishing an online course.
Another interesting module - definitely struggled more with React but I got it done in the end. I would definitely say there is a bigger gap between the lessons and project for react than there was with Vanilla.
I really enjoyed learning how to code using the basic fundamentals of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. The challenges at the end of each lesson kept my brain charged up helped me understand the practical side of it. The deadlines keep you disciplined and on your toes . Loved working on my project, in the end, it's so rewarding.
SheCodes Plus was very challenging but I am so glad for everything that I have learned during the last 8 weeks. The workshop is well structured and it is super satisfying to be building up to our own project all along. I will keep on learning and coding my way through the world!
Very good info, the way in which the modules were structured made sense and slowly helped you understand how to get from a simple beginning to a complete project. The main downside was that, for the price point, I expected more preparation from the instructor (less typos, less improvising), since this was not a live course. All the back-and-forth made it hard to follow sometimes.
It has been so interesting learning about React and continuing my coding journey, but it has definitely been the most challenging workshop so far! Matt's lessons are very well structured and informative and I was able to follow along and use the techniques in my project. A big thank you to JoΓ£o for all his help via Slack!
I loved learning with shecodes.io! The course is structured in a way that walks you through the materials step by step, by watching detailed videos and practice everything through milestones mini-projects, and a final big project.
